I will start off by saying that some of the people that work here are absolutely amazing. I've never had any problems with the people in the paint department. Most of them are super knowledgeable and friendly and helpful. I usually come here because it is closer than the orange hardware store to my house. I get really annoyed though, that nothing ever rings up as the sale price that is listed in huge red and white and black letters on their shelves. I've had to come here twice in the last week, and both times the item I have purchased rings up at the non-sale price. The first time I was here, they made me run back to the area of the store to take a picture of the sign on the item and then we had to wait around for a manager to come over and change the price and she had a snarky attitude when she informed me that she'd be willing to change the price this time and honor the price that is clearly listed on their shelves. It happened again today and it's just not worth the effort to wait around for 10 minutes again to get them to honortheir own prices. I also know that most people's experiences are clouded by their own viewpoint and personal experiences, but I feel like I frequently have problems with being overlooked here and ignored, in favor of people who look more like they belong in a hardware store. It comes across as kind of sexist... But again, that's probably just my perception since I come from a male-dominated profession, where I frequently got ignored and overlooked and treated like crap. BUT when I am standing in front of an employee, waiting for him to finish with his current customer and he ignores me in favor of the next construction worker type, and then ignores me AGAIN after I asked for assistance... Pretty sure if the third guy hadn't said "ummmm, she was here first", I never would have been helped. And THEN, he didn't even look to tell me that the lawnmower battery I was looking for was out of stock and back ordered since it wasn't on the shelf. Which was pretty hard to believe, especially when I placed an online order for pickup, and they text me half an hour later to tell me that my order was ready to pickup... I've also had trouble getting them to cut boards (the saw is not working), and use the ladder to get high items. I've pretty much just given up and I use their big ladders without their help. Last complaint is that the landscaping in the parking lot needs tending, quite a few of their handicapped parking spaces have overgrown tree branches scraping up the top and sides of my car. Help - we contracted Lowes Home improvement in Chester, VA for fence installation Aug. 01, 2019. Robert Rollins came out and gave us estimate. Installation originally was to occur Aug. 30th. They called on Aug. 22 to push back fence installation to Sept. 11. Was a little disappointed, but ok, can deal with that. A week before Sept. 11, items for fence installation are dropped off onto our driveway. We agreed, no big deal. Installation of fence actually occured on Sept. 11. only after havingvto go to the local store because only partial material was delivered. The very next day the gates were suppossed to be installed, and trash picked up. It is now Sep. 18, and about a dozen phone calls to Lowes and NOTHING! Gates still not installed and trash still sitting in the driveway, preventing me from getting in and out of my garage. On top of that, no help in sight! Local Lowes gave me the claims department POC name, but that lady has yet to return any of my calls. Tara, i would LOVE to speak to you and left you several VMs on 317-675-4493. Not sure you actually exist. In all fairness, Lowes contracts out Fence installation. We, my husband and i, have contacted the company that actually installed our fencee. RVR can be reached at 804-998-0981but they are no help, and on top of that rude and dismissive. Each time we call RVR you get the same answer. "Will handle tomorrow ". Well guess what, tomorrow comes and goes and NOTHING is resolved. I find it extremely distasteful that you treat your customers, and in our case, Veterans that utterly dismissive. UPDATE: The custom door I ordered in October was to be ready January 1, 2022. I call January 3, 2022. The door is not in. No one knows what the hold up is, and someone will call me back. Two days later, no call, the door is still not in, and no one knows anything --no status, no update, no expectation. I canceled the order. It just seems as though this is a store. You go in. I purchased pvc pipe on Monday, had it cut IN THE STORE BY A LOWES employee but, had to return it on Tuesday because it wasn't what we needed. They returned all but the 2 cut pieces. I was told it was because it was now considered "used" and not eligible for return. I asked where it was in the return policy because it is not on the receipt or on the wall plaque return policy. I waited for my turn back in line while I observed a customer return a used cabinet vanity with no questions asked. When I got back to the register, who was the store manager, she had the policy pulled up on screen where she pointed out to me that it was used and non refundable. I still don't agree. But, I came home and went online to read the whole policy myself and decided to call customer service. I was told that they would "back the store manager", whatever they say. So I asked for her manager and got Keisha. Keisha read to me the non-eligible portion of the return policy, adding in "cut material is not eligible" for return.. I asked her to walk me through where it says that online because I was online and had the policy up. I guess she got sick of me and me challenging her and she told me that was the policy and they can't change the policy for me and that she was the highest level of management for escalations. I want to commend Lowe's Chester, VA for their excellent customer service. The associate in appliances met me with a smile. I had already chosen the electric range I wanted on the internet. She took me right to the one on display and answered all of my questions. She wrote up the order asking if I had any special requests on delivery. We were in and out of the store in about 20 minutes. The order was delivered by three very nice men. They removed the old range and brought the new one in. After they set it up one of the men took a towel and wiped off some rain drops that were on it. They were all so polite, and they wished me happy holidays before they left. I purchased the stove on the evening 11/22/22, and it was delivered in the morning 11/25/22 (Thanksgiving holiday in between). All around this was a very good shopping experience. A 3rd party delivery contractor was almost 1 hour late and never did call to give a timeframe window. The Lowe's manager said they were outside the house at 7:30 pm they started to offload a entire 2 pallets of shingles 2 houses down from me...... I ask the delivery guy if he was from Lowe's he said yes I ask him if he knew how to read address? He replied "F@&K off!" I quickly returned his unpleasant greeting, and called the lows manager. We made a purchase of a whirlpool refrigerator in store on July 19, 2020. It was in stock and was the only one that would fit the space we have in our kitchen. We were told that it would be delivered August 12 was the earliest delivery which was fine as we were getting a new floor in our kitchen! I called the store August 11 to check on the delivery for the 12th and was told it was not in stock! We told them that was impossible because it was in stock when we purchased it That it just could not be delivered until the 12th. So we talked to the appliance manager James and it was sold yesterday and the person hauled it away! So basically they sold the same refrigerator twice and their excuse was they needed to train their people better‍ So no refrigerator and when it was refunded it was $118.01 short! They really do not care about their customers!!!!! a NO compensation of any kind just "they need to train their people better " that's not the customers problem Will NEVER return to this store!!! We have dealt with this particular location for at least five years never had a problem it seems the manager of the store Dan Blarcould care less also! Complete incompetence! UPDATE: Store manager tried to help find another refrigerator however I knew it was going to be a waste of time I have found at a small store and he did pay the difference-which was helpful but it does not replace not having a refrigerator delivered when it was paid for to begin with and then resold Also corporate seem to care and sent a gift certificate so I will give them a three out of five because of that. Ok we went on a shopping spree and they were ALL helpful throughout our shopping experience. It was consistent no matter who we speak to the level of service and the willingness of each employee to assist us in whatever we were looking for. We started shopping for appliances and were able to find a good washer & dryer with the help of the old man (sorry, for got his name...maybe Lindsy??). We then went to look for a fireplace gate, then to lawn mower, and then a grill. In between, we managed to fill up the gigantic cart with all other miscellaneous items we didn't really think of till we saw them...with 10% newcomer discount (via USPS) and $2200 later, we left a happy camper! We were helped by at least 6 employees by this time. We even got help loading up the truck by another helpful associate. Today, we got the delivery that we scheduled and the two employees that showed up were very polite, courteous, and friendly I was very happy we shopped at Lowe's for all of our big purchases. They were kind enough to help me in hooking up the tank to the new grill and do a little favor taking my old shower head that I couldn't do myself. Yup, I'm a believer! Additional Note: I went back to make a return of a few things and even that was a very pleasant experience. I spent 3 weeks waiting for a stove and getting the Big COVID runaround. I understand there is a shortage of things including Customer Service help at the box stores as well as the Virtual Stores. However, after being hung up on twice while waiting for Customer Service at the store location and waiting on various phone trees at the 800, I visited the store in Prince George, VA and was able to get help from Davon. Basically we have had eight months of continuous project disappointment- with the store manager even telling us we have given then numerous second chances. Kitchen countertop had a hole in it for 6 months because no one would take responsibility of a mistake. It took them 2 months to get all of our appliances in and fixed, because the refrigerator was broken and then the repairman came and broke something else which was fixed by a second repairman. And now our vinyl fence has been without latches because they "forgot to get ordered." And although we paid extra for removal of the old fence, numerous wooden fence posts remain sticking out of the ground as a tripping hazard- along with the fact the fence contractors busted our irrigation lines and didn't tell us. Also 3 weeks later they still haven't come to pick up all of the concrete pieces and debris that they shoved between our fence and the neighbors. My husband and I went into this location at 6:45 am for a new bathroom sink and a few supplies. When we got there, Tommy was very helpful. He sifted through boxes that had been opened and returned to get us a brand new sink. He was super friendly and welcoming. When we got to the register, Deborah was very helpful as well. She was extremely patient through our checkout process as we had a gift card, cash, and a debit card to pay for our purchase. We left one of our bags and she quickly found us outside and brought it to our car. Everyone had masks and gloves and seemed to be following COVID requirements accordingly. I have been waiting at the flooring counter and I have counted four associates to walk past me. Not a single one has asked me if I need help, they even looked down or the opposite direction once our eyes met and I intended to reach out and ask for help. I would not recommend this place to anyone for the customer service needs. As I wrote this Britney, an associate here, walked up to me and offered her assistance even though this was not her department. She then called in the help and informed me that the push button for help that I pushed was broken. Lyndsey M., who works the department in flooring then came up after Britney called over the intercom. I recently was given a lot of help and support from Lyndsey in my efforts to remodel my floor in my rv. Her assistance was spot on in the remodeling process. I needed a new step-on ON-OFF switch for a floor lamp. Home Depot took a quick look and found none, so they directed me to Lowe's. The electrical pro at Lowe's had none either, but before he gave up he scoured the store looking for something that would work, phoned one of their lamp suppliers to see if he could get a switch from them, and then searched online for an internet site where I could order one. He spent at least 20 minutes trying to assist me, all for a $6 switch they didn't have. I left the store without a new switch, but with a good lead and an appreciation of a guy (and a store) that went far beyond the customer service call of duty. I have not used Lowe's on-line until today so I called the store in Chester and was given instructions. I went on line to order paint and selected a satin finish, but there was no place for me to add the color. When I called the store to provide the color, as I had been instructed, I was tool that my order was for eggshell. After much discussion, I finally told the gentleman helping that I would accept eggshell. I talked with Ashley, the customer service and supervisor, about the problem with the website and asked if there was a contact to report the problem with the website, and she indicate there was no contact. I find it interesting that the order could be corrected by someone in the store, and that a supervisor would not have contact numbers. The cost for 5 gallons of Sherwin Williams paint was more than 200.00. After some time, I thought my order was complete and ended the conversation. Approximately 10 minutes, I received a call from Ashley indicating that there were no 5 gallon bucket of paint. She indicated she could reimburse me and charge me additional money for 5 one gallon cans of paint. The difference in cost was about 20-30 dollars more. When asked why there was a need to charge me additional money,she indicated she would not be able to sell me the paint at the cost for 5 gallons. This is poor customer service. When the original on-line order was placed, there was a notice which indicated the paint was available, and I informed Ashley of this. Well, I called another Lowe's and was able to obtain 5 one gallons of satin paint for approximately 144.00. The site in Prince George, Va.verified they had the paint in stock and provided THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE. There seems to be a need for improved customer service training at the Weir Rd. store. I tried to use the corporate number to report the problem with the website. The number led to a message area, but the message could not be sent. read more

so my boy friend and I were just looking around the store for no real reason, when we came upon a floor model side by side fridge took measurements, would fit perfect in our small kitchen.. bought it 650.00 plus tax..delivered not working went a week without a fridge was told that they had a replacement with the exact measurements, guess what it's 4 inches wider not knowing this until it was delivered..but after a week with no fridge..needless to say we now have to purchase more cabinets, hire someone to move the plumbing for the ice maker and water on the door...I never will purchase anything from this store again!!!! read more
