We were in the area and wanted to find some indoor plants to take home with us. They have a good selection of plants and some smaller ones which were exactly what we were looking for. Also, we were aiming for plants that were cat safe and some signs did indicate that they were pet safe so that's a plus and glad that the staff included that information The pricing of the plants is a hit or miss though. Some were reasonably price and some were just a tad too expensive. Not too much though. Inside doesn't have much AC so we had to shop quickly since it was 100 degrees out. This is always a refreshing trip. Beautiful building and greenhouse. The young woman who works there is very friendly and artistic. She also makes whimsical/comical notes for the plants as if they are talking. The plants sizes, variety, and price varies but they have options for every budget and interest. Good value. read more

I'm constantly changing things up in my home. My current phase has a bit of a boho vibe and I've been looking for a very large, 4' high or so, low light houseplant to fill a void in my living room. I've called several local nurseries looking for such. Ken's was one of those places and the only one that confirmed they have exactly what I'm looking for, going so far as to put me on hold so she could confirm low light and the price. Since they close at 5pm on Saturday and it was already past 2pm I decided to make the 14 mile one way trip in hopes of getting exactly what I wanted. When I arrived I was impressed as this garden center really has some cute and thought out features. To my surprise they hold an ongoing inside yard sale in Jan/Feb (with belongings from employees and their relatives) in an empty greenhouse. It had some pretty good stuff too! Moving on I checked out all the departments before seeking the houseplant I was there for. They have some macrame pieces that caught my eye, as well as a potting bar for your succulent purchases. Their air plant display was adorable and I made a mental note of all the things I liked to get at a later date. They also offer various workshops at two locations, offering unique plant related projects. I'm already planning on attending. Prices were fair - not cheap, but not unreasonable. There was alot I liked about this store. Unfortunately the largest houseplant I saw that met my criteria was only about 2 feet tall. When I went to inquire and explained that I called apparently she misunderstood and thought I wanted something "a few feet, meaning two". I was a tad annoyed, especially since I drove 28 miles round trip and left empty handed when I was clear on what I was looking for but felt it wasn't a wasted trip. I'm definitely planning on attending one of their workshops and will be checking them out when the seasons change. read more

Was visiting from Pittsburgh, staying at Reihl's Bed and Breakfast, and one of the ladies (Miriam) said she worked at Ken's. I bought 4 plants from your Ronks store and they are all WONDERFUL! I am thrilled that my beautiful lemon lupine, which was already in full bloom when I bought it (May 17), now has new buds already, the lobelia is more beautiful than when we got it and the Dipladenia (new to me) is a very beautiful plant. It has never been without flowers since we bought it. We also bought a bird feeder and suet nuggets for my cousin who we were visiting and he says the birds loved them all and came in droves. All in all, we love Ken's!!! read more

honestly one of my favorite garden centers for herbs and fruit plants. (they look good for the rest too, but that's usually what i am here for) large selection of native plants, very knowledgeable staff, the selection is fabulous. anyplace has thyme. a few places have two or three varieties of thyme... Ken's has SIX. and how often can you find Salad Burnet? or self heal? or perennial AND annual chamomile? oh yes, huge selection of fruit bushes, and they had pawpaw trees... i did a video tour on my you tube channel, although its mostly aimed at the "things i like" (The Dragon's Garden) read more

I've been to Ken Gardens many times and have purchased several conifers. They have the best selection of flowers, bushes, trees, pots, etc. in the county. I absolutely loved visiting this nursery. I purchased all I could fit in my suv. My new rose tree has beautiful roses all over and they smell amazing. The staff were wonderful and knowledgeable. I LOVEEEEEEEE Ken's gardens. Not only is this place HUGE, they've got a diverse collection of herbs, trees, roses, berries (strawberry, blueberry, raspberry), and other funky plants I've never seen in other nurseries. I'm construction a mobile garden so that I can easily take all my plants with me whenever I move around. I'm definitely, definitely coming back for more. read more

I have yet to really browse and check the whole place out but I needed a blueberry bush for my newest addition to have a companion. When I called to ask if they had blueberry bushes they were super friendly over the phone. They had several to choose from and so far so good! It seems be enjoying our backyard just fine. read more

They have a wider selection than some other greenhouses nearby, but not all of their plants are in the best of shape. The outdoor plants I have bought are in good shape but considerably smaller than at other local greenhouses. As for the houseplants, some were in good shape when I bought them, others I have had to nurse back to health (lesions, degrading leaves from under watering, rotted leaves from overwatering), all are a bit overpriced. It's not a bad place to go but make sure to thoroughly examine your plants before purchasing and consider repotting as soon as you return home. A number of times I have found the plants potted in the wrong type of soil. read more

Fantastic selection of trees and shrubs. They are very healthy too. The prices are good and they have great sales. The people are helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend Ken's for trees, plants, shrubs. Their pots and gift shop is bit pricey but I am definitely going back! read more
