I brought my sister to this store in hopes for her to find some extra Christmas goodies for her house. While looking around, I saw this Christmas Tree candle and had to have it. Unfortunately the display was the only one in the color and size I needed. A store manager just happened to be walking by and asked if I needed anything. After checking their under stock, she was willing to sell the display to me. After removing the batteries from the it, she boxed it up and asked if I needed anything additional. I told her I was still looking and she indicated if I needed anything additional to let her know. The customer service was beyond excellent in my opinion and now that I know all the awesome goodies they have, I will definitely be back for future items.

Very attractive and well made but I just couldn't bring myself to spend thousands!

Having lived in Greensboro 1974 thru 1976 while getting my MFA at UNCG, I marvel today at the restaurants or stores, though they are few, that have survived all these years and still have a presence today. That's amazing! My hat is off to them!! Back in the '70's I remember going to the K&W cafeteria for lunch. I remember going to Toys and Company for kid's gifts at Friendly Shopping Center, and speaking of Friendly Shopping Center, I always headed to Fleet-Plummer for my hardware needs. I don't know if I ever told you this funny little story, but when I moved into my studio apartment on Mendenhall Street when I attended UNCG in the summer of 1974, I was missing New York Jewish food. I asked my landlady where I can find some bagels and she sent me to the frozen section of the grocery store for Lenders Bagels, and when I asked her where I could get some lox she replied, "Sugah, you can get all the locks you want at Fleet Plummer Hardware at Friendly Shopping center!!" As years went on Fleet Plummer left friendly and resituated themselves right off of Battleground Avenue. That's where they stand today as I headed up there the other day by myself to buy a nice outdoor dining room table and chairs for my new screened in back porch. They had a nice selection which I appreciated. You could tell that everything was very finely made of the highest quality. I had tried a couple of other stores like Ashley Furniture and Lowe's early that day, but Ashley had barely anything and Lowe's only had a few sets as well. This all looked very promising as soon as I arrived because outside in front of the store were several outdoor chairs, benches and tables. I headed inside and the selection at first glance looked more than ample for me to be able to find what I'm looking for. As I looked closer, I noticed that there were no options for a square or smaller rectangular table and therefore I zeroed in on their round tables. As solid and well made as they were, I just could not wrap myself around spending around $3,000 for a small round table and four chairs. I couldn't understand why the Ashley four top was $599 and this was $3,000? I just could not do it; not to mention I would have to wait a few months to get it and it does not come with pillows and there is still tax and delivery delivery. I was disappointed because I really wanted to buy something and I was willing to spend a few dollars but that was a bit much for me. I wanted something for my new screened porch. As I started to leave, I noticed in the window a really neat looking rolling cart. Although it was not specifically made for outdoors, it was made out of wood and metal and should be fine since my porch is covered, shaded and screened. It was $200 which also surprised me, but after looking at a $3,000 ticket item, suddenly $200 felt like chump change. What I liked about it was that it was attractive, simple, and could fit in my backseat so I could bring it home with me! I bought it!! Building my back screened porch and buying a sectional from Casual Furniture World and looking at outdoor dining sets at Fleet Plummer has given me a small glimpse into the way most people live, and why it's so easy to fall into debt. Unless you are well off, who can buy things like an outdoor sectional for $4500 and a outdoor cafe table for $3,000 on a regular basis? You put those kinds of things on your charge card regularly and you are screwed for life! Thank God, Grandpa taught me to pay with cash and this was a gift from my mom who passed away this year and left me an inheritance. Unfortunately, I did not see much more of Fleet Plummer in that I was focused on one thing, although I ended up buying something other than what I came in for! LOL . I cannot tell you what else was in the store, but if you are looking for outdoor furniture and have a few dollars in your pocket, they have some really nice things. But as for me, I stopped by Habitat for Humanity on the way home and picked up a nice round table for $45. I'll pick up a couple of outdoor chairs for 50 bucks at Walmart and I'll be fine for now!

My wife and I went into Fleet Plummer and they weren't very busy, several ladies at the front register, but no one spoke to us. No one said hello, or welcome to Fleet Plummer. We walked over to look at Grills! They have a Great selection of Big Green Egg Grills, Traeger Pellet Grills, and Weber Grills. There was one employee helping another customer while I was browsing, and another employee behind a counter 6-8 feet away. The employee behind the counter never spoke to us once. He didn't ask if he could help or even acknowledge our presence. When we were leaving no one said thanks for coming in or have a good evening or anything. I would never ever spend my money in a store that doesn't care about the customer. I don't know why they didn't speak, but I will never be back!

We bought this outdoor, USA made, furniture at Fleet plumber. It's made by Breezesta.

These people have no knowledge of the products they carry. Their customer service is terrible. The entire store is overpriced and snooty.

I have learned over the years that whether you have money or not, if you grew up in a household…read morewhere things were difficult financially and daily sacrifices had to be made and things we desired needed to be put on hold on a daily basis, those feelings never really leave you. I have a friend Michael who is a successful psychiatrist out in Los Angeles. He has done very well for himself and has certainly put in the years and years of hard work and dedication in his field to achieve his success. We will often find ourselves fretting over something that costs us an extra $20 as if we were back in the Bronx when our parents lived from paycheck to paycheck. I remember my Grandmother, may she rest in peace, would literally run from store to store to store when she did grocery shopping to save a few pennies here or there. And I am the exact same way. Always shopping at thrift stores, always walking to the back of the store to see what is on sale or needs to be liquidated. Always looking at the price on the menu and not focusing on what I really want. It has served me well in that I have never been in debt, but there is some element of feeling I'm not deserving of something off the top shelf. I finally broke out of my box this weekend as I headed to Casual Furniture World up on Lawndale Avenue with the spirit of my Mom with me the entire time. Mom would yell at me all the time in a loving way, "Why do you always buy second hand clothes and furniture? You work so hard. Why don't you reward yourself and get something nice and new? Why do you always get an old used car? Why don't you treat yourself? You earned the money. You're not asking anybody for anything. You deserve it!" With Mom's voice in my head and heart I drove up Lawndale to Casual Furniture World. As soon as I walked in and saw the salesmen and all the beautiful stuff I got nervous. I'm not used to this. They professionally left me alone for a while as I wandered around looking at gorgeous outdoor fireplaces and tables and chairs and couches and anything you could possibly think of. Eventually a salesman named Jim approached me and asked me if I needed help and the journey began. Jim and I zeroed in on three outdoor sectionals; two wicker sets and one teak wood. I found Jim to be helpful but not pushy and after he quoted me what each of those sectionals would cost and I clutched my pearls, I asked for a little time on my own to make a decision As I walked around contemplating making a $4,000 investment, I was in awe of the gorgeous inventory they had at that place. Nothing is cheap but everything looks quality. They had everything from sectionals to chairs to tables to benches to umbrellas to outdoor fire pits and fireplaces. I kept circling around to this one set that caught my eye. I could just envision myself relaxing on that sectional or even moving some of the pillows and taking a nap on my new screened in porch. But $4,000 when I could get something like this at Home Depot for a fraction of the cost kept tugging at me. And then suddenly I heard Mom's voice and she reminded me that I am buying this furniture and built my screened in porch from the money she left me when she passed last year from covid. On top of that, I could not stop thinking about all the families that within one moment were stricken with tragedy when that condo collapsed in Florida just a few miles from where my grandparents used to have a condo in North Miami Beach. In the end I listened to my Mom like I usually did and purchased the beautiful set. What was even more fun is that the pillows are custom made so I got to pick out some cool colors and not the usual gray black and tan that I usually get. I forgot to ask how long it takes and when they told me 8 to 10 weeks I was kind of shocked but then I had to remember that we are still dealing with the pandemic and nice things take time. I put down my deposit and headed on out and then noticed that they share the space with New Garden Nursery which I had not been to in many years. Cool! As I sat on my almost finished screened in porch this morning with a cup of coffee, I could not help but think how blessed I was to have my beautiful mother for 92 years and that she was giving me this porch and that beautiful outdoor furniture sectional as a gift. How lucky am I? I cannot tell you if there are other stores like Casual Furniture World in the Greensboro area but if you are looking for quality and a large inventory and great service, I was very impressed with this place. In a couple of months I will be sitting on it, hosting friends on it and at night when I remove the pillows and sleep with the sounds of the crickets and birds, I will remember how blessed I am and how much Mom and I loved nature. Moral of the story... Once in a while it's good to just go for it and treat yourself. You deserve it and time is short! Right, Mom??

They sell everything for indoor and outdoor, furniture, decor, bedding and so much more. We found their carpet section, which offered a huge selection, many of which came in varying sizes. We had trouble finding a specific carpet we saw on the racks, so pushed a button on the end of the aisle to call an assosciate, and I've got to admit, I was surprised when she not only showed up, but in just a few minutes. At Home gets bonus point for that, unlike other stores, where you can push the button, and no one ever comes to help. In the end, we found the carpet, along with a few other small items. Pricing, is very reasonable, that being said, most of their products probably aren't meant to last a life time, but you get what you pay for, and if you take care of your stuff, it will hold up. I'll definitely be returning in the spring to pick up some outdoor patio seating!

Myself and 2 colleagues were on our way to an evening event at a hotel in downtown Greensboro. I was not familiar with the location of the hotel and took a wrong turn down a dead end street so I pulled into the Zeto parking lot to turn around , confirm the hotel address and reset my GPS. It was closing time for Zeto so the owner was locking up the door at the same time. She sees me pull in and starts gesturing wildly to get out of her parking lot, then (before I can even put my car into drive) she jumps in her car and drives straight at my car while flashing her lights and boxing me in. I had to back up and drive around her car (which I immediately did) while she continued to wave her hands and point at the exit. Completely rude and uncalled for as we'd literally been in the parking lot for less than 2 minutes as I reset the GPS address and had no intention of parking there. I do understand that her parking lot is surrounded by apartments and she may have had a problem with people parking there in the past but this was very bizarre behavior for a business owner that should care about the community and act professionally. The unfortunate part is all 3 of us in the car were regular, frequent customers and enjoyed her store. After her over-the-top rudeness, we all agreed we'd never step foot in Zeto again. She lost 3 customers due to her behavior! We won't support businesses that treat others so poorly. I hope she will, in the future, take a breath and assess the situation before acting so inappropriately toward people.
