I visited this store today looking for a part and was genuinely surprised by how unfriendly some of…read morethe staff were. I was confused about where to find what I needed, so I politely asked a male employee for assistance. Instead of trying to understand my question, he waved me off and was dismissive. Thankfully, a female employee was much kinder and attempted to help. However, when she asked the same male employee for guidance, he again responded abruptly and simply said, "No, not here," without offering any explanation or assistance. As a customer, I left feeling unwelcome and disrespected. I understand employees can be busy, but basic courtesy and customer service go a long way. The interaction was uncomfortable enough that it left me wondering whether I was being treated differently than other customers. I hope management addresses this and reminds employees that professionalism and respect matter.

Awesome store! Pros…read more - decent selection of domestic and exotic hardwoods. - amazingly helpful staff, very knowledgeable on the subject of woodworking. - decentish selection of wood sealers, sandpaper and other misc. wood supplies. probably not as intense as Woodcraft, but still a decent shop worth hitting up in the St. Charles County area. - when they didn't have a specific type of wood I needed, they redirected me to another shop nearby. That's how you know they're genuinely interested in the customer getting what they need, when they recommend a competitor. Cons - if you go during the summertime, be prepared to walk around in the heat. - limited hours. I don't believe they are open on Sundays... After looking through the windows of my house for about 3 weeks I decided I wanted new windows. I called several companies. The last one (there were 4) to show up was Maris. The salesman walked the perimeter of my house like all the rest. The salesman spoke outside like all the rest. The salesman arrived on time like all the rest. What made him different is that instead of selling me some windows he sold me a gutter. He mentioned that my right gutter looked bad...asked if I got water in my basement at all and then told me that it might be wiser to get new gutters than windows. I was sad and didn't have the money to get a ton of windows and knew that I probably didn't have the money for 2 gutters. Not a problem. They worked with me. Sadly, the salesperson whose name escapes me was super nice and understanding. When the installers came to do the work they were very fast and tidy. They were super polite. Maris EVEN sent people to fix a spot that leaked on part of the other gutter. NICE company. Why the 4 out of 5 then? Well, I wasn't called as to when the installers were coming. It would have been nice to know that rather than them just show up. Would I recommend and use Maris again? ABSOLUTELY!!!
