I had an extremely disappointing experience with Lowe's regarding a door purchase and installation. On September 18, 2025, I paid $5,991 for interior doors with professional installation included. The contract listed an estimated delivery date of October 18 and completion by November 17. Installation was scheduled through Lowe's Installation Partners for December 17, specifically to ensure the doors were installed before the holidays. The doors were delivered, but the installation never occurred. On December 17, the contractor no-called, no-showed. Lowe's did not intervene, escalate, or provide a solution. Instead, I was told to wait an additional month for installation, with a proposed date in mid-January. As a result, my living room is now filled with uninstalled doors and construction materials, with guests arriving for the holidays. I only accepted delivery because Lowe's assured me the installation would be completed as scheduled. When I requested cancellation and a full refund due to Lowe's failure to perform, I was told I would be charged a 20% restocking fee for "special order" doors--even though they were not custom-made. This experience shows a complete lack of coordination between Lowe's and its installers and no accountability when commitments are missed. Do not offer services you cannot commit to or fail to proactively manage. Given what has already occurred, I have no confidence that the doors would even be installed after another month of waiting. I would strongly caution anyone considering Lowe's installation services to look elsewhere. read more

I went in to get potting soil once I got home and I planted my palm tree I noticed the smell of the soil was horrible. I thought okay no big deal it's soil. A few days later I had worms and flies alll over my plants. I had to throw away one of them and was only able to save one. As to the store experience the staff was very nice and helpful. read more

We needed help with a smart lock and one employee helped but then grabbed another to get another opinion so we'd be happy with our purchase. Hands down the best lowes we've been to. Ordered some handles for our new cabinets online for pickup late on a Thursday evening. I went to the store first thing on Friday morning at 6 am and they filled the order in less than 10 minutes. Very friendly staff, I also did some quick shopping while I was there. I was impressed with the wide variety of grilling tools, charcoal and even propane that they had in the store. I got my cabinet handles and they look great on my cabinets. Very positive experience at Lowes, I had several people there ask me if I needed anything. I also make sure that I use by lowes rewards card when I am there in case I need to return something and I lose by receipt. Works well. Great Lowes location! read more

Wow, Lowe's Garden Center in Chesterfield Valley, St Louis County, was a horrible experience today. Can anyone say, "no help?" or "nobody knows anything?".... carts overflowing into the parking lot roads. I tried to by twelve $75 bags of fertilizer. Nobody knew the difference in the fertilizer, they could only point in the direction where there might be carts, they couldn't help me find if there was more inventory, told me they were just cashiers and didn't know about the products, or "I just know about flowers" .... I could go on, and on. It has been a couple hours and I am still furious that America has such bad retail service. I am finding an Ace Hardware and driving the extra 5 miles just to not give a dime of my business to Lowe's. Enough said! read more

I bought my first and last appliance from Lowe's. Total amateurs. It was a painful experience from the beginning to end. To start it took 3 visits to actually meet an "Appliance Person". They are often not there during business hours. Other people will try to help, but admit they don't know much. After having a manager from another department help me find a refrigerator, we scheduled a delivery for the following Friday. I had to take all day off of work because they can't give you anything but a particular day. When they arrived they were supposed to hook up an ice maker to the refrigerator. They told me they knowingly brought a defective ice maker. WHY? I was told Chesterfield didn't have any working ones, but many of the other Lowe's locations did, and I'd have to schedule another day to get it. I guess their idea of customer service is instead of arranging a working one, which they had all week to do, that it's better to make customers spend another day at home. After several calls I finally got a hold of the GM who arranged for a working ice maker later that day. After a week, I knew I did not like the model they delivered. Not Lowe's fault, but they offer a 30 day guarantee. When I called, the appliance person said I'd have to come in to find a replacement. I asked to make sure they had more choices in the size I needed before I drove all the way there again. He said I'd just have to come in and look. When I got there, there were no appliance people working, as they had left early. There were also no other refrigerators in my size. I was then helped by a girl from another department, who helped me find a replacement online. Of course this could have been done over the phone. I paid for the 2nd refrigerator and was told the 1st one would be refunded as soon as they brought it back when they swapped them out. It would be 3 weeks to get the one I wanted. Fine. A day before the 2nd was to be delivered, I called Lowe's to verify we were still good to go. I was told no problem and they'd call me in the morning to give me a little better idea of when they might show up. The next morning I instead got a call saying that it never came in?? Okay...so we pushed the delivery up one more week. A week later the new one was delivered the old one taken away. A day later I keep hearing a buzz... I pull it out from the wall to find a giant puddle of water where the delivery person didn't tightly connect the waterline to the ice maker. I fixed this along with a temporary fix for the buzz which is a fan issue. Two days later. I get a call from Lowe's. " Hi. We just want to confirm your delivery for Tuesday". I say that's going to be tough because you already delivered this on the weekend. I ask if they can confirm my refund for the first refrigerator. Lowe's: "Um yeah let me check on that and we'll call you to confirm". Of course no call back. Today 3 weeks after delivery of 2nd refrigerator... No refund from Lowe's on my card. I'm pissed. I drive up there, get the girl to refund my card. No apology, or hint of care that they screwed up and a customer was inconvenienced. Now I look at reviews of this location, and what I read shows that I'm not alone. Maybe other Lowe's are better. I'm ashamed to say I'm a small stockholder in this kind of operation. One that I would never wish the same experience on anyone else. read more

" Buyer beware. I tried to purchase a major appliance here. After 1 month of scheduled deliveries, 3 times the appliance arrived damaged, so I refused to accept delivery and one week they "no showed" on me. Ten days after I cancelled my purchase I am still waiting for my refund. They are blaming "corporate" I Contacted customer service and was told corporate did not need to authorize. My complaint has been escalated to the corporate office after another call today which was 64 minutes long, most of it I was on hold. I have spent hours on the phone and made 2 trips at the store when they told me the money would be in the safe. They have permanently lost my business. They are blaming me for contacting too many people to get my refund. They all lack customer service skills. I will never spend another dime at Lowes. UPDATE My complaint has been escalated three times by Lowe's customer service with no response from the person it was assigned to including the store manager and the district manager. It is now with the Regional Vice President. Until today my "history" had not been documented by the customer service department which is why I have to repeat my story over and over again. This is 15 days after I cancelled the purchase and 35 days from my initial purchase. The Regional Vice President never responded to the complaint. I finally received an email from the local store stating "they had exhausted all their resources and would refund my money" that actually made me laugh. I had to go to the store to pick it up. They had the wrong amount. After I provided the documentation again, for at least the 8th time I received the refund that was due to me. read more

I actually left this location and placed a special order with another Lowe's store. This location lost a pricey order from me. Never anyone to help load in the garden department either. This is mainly a review for the woman in customer service (Shelly? or maybe that was the woman next to her.) I ordered something for hold one afternoon and then picked it up the next morning. The first thing this woman said was "Shame on you!!" using her fingers in a shameful gesture because I didn't pick it up the previous day. WOW. WHO SAYS THAT TO A CUSTOMER?? I tried to laugh it off with you saying, "why would you say that, it's the holidays?" I am a reasonable woman who thinks a lot before I speak. You told me that you're not supposed to hold it without me paying over the phone... Well, how was I supposed to know that? You did not tell me that, or that I had to come that same day. I'm sorry if you had an off-day or if other managers gave you a hard time. If so, maybe shame on them? But please, please do not say that to a customer- it is rude, it is impolite, and I am not your granddaughter that you might have said that to over the holidays. I hope that this feedback improves your interactions with people. And to the various other lovely lovely people (Mike from plumbing was amazing, as every other person, thank you for your help! This Lowes has the most horrible customer service at the return department. The lady name Maria kinda rude and also the supervisor. I have a Lowes gift card for $50 I've tried to used it and the lady name Maria tells me there isn't money on the gift card and I insisted that there's $50 On the card then she keeps telling me there's no money on it. so I've end up using different card. After I paid my stuff went to the car and went to Lowes gift card website to check the balance on the card. It shows that it has $50 on it. So I went back inside at lowes and told Maria that there's $50 on it. Then she tells me again, there isn't then I showed her that indeed there's $50 on the gifts card. Finally she check again and found indeed there's $50 on the gift cards with the supervisor showed her. Then even apologized instead was rude. So I complained told the supervisor how come they don't train their employees to learn how to enter when someone using gifts cards. She responded they don't need to know. "Wow" so I responded to her what's the point of the company selling Lowes gifts card if their employees doesn't need to know how enter how the gifts card use in a form of payment and how I may able use Lowes gift card if I can't use it? So dumb. Then Lowes company should stop selling those gift cards and Supervisor and employees was very rude at the customer service. I wouldn't used this business area. The other Lowes much better. Bought a washer on clearance and when we got it home we noticed it had parts that fell off underneath. Wouldn't drain (had to manual drain) took it back and they wouldn't do a return. They said when we bought it we had 48 hours to return. It had been 22 hours. Danielle the manager was very rude and unprofessional. I will NEVER SHOP AT LOWES AGAIN. I only go to Lowe's in the rare event the Home Depot about 300 yards away does not have what I need. I've lived here for about 2.5 years and that's happened exactly twice. One time, HD was sold out of something I needed immediately to finish a plumbing project. The other time, I needed a knob that HD didn't sell. Sadly, Lowe's didn't sell the right one either but that didn't stop a guy from selling me the wrong one. I used to shop at Lowe's all the time because I liked them better than Menard's for everything but building materials. We didn't have HD in the town where we lived so it was the next best thing. I turn to YELP for most things when researching places online. I hope that this review helps someone. Stay clear of the Lowe's in the Chesterfield Valley. I am not sure what the deal is, but this location is full of grumpy associates. I've lived in St Louis since June, this location is the closest to my residence. I used to ONLY shop at Lowe's but that is changing... lucky for me there is a HOME DEPOT next door... First I ordered a riding lawn mower. Wasn't in stock. Ordered online and was supposed to take a couple weeks. That turned into a month. Mower arrived and no one called me. I called to find out when it was being delivered and was told it had been at the store a week... while my grass is 2 feet tall... They finally deliver it and the delivery guys can't/don't know how to start it. I can't get it to start. The delivery guys told me it's flooded and try again later. Left it at the edge of my driveway and said see ya. I tried a little later and no luck. Couple of times it tried to start but choked out. So here I have a lawn brick at the end of the driveway with one wheel in the street and I can't move it. Call them back and they send the same guys out to help push it up my driveway. Long and short of it, that night I started looking at it and they forgot to attach the fuel hose. OK, started right up... took it for a spin and started cutting... made 2 laps and it threw a belt and shut off. Back to the store it goes. Nightmare trying to accomplish this, no one at the store seemed to care...Finally they came and got it, had to wait for it to process in store and then I had to physically go to the store to get refunded. The customer service agents acted like I stole something or was trying to pull a fast one. They were annoyed that they had to help me. In the end it was returned. Strike 1. Fluke I assumed... went and bought a pull shade at the ballwin lowe's. Brought the old shade in and said cut to the same length. Did so and took home only to find out if was cut smaller. Attempted to return to Lowe's in Chesterfield (because it's closer) and they said they can't return cut shades. I explained the situation and their reply was "then go back to the Ballwin store"... That's the response I received. So I did... and again was told they cannot return the shade because it was cut. I told them the situation and they asked who cut it... I had no clue other than it was a younger kid. They said sorry nothing they can do... So I walk out and throw the shade right in the trash can. Strike 2. I went and bought a new Moen bath faucet and handle. Cost $150. Took it home un-did all the plumbing and started to re-install when I realized the new Moen guts on the spicket did't match the old Moen spicket. Took everything back to the store and explained my problem. (I purchased this the same day) Took a couple laps to find a plumbing guy who finally helped me out. Took a while to troubleshoot but we figured out the problem. Was happy. Took the parts to the customer desk to swap items etc. as instructed by the plumbing associate and spoke with them. Automatically I was given resistance. "you can't return this". I told them what I was instructed to say, who helped me, which manager ok'd the swap, etc. "nope, you can't swap these, they are different parts"... Again i wend through the situation... so I asked to speak to the manager who ok'd this from the beginning, that pissed the customer service lady off and she said " it won't do any good". By this time I had the plumbing associate up there arguing and finally the manager came up. Said it was ok and she exchanged everything. No sorry for the complete waste of time, nothing. Bye feliica. Strike 3 I've had other issues but these stood out. I'm done with this store. Home Depot, especially in the valley, has employees who smile and say thank you. They give customer service and the store is clean and organized. Shop there. read more

Oopsie-Doopsie! Had to return the drill that I bought to file the dogs' nails. I tried an emory board -- like a plain old emory board -- on all three dogs, and the 9-pounder (Thomas Raymond) squealed like a stuck pig. It was clear this drill thing wasn't going to work. Upon arrival at Lowe's, there's clear signage for customer service. I went directly there and was readily assisted by two lovely clerks. I told them of the dilemma, and they both laughed. large store, challenge to find an item and very few staff to provide direction. Finally found a HD worker, in a discussion with one of the few customers in the store. Waited politely while the other customer tried to get help searching for a particular sized item. The worker didn't know off hand, and was searching the racks. During a lull while the customer inspected the item, I asked the HD rep if he knew what aisle my item was located. A simple 'no' would have sufficed. Instead, the rep, evidently 'overworked' (no other customers in sight), informed me that he was assisting another customer (obviously)...duly chastised, I didn't wait for him to finish the lecture, told him "thank you", and left. I crossed the street to Home Depot, where I will do ALL my shopping in future. Home Depot, surprisingly, always has a full complement of staff, all of whom seem to want to be helpful. They also offer a 10% Military discount. Sad commentary on a store that has deteriorated in the past year. read more

I understand things happen, but when mistakes are made take ownership, follow through, and work to resolve the problem. I am astounded at the lack of professionalism from "management." The absolute worst shopping experience of my life. Went in to order a shower door, we knew the style and type of door that we wanted from our sister in law. First of all, even getting someone to come over and help you in the bath section is a hassle. When they did help, no one seemed to have even ordered a door before. It took 3 people to get me setup for a measurement. Once measured, I called up to place the order, I spoke to 2 different people who had a hard time even finding the door I needed and when they finally did, they weren't confident that it would 100% fit (keep in mind, they sent out the measurement people and had the dimensions so they had these). Finally we order a door. Our contractor goes to pick it up after it delivers a week and a half later, it's broken. No one told us it was broken before they showed up. That's when the real fun starts. I called in immediately (around 9am on a Friday) to get the order placed and see if they could expedite shipping. The person in the bathroom department said the person who orders shower doors doesn't show up until 1pm (ridiculous, but fine). They take down my number and name and say they'll call me. No call back. I call Lowes customer service, I guess they escalated it and someone finally called me back at 5:30pm Friday. They said they couldn't place the order until first thing Monday and they would follow up with the vendor and get back to me Monday. I even specifically said "please call me back" - the person promised they would call me back first thing Monday. Monday afternoon - no call back. I called the local store - the phone rang and rang. I called the customer service line, they referred me back to the local store. I spoke to someone at the store - they said they were really busy but would place the order and call me back in 10-15 minutes (around 3pm Monday). Again, I specifically said "please call me back" - the person promised they would call me back. No call back. I then have to call back at 5pm as no one would call me back. They finally placed the order at around 5pm on Monday....so they didn't do anything all day, even though I was promised it would happen first thing Monday. And of course the vendor is closed so they can't call to expedite the shipping. Once again - I request, please no one has called me back, can you call the vendor and call me back first thing tomorrow. "Of Course". It's now Tuesday afternoon. No one has called me back. I have no idea if the order is in, and I guarantee you they haven't called the vendor to expedite shipping. I just talked to someone who said they would call me back with a status - I can guarantee you they won't call back. What a brutal experience, spending hundreds of dollars on a shower door and you aren't treated with any respect or priority. Bottom line, if you want to be treated like you don't matter and you want to throw money away, this Lowe's is your place! read more

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I really don't like big box lumber. Their wood is usually warped, and sometimes it's not dried well, leading to expansion and contraction once you bring it home. That being said, Lowe's is close and convenient. And when you run out of cup hooks in the middle of a project, it's easy to run out and pick up a new box of them. read more

My husband and I purchased tile, grout, carpet for a bathroom and closet remodel from Lowes. We had a horrible experience. Our tile order was incorrect 6 times and items that were scheduled for delivery were not delivered resulting in delays in our project and multiple unexpected trips to the store. No store members seemed at all concerned about the errors made with our order and seemed annoyed to help us. Just this evening, we spent 4 hours purchasing a small section of carpet for a closet floor because no associate seemed to understand how to take this order. How can you only have 2 registers open on a busy saturday? The woman who seemed to be running the front didn't seem like she wanted to be bothered to do any work herself. The woman running register 7 didn't seem to know how to operate it . I left my cart and hundreds of dollars of items in the store because of the wait. Check your cameras for 3pm saturday the 29th.
