I took advantage of Lowe's 365-day return policy for trees, shrubs, perennials, and evergreens. I purchased the two arbirvitae in December to sit in urns at my front door. I keep them watered, but I could still see them turning Brown by spring. I did know to keep my receipt and the tags on the arborvitae. The staff handling my return was pleasant. No problem returning, no questions asked. I received full credit for $44 x 2. I could not pass up a beautiful hydrangea bush, one gallon size, for $24.10, which I will also put in a pot. I was disappointed to have to return the dead evergreen bushes, but thankful Lowe's honored its policy. I will continue to shop at Lowe's for some of my summer flowers and evergreens; the prices are competitive. read more

Hmm I gather that many of these poor reviews are from years past because our experience was flawless. We needed to replace the fire extinguisher in the big rig - not having an operable one means a failed DOT inspection! I found one in store online and it was right in the aisle and bay indicated online. The self-serve registers were a bit complicated than others we've encountered however associates were standing by to help (Here's an idea - just pay people period to ring up customers. Corporate penny pinching tempts me to remove a star...). In and out in under 10 minutes. Great price point - $26 - and we live to drive another day. read more

I come here once in a while when it is convenient. The store seems to be a little smaller than the one in Mechanicsburg and I definitely have not had as a positive experience here as the one on the west shore. Selection seems to be a little less than the Carlisle Pike location. Getting in and out is not as easy and the parking lot is smaller. They don't recycle regular fluorescent bulbs at this location either. I do like the new self check out and it is usually pretty quick to get out of the store when you only have a few items. I have not used it yet, but they have online order pick up right at the front door. That's convenient. All in all a good Lowe's location. read more

Would give a zero star if they system would let me. One of the worst experiences we have had as a family. Purchased a kitchen appliances with all items having different lead times which is understandable due to the global supply chain issues we are all facing. Our first delivery was the dishwasher. Lowes missed the divert day no call no show. Next day their customer service team told me to call their third party logics team to find out what is going on. I was like that's is your job to find out where my purchase is not the customer. Then the following day they closed my order as delivered. After 4 days of frustrating discussions the corp lowes team finally got a hold of store management whom contacted the next day to tell me the order is on back order!!! I canceled the order and still waiting from my reimbursement 10 days later... The next item was the fridge and this one came no issue. The following item was the stove which had a confirmation delivery date for this Saturday . No communication from the store and another no call no show from the delivery team. After long and frustrating calls they inform me that the delivery is pushed back a month. I canceled the rest of my orders for my kitchen renovation and was handled professionally and straight forward by Home Depot. I expected better treatment for an almost 10k order. You have lost a long time customer lowes. By the reaction of you store management team, you and your teams could give a $&!! less. The store itself is fine if you know what you are looking for and shop ahead on the app to see where it is. The staff seem to be uninformed and uninterested in actually assisting customers. There was an employee stocking the hardware shelves and I inquired if they could help me find something. He replied that he didn't work in the hardware department but would call someone who did. I asked the employee who who showed up about the availability of a 1/4-20 X1/2 in screw. The employee responded that they had no idea what that was and that if I didn't see it, they don't have it. Later on the same visit we went to the garden center looking for clover seed. There was a staff member looking at his phone and I asked them where we might find any and again got the response that if I didn't see it, they don't have it. read more

Another horrible experience at this store! Nobody around who could help me with something I found on their webpage with specific item location in store and availability. After ringing that stupid bell for more than ten mins somebody showed up who had absolutely no idea what I was looking for. Found it on my own finally! After that check out at register. The cashier had less motivation than my dog to get up in the morning. No good morning, no nothing... awesome. Military discount just possible if u combine your classified government information with a my Lowe's card? WTF?!? Ain't not going to happen (anyway that's not this specific stores fault!) My credit card or their terminal wasn't working properly. No reaction from the cashier at all. Horrible customer service. Horrible delivery services. I am taking the undamaged and damaged items back today for a refund. This is the absolute last time I will go to Lowe's. I am shredding the credit card and will never step foot in there again. This is the Harrisburg PA Lowe's. We ordered $2000 of flooring and a fridge. Multiple boxes were delivered ripped open and damaged and the fridge was also damaged with a very large out facing dent along half the door. The delivery drivers were clueless and on their cell phones the entire time. I tried to refuse delivery but they would not take it back. I No one ever answers the phone at the store. After multiple trips it was supposed to be exchanged out today but of course it did not get put in the truck. A manager was supposed to call me this morning but "was very busy" so I had to call them to be told they will not be here today. Everything is going back for a refund and I will stick with Home Depot from now on. I see there are many bad reviews so I am sure this one will not go anywhere but to whoever monitors this page... Lowe's is not so big that customers do not matter. I called yesterday to determine if an order I placed for pickup at the store was ready for me, since I should have heard 2 days prior according to the info given to me when I placed the order. My call was answered by a lady who, after I explained that the product I ordered was a soap dispenser, transferred me to the appliance department. Of course, they couldn't help me so they transferred me back to the same incompetent (or very poorly trained) lady. After much discussion, she told me it would arrive and be ready for pick up in three days. I got home 45 minutes away from this Lowe's store, and received an email stating that my purchase had arrived and was ready for pick up. My wife and I arrived at the Lowe's "Pick-Up" counter and spent 15 minutes watching two employees 8 feet away from us conversing about non-customer non-Lowe's related topics, while two other employees walked repeatedly within inches of us without so much as even acknowledging that we existed. Eventually the conversing employees ended their conversation and one called us to come 3 registers over to the "Returns" place. She found my order in the computer and wandered to the back of the store to retrieve it. I really don't mind waiting in line when there are people ahead of me. However being ignored by four employees for fifteen minutes when there were absolutely no other customers even close by is outrageous. These people put themselves first and customers last. Actually, this speaks volumes about Lowe's hiring practices and even more about their employee training. Lowes has an outsized opinion of themselves to forgo due process in teaching employees how to treat customers. Remember Builder's Square and Hechingers? A company can never be too big to fail. Lowes delivery service is terrible. They called as a reminder that They would deliver my appliances between the hours of 8 to 12pm. They called at 3pm and said they were loading the truck. I informed them that I had been waiting all day. They said they were not sure what happened. But they would be there asap. They arrived at 530 pm. No explanation. The delivery people said they were over worked and tired and wanted to quit at that very moment. They said they had not prepared to take appliances up 2 flights of stairs. At that point I told them to just leave the items on the first floor and the contractors would take it upstairs. Lowes must do better. Customers can choose to spend their money elsewhere. read more

We bought a chest freezer online. We tracked the freezer as it was shipped from the warehouse to the store for delivery. As soon as it was delivered, we got a call telling us that they did not have the freezer and they would have to return our money. We had already waited a week and bought supplies to put into the freezer that were in out refrigerator. I believe someone from the store took the freezer since they are currently difficult to find. Worst customer experience that I've ever had. I purchased a washer/dryer from this location not long ago. They arranged for the appliances to be delivered in a week. First the delivery person calls me on the morning of delivery and tells me that he will be at my house at 11 am. He proceeds to show up at 10 am, right when I am in the shower. He then looks in my basement and says he will not move the appliances until I move shelves/cabinets on the stairwell. These are large shelves/cabinets that I could not move alone or get anyone on short notice to help move then. The delivery person makes no attempts to measure whether the appliances could be moved down the stairwell or makes no attempt to assist me in any way. Silly of me to think that I am paying $1000+ and this guy should try to be accommodating. He said that he would come back later. So then I call the Lowe's location to complain. First I click the deliveries options on the automated menu and explain what happened. The person who answered the phone tells me that I want the appliance department and hangs up on me! Once again, silly of me to think that since it was a delivery, I should select the delivery option. So I call back again, cannot get through to anyone. I call back again and I select the appliance option but get someone from general customer service. I explain to the person on the line what had happened. He transfers me to someone else who transfers me to someone else. That person then says that you need to talk this person who can resolve these types of issues. Apparently the resolution person does not answer her phone. By this time I was furious and decided I was going to cancel the order. So when I did cancel the order, the customer service person made no apologies or made no attempts to make the situation better. Had he done that, I may have kept the order. This told me how little this Lowe's location valued me as a customer who was spending $1000+. After that, I decided to buy the appliances from a small family-owned business that valued me as a customer. They mentioned that they get a lot of customers which switch to them because they are dissatisfied with Lowe's. read more

From the start to finish Lowes Harrisburg, PA sucks.. we ordered a washer & dryer set online due to son buying a new home, new construction with no size on the laundry closet area to use for size, and in the midst of COVID we had no idea that the set we ordered was to large for the space, and that when they did deliver the set the other parts, including washer water hoses,dryer plug wiring, dryers hose kit that was supposed to be along with the delivery had actually been forgotten at the store, and had to be delivered separately. When we finally received the connectors we figured out there was no space to close pantry doors that are bi-fold on closet. Anyway so we then had to go to to store and look for a set that fit and get them ordered and schedule the pick up of the other previously purchased set. They finally brought the new set a week and a half later, then picked up the 1st set. When I ordered the second set they told me that the charges from the 1st set would take a day to be refunded to my card, it has been two weeks, I have tried contacting management at Lowes Harrisburg a dozen times and either getting hung up on or no-one answers at all. I have been on hold literally for an hour at a time waiting to only be transferred and hung up on before "a manager" picks up or no-one answering in any department at all and no service desk reps either, this is sooooooo disrespectful. Sorry excuse for laziness and disrespect of customer. So I am going to get in the car and drive up there and do my very best to not get the police called on myself. We all need to get ahold of Menards and tell them we need a Menards home store here in Harrisburg, BLOWS LOWES AND HOME DEPOT AWAY !! I have tried to get them to build a store here , but they are family owned and told me 13 years ago maybe someday! look them up and email the owner... we will never need another Lowes store.. they really are fantastic! I realized back in December when we first started looking  at the house that we would eventually come to occupy that my little battery-operated Toro push-mower was not going to be hardy enough for a 1+ acre lot. Despite serving me very well over the last 5 years for smaller lots - and really providing me with an outstanding work-out all the while saving on gas and oil, a 1+ acre lot and that mower were going to be mutually exclusive. So, I began searching for a tractor. This brought me to Lowes, where they proudly stock a variety of tractors including Troy-Bilt, Husqvarna and John Deere. I have owned both Troy-Bilt and Husqvarna products in the past, so shopping at Lowe's would provide me with a familiar brand to check-out. Additionally, my move provided me with a fancy 10% off coupon which would be helpful when looking at a $1000+ purchase.   I arrived at Lowe's at about 7:00 on a Saturday night. There were two associates standing at their department's podium, chit-chatting. I sat on every darn mower in my price range. At any point did one of the associates disengage from their conversation to say 'hi', smile my way, or even provide one of those half-assed nods indicating that they recognized that there was a customer in their department? Nope... When I finally did have a question, I approached them, almost feeling bad for intruding on their riveting conversation - and asked for some help. From there, they seemed to be pretty knowledgeable and helpful; but the initial feeling I got was they were close to the end of their shift and would rather have b.s.'d the night away. Service: 2 / 5 Atmosphere: Ultimately, I like Lowe's better than Home Depot because their stores are brighter and more inviting. Home Depot always feels so depressing and gloomy. Additionally, typically Lowe's associates seem to care more than those at Home Depot. Lastly, I find things easier at Lowe's than at Home Depot. This particular Lowe's was really nice, well laid-out, clean, and inviting. Atmosphere: 4 / 5 Price: This category is pretty negligible since both big box stores run their own fancy promotions at one time or another, and both of them are pretty good. That said, I tend to find that Lowe's offers slightly better everyday prices on the items that I buy. Price: 4 / 5 Final Thoughts: If it is between Lowe's and Home Depot, I usually choose Lowe's. They have definitely let me down on multiple occasions, but somehow, that is only a fraction of the amount of times Home Depot has done so. I tend to like the smaller Tru Value, and other similar stores a little bit better in terms of service - but they don't have near the product selection that a Lowe's or HD does. Yesterday, I placed an online order for two packages of grommets totaling $2.69. I did so because Lowes online ordering and pickup is supposed to save me time. I arrived at the store in Harrisburg, PA to pickup the order, and only one person (Dom) was working in customer service. She was helping another line with returns. After a good 10 - 15 minutes I asked her to alternate between the two lines. She ignored me, did not even acknowledge that I had spoken. I asked her again several times, and each time it was if I had not even spoken. After I had been waiting at least 30 minutes, Donna showed up and punched in. She then proceeded to help a customer who TOLD HER that he had already been helped, despite my objections. It yet took another associate showing up after I had been waiting aver 40 minutes to get me these grommets! I took down the telephone number of the store manager as I left and called in, getting the service desk. They supposedly transferred me to Stephen, the manager, but I suspect it was not really him, Whoever I spoke with said that this was "unacceptable" and that he would talk to the two people I mentioned, but he did not want me coming back in to the store from the parking area from where I was calling when he did so. I am infuriated with the entire experience, and will most likely be taking my future business to Home depot. Although this purchase was small, I am the owner of an old home with an acre of property, and I have done a *lot* of business with Lowes in the past. read more

I contacted the Pro desk, the man told me I needed to speak with appliance, I stated that it was for a pick up of a return item. He told me he wasn't delivery either and hung up the phone. The store itself of course has everything one needs for home improvement. The employees on the floor are sparse and you wait for a long time to get help (30 minutes or more sometimes). But aren't all home improvement stores the same. Harrisburg Home Depot seems more on top of customer service I will add and waits are less. As in all home improvement stores the help is sometimes knowledgeable and sometimes not. It balances out. My two star rating is mostly about the home installation services. DO NOT use this from Lowes unless you have no other place to go. Oh yes, it seems to work efficiently and it is not that slow but the labor costs you are charged are way over maximum for anything like plumbing or electric. We are talking barely affordable. We were desperate when our water heater went at like 5 PM and so went there and made a contract. Work was completed in exactly 3 days to the hour. The labor charge came to like $250 an hour (I included travel time for the contractor). No crap! And that was not an "emergency" service. That was for the regular "take your time service." Please people, do not use Lowes for this type of service unless desperate (and you are wealthy). I first gave this store 2 stars but upped it to three because upper management at HQ decided I did pay to much, thanked me for my honesty (they wished more people would write in) and refunded a large portion of my bill. I came in to get a sink installed and it turned out to easily be one of the worst customer experiences of my life. Simply put Lowes and the Contractor they selected for me always took the maximum number of days to do anything and a couple of times they took longer. They were unresponsive to phone calls during this process and even lost my paperwork. The icing on the cake was when it came time for the Customer Survey at the end. They called me when I was busy and when I returned the call they said that I had already filled it out and that this process was over. I wish I could give them 1/2 star. read more

DONT USE THIS COMPANY! BLUECOLLAR CON They work as a contractor for Lowe's. I had a crank open skylight window in the bathroom that leaked and rotted the wood so I decided to get it replaced. The window was attached to the rotted wood originally. When I spoke with Lowe's specialist Tim I explained why we wanted it replaced. We wanted a fixed window. Tim said you will have to get the roof replaced that's the only way we will do it. I said ok. BLUE COLLER CONSTRUCTION removed only the old window left the rotted wood and put the new window on top of it. Then the project manager as Lowe's said Told them there was no rotted wood before they put the window in. Lies Juan is what you told. They delivered on top of my grass the product 3 weeks before the job and it rained so my grass was ruined in that area. Because Blue Collar applies the window to rotted wood air and small bugs can enter. Lowe's and Blue Collar refuses to correct their shady workmanship. DON'T HIRE THEM THEY DO SHADY WORK. read more

I used to enjoy coming into this location and getting fantastic customer service...Boom! not anymore. True customer service is few and very far between at the Lowes on Union Deposit Road. Is it possible to give 0 stars to an establishment. I went in on a Saturday evening needing a simply water supply adapter. After rummaging through the walls of mis-labeled and disorganized merchandise, decided to press the button for customer service. This was a big mistake on my part...some bald guy with glasses and a red vest says to me" I'll be with you in a few minutes, I'm with a customer." At this point I'm thinking "Am I not 'a customer'..." At the same time, I understand its busy so I waited....15 min later, I waited...tried to find the part myself and I waited some more. A half hour or so later I press the button again...and I waited. No response! I guess this is why it's better to shop online. This was a terrible experience, where are the managers...where are people who care, where is cross department training? Doesn't exist at this location! I walked out without making a purchase and I doubt if I'll walk in anytime in the near future based on this experience. I would've probably gotten more attention if I was spending $3499.99 on an appliance or if I stuffed merchandise into my clothing...who knows. I know what good customer service looks like. My husband and I are easy going, fair people. We have an older home and spend a lot of time and money remodeling. We go to lowes often. Most of the time we are in and out with minimal exposure to workers there. However on a few occasions we have had uncomfortable experiences with the workers at this lowes. For example, no one being knowledgeable enough to help us pick a correct cement for under our tile, one worker acting annoyed that we asked him to take the bathroom vanity up front for us since we weren't finished shopping, or another annoyed that I asked if the price was flexible on a returned item that was on clearance (which I've done at Lowes in Pottsville with no issues). However I'm compelled to write a review now because my husband and I had the worst experience there a few days ago. We were buying a suite of appliances and flooring. I'm talking fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, washer, and dryer. Easily a $5,000+ expenditure. I had done my research and price matched a few items with the sales person. No problems at all. She was super nice and knowledgeable. I had brought with me two coupons- one from hhgregg that offered an additional 10% off of their sale prices and another from lowes for 10% off. I asked the salesperson if I could use either coupon with my purchase. She told me she didn't think so for the price matched items especially but to go right up to customer service to check out and ask them. As we approached customer service two men were running it. There were no other customers. I approached and greeted the man behind the counter. He basically grunted at me and looked annoyed I was there. The other older man sat at a swivel chair behind a computer not doing anything. I asked him if they would match the hhgregg coupon. He looked at it. Told me it wasn't a coupon. I told him it definitely was one-if you read the fine print it had a code for hhgreg cashier to input. After this he got snippy with me and then complained that he didn't know what the lady in appliances was doing but he would match the coupon anyway. Listen-if he told me he couldn't match it for one reason or another I would have been fine, but he didn't say that. Instead he made my husband and I feel sooooo uncomfortable. During checkout I used my lowes card-he didn't ask if I wanted special financing or 5% off. In fact, he would barely talk to us. While checking out a line formed behind us and the older man stayed sitting in his swivel chair staring at us. A man with clearances to match the coupon came over and helped the other customers. Meanwhile this guy checked us out in the rudest manner possible complaining again about the lady in appliances because he didn't check us out for the washer and dryer. We had to do two transactions. Hence, he had to match the coupon twice. Anyway, my husband was furious the man was so rude to me in particular. My husband wanted to call the store manager. I told him to not waste his time. We left without getting our flooring because we were so aliemated by this guy. His name was Ken. The next day we went to the lowes in Pottsville. My husband was so happy with their customer service. They gave us tips on how to install up flooring. My husband checked out this time. He actually forgot to use a coupon we had yet. He went back in and they redid the transaction without any fuss at all and applied it. Kudos to them! We can't wait to buy our new roof supplies there! read more

I prefer this Lowes over the Derry st. Home Depot. The store itself is very well maintained and looks nicer overall. I have also found that their selection is better than Home Depot's on many hardware items. I do prefer Home Depot when it comes to the outdoor items though. The staff was extremely courteous and not pushy in the appliance department. They made some really good recommendation and were knowledable about the products. Also were super helpful in taking measurements when needed. The delivery service was not as good of an experience. They seemed reluctant to take back items when I wasn't satisfied and kind of conjoled me to keep them because they didnt want to make another trip down stairs. Wasn't a big deal in the end but felt kind of rushed. Overall a dependable store to get things for the home. read more

I am on a work assignment about 25 miles from Harrisburg, and am dealing with problems. I needed a safety harness for a scissors lift which was not delivered with the rental lift. Rather than losing another day of work, I drove to this location in the hope that they would have what I needed. I asked one employee who sent me to a display of tool belts, and then went to the contractor desk to see if I could get a real answer. The gentleman at the desk walked over to a display where he thought they were, and finding none, called another employee to see if they were in a different location. They did not have what I needed, but we were not done yet. He pulled out his Rolodex and called a supply company nearby, asking if they had the harness needed. When they said they did, he gave me directions to that location. He went above and beyond what was required and I was pleasantly shocked by the way I was treated. Like most of these warehouse-style places, it's very hard to find anyone to help you, and also very hard to find the stuff yourself. Why the trash can liners are not located near the trash cans is beyond me. There are batteries everywhere, though, so yeah. The garden department is pretty weak... they have this giant "greenhouse" but it has just a hand full of plants and is 80% filled with outdoor furniture and junk. Forget about asking for help. They tell you where a simple item like salt may be you check it's not there. You ask there and they send you back to same place that you started. I left there and bought my simple item at another store. ralph read more

Lowes does not have any idea how to keep a commitment. I am glad I sold my stock in Lowes a long time ago and I am surprised they are still in business. I have never even heard of customer service this poor let alone experienced it first hand. The only thing that I can say makes me feel good is the fact that I'm not alone. After reading the issues other people have had the amount of my time that they wasted and my trust that they lost seems small in comparison. They must be extremely low paying jobs or their employee training program is led by the Taliban. I am now convinced that any money that Lowes makes is purely by accident. read more

I've been to this Lowe's many times before, but yesterday was one of the WORST customer service experiences I have ever has with Lowes. Granted, it was a Saturday, but that shouldn't be an excuse, and this was particularly with the employees in the Plumbing Department. I had to ring the Alarm for customer service because there wasn't anyone in the area for several minutes. When a representative did come I asked for help finding a screw that holds the washer on the end of a valve stem. He acted like he was annoyed that I had set off the customer service alarm and told me, "we don't have them in plumbing, but I think they are standard thread", then he left. I had another plumbing question and went looking for a representative. I found them, the guy who hadn't provided help before, and three other representatives all standing and talking around one of the bathroom displays. Needless to say none of them provided much help with this request either. The sad part is that when I looked for the screw for the valve stem myself, I found it in the plumbing repair parts area, I was about to switch from that Lowe's to Home Depot permanently. read more
