They cut down a tree for my neighbor and drop branches that broke four sections of my fence. When I confronted them they got combative and denied it. None of the fence sections were broken when they started cutting the tree out completely unprofessional. read more

Shull's trimmed a chestnut tree in my yard a few years ago. I was pleased with their work and thought the price was reasonable. A few days ago my next door neighbor's tree dropped a HUGE limb (the second time in the last couple of years, so the tree was clearly sick/damaged). I recommended Shull's, and the crew came out today. When they were finished, I asked one of the workers if he would help me straighten the (ancient) waist-high metal mesh fence between our yards, which had been hit by the limb. The crew bent the fence back into shape AND used their front-loader to straighten two uprights that had been pushed askew long ago by the tree's roots. No charge to me (and I offered). This is a business that does things right. Also -- importantly -- the business is owned by an arborist, so assessment of a tree's viability is done by an expert, who doesn't recommend taking down a tree willy-nilly when a trimming will do. If you are looking for a reasonably priced tree service, look no further. Shull's did one heck of a job cutting my dead sugar maple down. We agreed for them to just cut the tree down and I would do the clean up. The gentlemen was fast and proficient with even piling the branches up as to make it easer for me to clean everything up! Very efficient and professional. We had 2 trees and stumps removed, they cleaned up everything and left our yard free of limbs and debris. The crew had to use our neighbors yard for access and used mats under the truck tires so as not to damage their lawn. Will definately use their service again. read more

The negative reviews look like a bunch of cry babies that didn't get their tree service ASAP. They trimmed my birch and jap. maple and cleaned up real well. I recommend. Got 3 different quotes. I called their office and left a voice mail - again no response. I am disappointed that they could not just say so if they did not want the job. Shull's was great to work with: They arrived when promised, they completed the work before the estimated time, and they cleaned up the site. The tree they removed was a black locust too, so considering it was a thorny tree I was impressed! And their service fee was affordable. Do not recommend. I signed paperwork, confirmed they received, waited two weeks reached no contact, I called twice to get a date of when they could do service. We had a date confirmed and they were a no show. I called again to see what happened, they apologized, and we rescheduled. They did a poor job, not what was quoted. We had them come back out and still didn't get it right, just removed a few branches from five trees, no shape up or trimming. We gave up and figured they weren't capable. They were the cheapest/best price out of quotes provided, but I'd have rather spent more and got the job done right the first time. Lesson learned- Buyer beware. read more
