Some Jewish men stereotypes are that we are good providers but not good athletes. We are clever but not handy. I have to laugh at all of that because in my case it's true! What's even more scary is that I was considered the handy one in my family. I knew how to change a light bulb and water a plant and put together a model with glue and paint. That's how low the bar was set in my family! My grandfather on the other hand contradicted the stereotype. He was an incredibly successful plumber and incredibly handy. I even remember when I was a young starving actor in New York living on the Upper East side, he installed a shower in my bathtub which sat in the middle of my kitchen! He then installed a shower curtain holder so I could have privacy showering while my roommate was sitting right there having coffee with his girlfriend. You cannot make this stuff up! Which brings me to Lowe's. I like Lowe's. Anything I can possibly want for my home is there. I also appreciate that there are many locations in that there have been times when I wanted something and it was not in that store and they were very accommodating to send me to another store and put it on hold or get it sent to their store for me. Plenty of variety, plenty to choose from and thank God for the people that work there because I have absolutely no clue! When I walk into Lowe's I feel like I am a bull in a China shop. I wish I had the talent to build a table or retile my floor or paint my kitchen a new color or replace the ceiling fan or build a rose garden. Reality is, I'm better off working hard and earning a little extra money and paying some talented person to do that for me. I take my hat off to the men and women that file into Lowe's and leave with all these raw materials to build something beautiful with their own hands. That amazes me! I may not be the handiest guy in the world, but I appreciate a store well stocked with good staff and is understanding of someone like me with little knowledge and little ability! I thrive in the garden department and panic at the sight of a pipe or a piece of lumber. But, when all is said and done.... I really like like Lowe's! read more

Lowe's Home Improvement - This is the one at Cone Boulevard which I often go to! Everything is in there!! - Hardware Stores Near Me - Greensboro, North Carolina

This is a surprisingly large and well stocked Lowe's for where it is. I would have expected this to be a smaller store but it's considerably larger than my closest store which is way out on the interstate with lot's of room - and one I would expect to be larger. I don't know how Lowe's ranks stores but they obviously have some classification because there seem to be 4-5 store types ranging from very contractor focused to almost exclusively interior design shopping. This one is the type I like the most, it's a bit of everything and what you think of when you think of a box hardware store. read more

I stopped by here around 2:35pm on a Wednesday to get a toilet. They were on aisle 30. There were SO MANY options!! The toilet was heavier than I thought. I'm not sure why I thought I could carry a toilet in the first place honestly lol. I had to go to the complete other side of store to get a flatbed cart because there weren't any on that side. Then I went to self checkout, paid, and loaded it up. I bought a round toilet. When I got home, I thought my toilet looked elongated, so I took it back and returned it and got an elongated one. Then I realized that my toilet was actually original round, lol. However, elongated is more comfortable from my research and it fit. So, win win for me. It took me a long time to put it together alone, mainly because it was my first time and I wanted to ensure I was doing it right. Overall, decent experience. Returning was a breeze. No one asked if I needed assistance at all though as I was looking at toilets or pushing it out/in. read more

Well that good feeling about this location was short lived. We will see if they make this right. The girl loading my concrete boards into my car, rammed one of them into my bumper and scratched my car. Now I have to get my car fixed. They said I can get a quote and they will fix it. The manager was very nice about it and I know she didn't mean it, but sigh...I am only writing this as a reminder for curbside pick up to be cautious with bigger items being loaded. Take notice if you see the worker struggling to load it, ask for additional help. read more

Lowe's Home Improvement - Scratched my vehicle while loading online order - Hardware Stores Near Me - Greensboro, North Carolina

This location is absolutely AWFUL. I'll never go there again. I usually go to the Battleground location where they're always helpful, friendly, and approachable. Today bc if where I was, I went to the Cone blvd location. I was simply wanting a propane tank. Paid for it, and was told someone was coming to get it. 12 min later, went back in to check, I STILL didnt have the tank. Asked the girl at the door, she said someone had to come with the key. She's coming. -another 20 min later (I was looking at the clock at this point) no one came. I walked in and asked for a refund bc this is crazy. Get to customer Service and she was rude as fuck. I asked for a manager , she said she didn't know where they were. At this point, we're at 30 damn minutes to get a propane tank. I got my refund after 5 more minutes of standing at the counter waiting for and asking for a manager, 3 times. There needs to be a better system. This store sucks ass. read more

First... No idea why it has SF, I live in NC. Ok... this was a horrible experience. Total screwups 8/26 - order a handicap toilet from lowe's with installation from Angi... I thought the $300 charge for install was ridiculous, but hey... Let's get it done. 8/27 - Get notice they will install on Monday 9/2... Labor day.. between 8-11 am. I cancel my plans for the day... note 5 year old home, first floor, no complications. 9/2 - Installers are no show. No call. No Notice. I call Angi's, they don't apologize but they will re-schedule. Reschedule for Friday 9/6 1-3 pm 9/6 - 11:30 am. Text from Angi telling me to reschedule for Monday 9/9 Noon-3 pm. At least they notified me this time. 9/9. Get call at 2:00 pm from installer, he is running late. He gets to my place about 3:30. Brings in toilet. Starts to unbox, then realizes toilet is broken. Puts toilet in box, parks it in my garage... and leaves to do his next appointment. So far I am down $600 and have nothing but a broken toilet sitting in my garage. 9/9 7:00 pm. After many calls to to Lowe's installation and Angi... Installer shows up, picks up toilet to exchange. Does not exchange, returns toilet. Lowe's issue me a refund and cancels the install order without telling me. 9/10 - I call angis. They say they will schedule me in 3 days. I call lowes... Find order and install were cancelled. They tell me they will try to resolve.... As of right now, I have my money back but have wasted two weeks.... And have no idea what happens next. How happy would you be with this service... Waited two weeks, got nothing but headaches. read more

Customer service has hung up on me three times this morning. I have been polite but insistent with them, because Lowe's has made 3 major mistakes with my order that was supposed to be delivered yesterday. I am a very patient and forgiving person, and I would love to work out the problem with my order, but when I ask to speak with a supervisor, I am placed on hold for 10 minutes and then disconnected. Now Customer service will not even pick up the phone when I call - they let it ring for 10 minutes and then hang up. read more

I was needing help with locating a part for my mower this morning. I saw a "Lowe's Associate" a term that I use loosely since he looked more like he was in the "hood". I asked him if he worked in the department, and he looked at me. I again asked him if he worked in the department. He said, "What?" He just pointed in the direction. I told him, "That's AWESOME CUSTOMER SERVICE!"As he walked away. Way to go, Devon! You rock those dreads!!!!! Really, Devon??? As I think about your poor customer service, Devon, I believe you need to go to the garden section and hang out with the guy that has an ankle bracelet, at least he asked me if how many bales of straw I needed. This location is a perfect location for me as it's about 5mins from my house. To often to my dismay they have specials marketed that aren't in fact in stock when I go there--thus having to drive to battleground location. The customer service is great as a whole and there store manager(assistant) Patrick was hugely helpful as well as *Maria(front end manager?) I'll elaborate below In short we built a house and needed lots of appliances--we took advantage of a financing special for 72 months with nominal interest. Minimum purchase of $3500 The delivery people where great and on time. The problem was a damaged item; no it wasn't much nor did it effect the mechanics, but they did give us a $200 credit. Yay! Not so much as they gave this credit from our purchase which dropped our amount to less than $3500.....guess what we all of the sudden didn't qualify for?...The financing we needed to have made the purchase at all. After some words exchanged and my attempt to schedule their pickup of said appliances for a full return. In short the manager Patrick and *Maria worked some behinds the scenes magick and have my whole situation now tied to 2 separate 36month 0% financing programs broken up to correlate when one times out. Seems like it will work well enough; we have Patrick's card and all assorted paperwork just assuming more issues as a whole. read more

I do love this Lowe's. The people are friendly and will actively ask if you need help. I never have to go far to find someone to help with my inquiries even if it is 30 minutes before they close and I need a few wood sheets cut. I love bringing our toddler her on Friday nights and early Saturday before it gets busy and letting him run up and down the aisles. read more

Just finished talking to Jack (service manager) at Lowes. My wife and I bought a Frigidaire refrigerator 1 year and 2 months ago and have had numerous issues with it. We were told we did not qualify for an exchange but Jack listened patiently to our issues and gladly exchanged it for a new one!!! He gave us a similar replacement that cost several hundred dollars more for an even swap, delivered!!! You can't beat great customer service! Jack was awesome to work with. Thanks to Tia for recognizing our issue and bringing it to his attention. Nothing but Lowes for us. Since that happened, The company we bought the extended service from, said we could not roll our service over into a new appliance. My wife called Jack and he said that we could come and see him, he would refund our old service agreement and we could purchase a new one! Above and beyond, Amazing customer service!! read more

I wish I didn't have to drive to this side of town to visit the nicest Lowes in town! They clearly have the largest selection of most items, especially in their garden area. The store itself is great, but keep your doors locked in the parking lot and beware of solicitors walking around. read more

Most of the time I have been pleased Not today. What is the purpose of the"my Lowes card". I was told when I first got the card that my purchases could be looked up if I did not have my receipt. Well today that was not the policy. I tried to return a faulty product around 4. Not once did the representative look up my Lowes card. She said that she could not find it if I did not have an item number. Another gentleman was having the same problem. Needless to say, they no longer had my item in stock no his So much for the My Lowes card. And so much for Lowes for me. Home Depot here I come read more
