I had an exceptional experience when buying a lawnmower from Lowe's. I initially went to customer service to inquire about a lawnmower I saw on the Lowe's app, the customer service staff answered all of my questions and even printed out warranty forms so I could read them before I committed to purchasing the mower. The lawnmower was not available in store and I chose to have it delivered and assembled at the store. Tony at customer service was great. He kept me informed on when it was delivered and the status of the assembly. I scheduled a time with Tony to pick it up and when I arrived he and another Lowe's employee brought it to my trailer and loaded it on for me. Only Home Depot, never Lowe's again. When the manufacturer s they promote mistreat us, Lowe's will side with the manufacturer. Not YOU. WE WENT AND ASKED IN PERSON THREE TIMES. This is the first negative review I have posted about Lowe's. In approximately 24 years, my husband and I have owned three homes. Each got new kitchens and laundry and we nearly always used GE. I have never called for help with a GE warranty- nor have I ever returned a major appliance. We bought a brand new 4.5 cu. ft. no frills GE washer on 4/6/25. After 5 weeks it died. GE has a 13 month old "concierge appliance service" called Bodewell. I called them and they said they have no technicians near us- North Jersey is the most densely populated state, But it seems like nobody wants to repair appliances for "Bodewell". But they got a third party company who sent a repairman from 3 hours away. Since Rt. 80 fell into a seven story deep chasm, there were delays. They refused to let me switch to someone closer. So, 4/6/25 we pick up a brand new machine. 5/14/25 it breaks. We work from home, there was no problem with appointments. 5/16, 5/19 and 5/26 The repairman came and replaced latch assembly, water pump and main board and relay, plus disassembling to make sure the filler tube wasn't clogged due to a known manufacturing defect. The repairman said that three tries was the limit, call up GE. I did over and over and they kept telling me they were emailing me. Finally, somebody discovers they have misspelled my email even though they had used it successfully for weeks. They also refused to return calls even though I told them I wasn't getting emails. Bodewell said they had zero evidence a repairman had been there 3x. The third party service provider assured us that they keep getting parts from GE for this machine- I have each one here with serial numbers and model numbers! Even the boxes with labels! Bodewell told me to chase down the repairman to chase down his boss instead of handling it because they had made the arrangements. Long story short, I took it out of the basement because I had been told they would take it back. They told me I would have to reinstall it in my basement down all the steps AGAIN because they wanted to try to fix it a fourth time. I wasn't concerned because I have never had a problem like this with GE. I felt pretty sure that when they found out how glitchy the process was, that I spent $250 on laundromats, $300 on a new used washer, $80 on a truck rental not to mention how sick with hemolytic anemia as I am through all of this... GE said they will not permit a return and return my money. I must accept the new washer as a replacement, and no they do not promise better service in the future. They didn't even think it was a problem. LOWE'S WILL NOT HAVE YOUR BACK. LOWE'S WILL ALLOW AN ABUSIVE DISORGANIZED MANUFACTURER TO SUBJECT YOU TO MORE OF THE SAME. Terrible customer service. My son and his girlfriend entered last night around 9pm to find door handles. He had a bag with purchased door handles that were previously bought there, and we needed more. Immediately several different employees approached him to state "these are not ours, nice try we are not refunding these" then another stated " we don't even have this brand here", Then after he found help elsewhere and got the door handles he told them the product was here and their reply was " well you know you have to buy them" ... unbelievable! He asked for a manager and one of the women stated she was a manager!! This is terrible customer service and I'm sure not what Lowe's wants to be known for! read more

I am not from the area and this is the only department location that I could locate around here. Also since it is a chain we knew the type of experience we would have. We came here at 5:00 PM on a Sunday and the parking lot was practically empty. Although there was barely any customers we walked around for a good 10 minutes trying to find someone to help us locate a few items we needed. When we finally found a staff member they were very friendly and informative just wish it didn't take so long to find help. Other than that it is your typical Lowe's department store like every other one. The prices are decent for certain items and the layout was very open. The decorations they still had up for Christmas looked nice and they were running multiple sales still on any left over holiday decor. All in all the experience was nothing out of the ordinary and the store was very clean and well organized. read more

On Saturday the 27th of October I went to Lowes in Hackettstown,NJ. I am learning to put up sheetrock and needed to buy several things. Anyway Rob, and Dominic were such a great help to me. Dominic was able to answer every question I had about my project and even went with me to get the things I need. The person in lumber, I think his name is Rob. Bought a Bosch dishwasher from Lowe's in Hackettstown. It was defective. Control panel just did not respond. We got the runaround from Lowe's. They had Bosch send a repairman who claimed it worked fine. Still didn't work. Tried calling Lowe's, but it was an endless cycle of being bounced around from dept to dept and being placed on hold for 45 minutes. Had to actually go there to get it resolved. They made the exchange and said the delivery/installer contractor would call the next day. That was 5 days ago and no word. Tried calling Lowe's again and I was put on hold and bounced around and finally hung up on!!! I've reported them to the BBB. Maybe they'll help get results. Shop elsewhere for big purchases unless you like defective products and being on hold forever. read more

Our experience has been beyond negative. We ordered a washer with a pedestal washer a month ago, and it's been a series of errors ever since. -Installation Attempt 1: Although no instructions were provided to us at time of ordering (at the store location), the delivery men indicated they would not install until we got the dryer out of the way. Ok, fine. They left the washer in the garage, and we subsequently removed the dryer.- - Installation Attempt 2: Although they told me they would deliver the washer on Saturday, they told my husband a date of Friday. He took off of work and they did not show. - Installation Attempt 3: They did show on Saturday, but the technician indicated he was not trained to install this type of washer- surprise, we needed a specialist. They moved the washer from the garage to upstairs - Installation Attempt 4: After Attempt 3, I called Lowes upset about the process. They indicated they would come today. We received a call yesterday they would come between 2 and 4. We both adjusted our work schedules to accommodate. I just called them and lo and behold, for some unknown reason someone at the store deleted us from the delivery route. -Installation Attempt 5: I am hoping this does not happen. At this point, I would like to return the washer & pedestal, and I am contacting Better Business Bureau. DO NOT waste your time and energy- go elsewhere. read more

Wow, I switched from Home Depot to lowes for many reasons , maybe it's time to switch back. Thanks to Amanda for being childish and disrespectful when I inquired about receiving my 5% off for using my lowes card in addition to a coupon I had. I explained to her that I had received both at another store but she said she couldn't do it....When I asked to speak to a manager to see if he knew how to do it, she childishly calls over the radio for a manager that may know the "magic code " to enter in the computer to which everyone had a laugh at my expense. Worst store ever!! Only reason I've gone back is out of convenience. Bought a stove, online said that store had one left but they said it wasn't in the store and they could deliver it the next week. Waiting around for the delivery, in the time frame they said they'd be there, and they never came. Only to get a phone call the next day that they'd come that day instead. which didn't work because I'd taken the day before off to wait for them. Well, short story, 2 weeks later still no oven! Went to the store and told me they lost it. After calling Lowe's inc from the store we finally took one home with our own truck! Customer service is terrible! Tonight we wanted to by stone for our backyard and were told we would have to wait for one guy to come back from his break for someone to help could help us. Also wanted us to come back the next day because they didn't want to help us with the stone because it was raining. I guess back to Home Depot! read more

DO NOT SHOP HERE- it has been the WORST experience I've ever had with a store. Our landlord purchased a new oven for our apartment. We received a call that our oven would be delivered on Saturday, October 3rd between 12pm-2pm. Long after 2pm, there was no delivery or even a single phone call. We called the third part delivery service, XPO Last Mile Delivery Service, spend an hour on hold, and the customer service rep tells us they will call back in a half an hour to update us on our delivery. When they do call us back, they tell us the oven was NEVER put on the truck to go out for delivery. So, we spent an ENTIRE day waiting for an oven that was never even coming. They then tell us the oven is going to come the following day, Sunday, October 4th. The oven finally arrives on Sunday, however the delivery men cannot install it because the connection hose connects to the gas behind the wall, which the delivery men tell us they cannot knock down. The delivery men tell us to have our maintenance man knock down part of the wall to access the gas, and then we can call Lowe's again for installation and they will remove the old oven. This is not a problem and we call our maintenance man the following day who does as asked. We call Lowe's again to set up a time for installation and removal of our old oven. We set a time for Sunday, October 11th. We actually receive two phone calls Saturday night, each telling us a different time. My fiancé even calls customer service to confirm the delivery time window of 12pm-2pm. We wait 30 minutes after our time window to call customer service. We called customer service, who again tell us they will call back within 30 minutes with an update on our delivery. No one ever called back. We called a total of SEVEN times, with each person telling us they would call back in 30 minutes and not one person ever call back. No one could give us a straight answer as to what was going on. One person tells us that the delivery driver never showed up for work, one woman tells us we were never put on the schedule to begin with and that our ticket has been closed out. We spent all afternoon, and evening, waiting and calling this company until 9pm at night. Again, another day completely wasted waiting for their third party delivery service. I am so furious I am shaking. Then we are told we will receive a call to set an appointment for today, Monday, October 12th, between the hours of 6am-9am. I'm sure as you could've guessed by now, we NEVER received a phone call. My fiancé called to speak to the manager and he tells us what we already know, that we need to call them to set up an appointment for installation and removal, which is EXACTLY what we have done in the first place and no one showed up! We've waisted two afternoons waiting around for service that never came, we've gone TWO WEEKS without a working oven, and now we need to take off of work and wait for the delivery men because of Lowe's and this third party company's incompetence. I will NEVER make any purchase from this company as it has been an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE dealing with Lowe's. I will tell everyone I can what a terrible experience this has been so that they don't have to have the same experience that I have had. This is absolutely ludicrous and this is not what I expected from a store of this caliber. read more

This place has gone way downhill from when I was there last year. Went to look for some mums and mulch also looking for new planter pots for my inside plants. The whole garden center was unorganized and filthy. Half empty pallets in the walk area which is a hazard, plus broken bags of mulch not to mention the plants look like leftovers. Forget about asking for help, the young man who was there was clueless. read more

Hackettstown Lowes is the worst. It took 18 months to get garage cabinets and some of them are still damaged. Between ordering online, 1800 customer service and store managers nobody knows how to handle simple tasks. After that experience all larger purchases are done at the Home Depot or online but not at Lowes. read more

If I could give this store zero stars I would. We went in to purchase materials for a fire pit. It was recommended by a store employee to use the fire pit kit which was out of stock. We were advised deliveries come multiple times a week and that an employee would reach out to us directly when they came in. We were also told we could not order this item online for delivery. We did not get a phone call but weeks later happened to be in Lowe's and saw they were restocked. Due to the weight of the item we requested delivery which costs $65. We could not get a delivery date until 2 weeks later. The evening before the delivery we were advised the delivery had to be rescheduled because the employees scheduled the wrong type of truck at checkout and no trucks of that kind were available. We were advised the delivery wouldn't be able to be completed for another week. After speaking to a manager and at our own request the delivery charge was waved and the delivery was scheduled for today (3 days after the original date) we were notified via text our delivery window was 9-1. After checking back a new time was set for 10-2:30. With no delivery here at 2:30 we called and then were advised it would be here within the hour. It's 4:30pm and I have been on hold with customer service for 25 minutes with absolutely no answer as to where my delivery is. I then called the store and asked to speak to a store manager. Three times so called customer service employees blind transferred me back in to the queue. I called a fourth time and was able to get an assistant me manager on the phone and am now being told it will be here before 6. This store is pathetic. read more

Would have been 5 stars because the store is clean, organized and today we were helped by 2 amazing employees while picking out paint. They actually worked like they enjoy their jobs. I believe their names were Kevin and Ann or Anna. When we tried to check out is where things went sideways. 1 register light was on which was also connected to customer service. The employee was helping a customer and without even looking at us she said "this is going to take a while". My wife then asked if another register was open to which the employee pointed to another register where there was an employee but the register light was not on. So my wife told her the light was not on and asked if the other register was open. The woman at customer service didn't even acknowledge what my wife said. read more

So I went into Lowe's today and had yet another bad experience. This is the second one in six months. The first time was back in February when I was making a large purchase (washer and dryer)and couldn't get anyone to help me. The sales people literally ignored me. I engaged the manager who assisted and I completed the purchase. I walked out of there thinking why did I spend my money here when I could've easily gone to Home Depot or Sears who had similar items at similar prices. I went there again today to get a carpet cleaner and the sales person was so rude and could not be bothered. Again I had to engage a manager who handled the situation for me. It's just crazy because I shouldn't have to get a manager to make a purchase at Lowe's. I don't know if they are just hiring the wrong staff, not providing customer service training or what...because it is very clear to me that their sales people just don't care st all. This store has AWFUL customer service and I would give it zero stars if I could. I purchased a new washer and dryer to be delivered. On the first delivery attempt, they arrived 2 hours early on a Sunday morning, with unboxed, scratched appliances. I declined that order and had to go back to the store to schedule another delivery, 5 days later. The night before the second delivery attempt I was told the delivery would arrive between 12 - 2pm. After 2pm came and went, I called the delivery service, waited on hold for 20 minutes, then was told I don't have a confirmed delivery window and they could show up anytime until 7pm. At this point I was so frustrated from them screwing up not 1 but 2 deliveries that I cancelled the order altogether. I had also ordered a new dishwasher from them to arrive next week, but I'll be cancelling that as well and getting a refund. On top of that, when I called the store manager to explain everything that had occurred, she didn't even bother to apologize or to try lend help to the situation whatsoever. Thanks Lowes of Hackettstown, you just lost $2,000, I'm sure I won't be the last unsatisfied customer. read more

I ordered a dryer with next day delivery. I received no email confirmation and got no call notifying me when the delivery would be. When I called Lowe's, they told me it would be coming the following day, which was two days after I ordered it. When they came to deliver the dryer on a Friday, they did not have the necessary vent kit that I had also purchased and said that they would be able to deliver the dryer but not install it. Once they realize that was their fault, they suddenly found an extra vent kit in the truck. They installed the dryer and left, and then I realized it was defective and didn't heat up. I called the store and they told me they would arrange to have a new dryer delivered and would call me to confirm, and that the earliest they would be able to deliver it would be Monday. I received no call. I called the store and was told the delivery manager was not in and that another manager would call me back shortly. I never received a call back. Lowe's lack of follow through and unprofessionalism has certainly lost them a customer. read more
