I have been shopping at this store for the last 13 years and my experience today was extremely rude cashier by the name of Emery. We're glad we checked out our neighborhood Peasant's Hardware. The staff we've encountered seem to always make themselves available. When we've needed help finding something they've been right there and willing to go the extra mile. Recently we had our Stihl line trimmer break down on us. When I called to see if they had the part we needed they did not. However, instead of just ordering it for me right off the bat, he checked other stores and found it close by. With the option to either order it or drive a few miles I was happy to drive a little bit and get my equipment back up & running. I appreciate the extra legwork they did to take care of my needs. They're not a big box hardware & I don't expect them to be. They're more like the small town hardware I grew up with. read more

My husband was doing some work for my parents and sent me to run grab a few things he needed to finish the job. I ran inside found what I needed and was out in a matter of minutes. I headed home to get a call that he needed me to go back and get something else. They were about 10 minutes to closing, but didn't seem to understand the plumbing need. A store clerk tried to assist for a bit, but promptly at 8pm they turned out the lights and he was instructed to wrap it up with me and they essentially walked me out of the store at 8:02. I've never been in a situation where I'm dealing with a store clerk, and instead of taking a few more minutes to finish helping me, I'm kicked out of the store 2 minutes after the hour. Clearly I don't make it a habit to go to stores when they close in 10 minutes, but things happen. Definitely won't be back... read more

Very knowledgeable staff. This is the place to go if you need help with a specific fastener or advice on a complicated fix. Unlike big box stores, staff is readily available and happy to help. They are a tad bit pricey, but at least you will leave with what you will actually need to fix your issue! read more

Stopped by today for work to pick up a few things. Got what I needed and proceeded to the register. That's when a quick trip to a awesome hardware store went to hell. They have the chip card technology and upon inserting my c/c it kept saying "card chip error" after the employee made me keep inserting my c/c over and over and over, I felt like I was molesting the poor credit card machine and pleaded with the clerk to stop the insanity and for the love of everything holy please just type the numbers in manually. He replied that he would have to have a Mgr do that to which I replied whatever works bud! Teeth gritting trying not to lose my cool. The manager comes up (a very surly agitated looking woman I must say) and asks have we tried the chip reader yet. THE CHIP READER YOU ASK?? Yes, can't you tell! It's over there smoking a cigarette! Needless to say she tried a few more times even after my protest. After all of this she ask if I have any other form of payment. No it's a COMPANY CREDIT CARD. For Christ sakes just type the numbers in I pleaded. "We can't do that" she annoyingly retorts. So let me get this straight. You'd rather me go somewhere else and by $84 worth of merchandise because you can't do that? She nods her head and shrugs her shoulders. Wow I said. The manager, Cindy is one of the worst of individuals I've ever encountered. She operates under the name of Pleasant's, however her countenance is of of disdain for customers. I visited there last week to buy approximately $2000 or more in landscaping equipment, but while there found out my car battery died. A young man offered to give us a jump start, and she agreed to let him have five minutes to help, and then changed her mind without telling us. We waited over half an hour for they young man's help, and passed on the opportunity for others to help. What a shameful act of humanity, especially in these times, and if her word is worthless to a customer, how much more does she lie about? Once we were on our way, I purchase $4200 in tools from another hardware outlet where the customer is valued. I will never recommend this hardware store to anyone, and have also informed my friends of her deceit and prejudice against Black customers. read more
