This review is specifically aimed at the "professionals" who deliver and install appliances. We ordered a 48" wide, built in refrigerator from the local Lowe's. Nothing special mentioned at time of order. When the fridge arrived, delivery was scheduled. When the "pro's" arrived, they were mystified as to how they were going to remove the old 48" fridge. Not until they unboxed the new fridge did they realize pulling out the old one was NOT the only 48" fridge they'd be dealing with today. Somehow, the head "pro" walked into our home, looked at the fridge, didn't realize we were replacing the unit with another identically sized unit, returned to the truck, unloaded and pulled all of the protective materials off the new unit and THEN realized he was unable to BOTH remove or replace our fridge. They left the new fridge in the driveway and informed me that we would have to call someone else to remove and install the fridge. Myself, my wife and our teenage daughters push/slid the fridge into the garage and began the process of finding another installer. End of story. Lowe's was ultimately let down by every single employee who touched this situation. read more

They had a fairly decent selection of items at this location. I've been to better locations in North Carolina - Things were priced typical for this economy that is plagued by such horrible inflation. Employees were relatively helpful - Of course you had to show - because they like to pretend not to hear you; - But - it still wasn't as bad at it was in NY and/or Florida. HOLIDAY BUYERS BEWARE!! Be aware that if you purchase a Christmas/Holiday item for someone for Christmas and they open it and it is broken, Lowes has a policy of not allowing any refunds. They direct you to the manufacturer (probably located in China). I will never ever buy anything at Lowes around the holidays and Home Depot will be getting much of my business from here on out the rest of the year. They of course don't tell you that all sales are final when you buy it prior to Christmas which quite frankly seams unethical in my opinion. read more

I finally have all the fence bracket widgets I need for my yard after clearing out three different Lowe's shops in the area. This one was my last stop. Free wifi in the store works great and doubly so when you're using the Lowe's app to work out where in the store your item is located right down to the aisle and bin, including the quantity in stock and price. Awesome. Checking out was easy today as there was no queue at the two registers open. read more

I guess this will be my new favorite Lowe's. They have it all when you're on a role with some kind of home improvement project and can't wait another day to finish something up. While most brick and mortar retailers seem to be closing their doors, a home improvement place is still sort of a necessity. They're getting the goods to your neighborhood that, sorry, you just can't buy on Amazon! You name it, they've got it. Tools, hardware, plumbing, paint, lumber, insulation, siding, roofing, doors, windows, gardening stuff, power tools, lighting, appliances. Even magazines, knick-knacks and snacks at the check out line. You can rent tools, but not trucks/vans (only at Home Depot). Their hours are even incredibly long. They open early for the types that like to get hammering as soon as the city noise ordinance ends and stay open late in case you need the perfect vent register to put the finishing touch on a floor install and just can't wait. Free delivery and install on appliances over a certain price. (Although I found the delivery guys to be disrespectful of me and my belongings.) You're going to pay higher prices for some things, but when it comes to real specialty items this is about the only place you can find them so it's "just the price you pay" for availability. When Home Depot (conveniently across the street) doesn't have it, come to Lowe's. And vice-versa. read more

This is a nice store, and they sell decent stuff. Unfortunately, the staff aren't that helpful or knowledgeable when it comes to product, where something in the store is located, or about home improvement in general --a stark contrast to Home Depot. They're slow, and feels like they're very undertrained. Their inventory is very weak compared to other Lowe's I've visited in the past. Recently downsized my mom into a smaller home and I feel like I live here since this is the closest hardware store near her new home. Technically there is a HD across the street, but that parking lot is so jacked I avoid that shopping center like the plague. Back to Lowe's... this location has it's "back" facing Ballantyne Commons so you do see the signage, but you do have to drive into the parking lot and weave a bit depending on what entrance you come from. The location shares the spot with a Harris Teeter and a couple of other stores (not like across the street) with their one-way parking and roundabouts. Same sort of Lowes struggles where people just think they are the King and park outside of the front door when there are clearly marked parking spaces not too far away. It wouldn't kill someone to walk a few extra steps now and then.... they even have a loading zone for when you are buying building materials. I haven't really interacted with anyone here, but the checkout machine I used was super nice... very level-headed and consistent. No rolling of the eyes when I can't figure out I need to insert my chip card and not swipe. ;) read more

Ordered a new washer for my elderly parents and paid an extra $50 for removal of their old washer. Lowe's sends a non English speaking delivery person. After much aggravation and translating he Proceeds to indicate that he can't remove the water lines from the old machine because they might break. I get his supervisor on the phone and he is an unprofessional jerk. Tells me to just send it back. NEVER buy or use Lowe's for delivery of any appliance unless you want to get jerked around after waiting all day for their 4 hour window which they came at the very end. Ridiculous that a company like Lowe's can't hire competent English speaking people to deliver, set up and remove an old washer. Unacceptable and will be filing complaints with corporate as well. Don't waste your valuable time with Lowe's. Incompetence at its highest level. read more

What a terrible experience I had today at the Lowe's store 1112. I needed to buy a closet sliding glass door that I had bought months ago at Lowe's and one of the doors got broken, so I needed to replace it. My contractor friend who's doing the works, Jay on my home came with me to Lowe's and we went to the doors and floor section and spoke with a woman Who said we need to speak with Tyler and she called a code 1 and we waited there for several minutes until someone finally showed up. A new associate came to assist us and we asked him where we can find the doors and if we had to order them and he acted like he had no idea and he said he's never heard of that before and he said he's owned five homes and he's never seen or heard of that before and he said you need to speak with Jim, he's here during these days of the week and I said, I'm not coming back to see somebody to ask about these doors. I told him you need to call somebody if you're new and you don't know what we're talking about. He was disrespectful, being a smart Alec, making little comments to me and completely rude to me and the person who ended up finding the doors that are in stock was my contractor friend Jay after we had spoken to five people employed there. As my contractor friend Jay and I were standing there asking about the size of the doors I let them know we needed to have the widest ones they have, which is not what I got, but I have to now return them back to the store. Tyler and another gentleman were standing there with the new associate and Tyler did not apologize to me, I do not feel valued as a customer and I felt very disrespected by all of them. Especially the new associate who consistently made smart Alec responses towards me and Tyler finally asked him to go away when I asked him was he trying to be a smart Alec. I have a manager who is not being apologetic and not trying to fix the situation and I have an associate who acted like we were asking for something he's never heard of, when in fact you had it there at the store, but I was given the wrong size. The new associate wanted me to come back during someone else's working hours instead of saying hey, I'm new let me get some help, but instead wanted me to inconvenience myself to come back to the store. I left there feeling upset, I left there feeling not valued, I left there saying I don't ever want to come back and I will let everyone know what a horrible experience I had. I purchased a washing machine a couple of months ago and the service was great! Delivery was great! My time moving and installing washers/driers is finally behind me.... My dryer went out a few days ago and I thought I would go back to purchase the dryer since we had good service with our washer. Well, the older man that helped us was very sexist and would only speak/listen to my boyfriend who came with me. Like the washer, I planned to put this on my Lowes card for 5% back... "whatever" right? He said I could change some componentes in the future after its ordered. "Great, I'll talk to someone that can take me seriously tomorrow not a big deal. He's from a different generation" only he messed up the entire order due to this. Told me I would receive a call in the morning about delivery and gave me a number for Jake incase they didn't call. Of course they didn't call & I had to call Jake. Jake said he didn't know what I was talking about & that the only way I could fix their mistake was by going back with my receipt and talking to Jamal or Paul. "Okay, great thank you for the lack of effort". I go back have to explain the issue. They tell me they need to refund the card and recharge it. "We could have done this yesterday when the mistake happened" they then decide to charge me over $700 when I paid a little over $600 the day previously. Of course I asked the question... WHY... WHAT IS THIS... Jamal did lower the price due to their mistake, but I was still charged more then what I paid the day previously.... Bill helped us along with Jamal they did great. EXCEPT FOR WHEN I TOLD BILL THREE TIMES I NEEDED A THREE PRONG AND HE LOOKED AT MY BOYFRIEND AND ASKED HIM IF I NEEDED A THREE PRONG TO CONFIRM. Now it wouldn't have been so bad if the first associate hadn't done that previously..... all I could do is laugh because my boyfriend has no idea about appliances let alone mine that I am buying. My poor boyfriend looked at me, looked at him and had to repeat what I just told this man. We have never experienced such sexism and my boyfriend was shocked to see it first hand. Obviously, I wish I went somewhere else. Hopefully you can save yourself some time and discrimination by not shopping here. As a woman in commercial construction this is hilarious. All I wanted was a dryer delivered and installed. Hopefully we get the same install guys we had last time. My patience is thin. read more

Man Bun guy from lumber area didn't seem to happy with my presence when I asked him pricing for joint compound and walks away and sees me walking around still looking for the price and didn't bother to help. Front desk lady was staring at me and didn't bother to ask for help when I walked out empty handed. i had to get my phone and look it up myself as I'm in the store and Charging $15 a box for pro form compound is pretty insane if you ask me...usually is $9 to $10 a box. I gave them 1 star for being consistent and because there is not a 0-star option. Day. 1 Delivered dryer not set up and without accessories as ordered, told me they would fix next day, half day off work down the drain Day 2. Told me they couldn't deliver as ordered but would deliver as is next day, after I had rearranged my work calendar Day 3. Re-visited store spoke with ASM to correct issue, left there with a plan and feeling good * 2 hours later they deliver without accessories again but has spares on truck so hooked it up and it doesn't work, guy leaves broke dryer saying he will return later that day or the next, another half day off work down the drain * Email guy I had talked to at store 2 hours prior, (no response until 5 days later after I send him a nasty follow-up email) * 5pm same day still no word from Lowes. Call customer service 2x, on hold both times for an hour each. * Finally get thru, cancel order and lady won't even give me a specific time when they will come pick up their broke dryer just another 4-hour window on a Sunday despite my recent experiences and inconveniences, she also says she can't give me a confirmation number acknowledging I have requested a pick up. Day 4. No refund Day 5. They picked up broke dryer, no refund Day 6. No refund, receive call from ASM after my follow up email and I get a "sorry for the miscommunication but I will get an email confirmation regarding refund Day 7. No refund or email Out of respect for brevity I have left out all of the pain suffered between day 1 and 7 but I assure you it was brutal and rife with failure at every link in the chain, not to mention and very time consuming. If I am not 100% factual or exaggerating in the least, I will run around Home Depot in a Lowes speedo until security tackles me. read more

I literally come here every other week due to having renovations done in our house. The location seems bigger than most Lowe's I've been too as well as more of a selection. We have gotten several things here without any issues and for the most part it is pretty organized. Not sure if it's an online error or store error but a lot of times when we look for something, it's not in the aisle that it says it would be. read more

Here is an example of why so much business has gone on line. I went to buy portable ice maker. Of course they didn't have it and did not suggest when they could get one. So much easier to order one online and get it delivered right to our doorstep. When I told the guy in appliances that thought, he agreed with me. That seemed just a bit odd to me. I have the choice of shopping at Lowe's at the Providence Commons Shopping Center or just across the street, shopping at Home Depot in the Promenade on Providence shopping center... both are equal distance from my home. In general, between the two, I prefer Lowe's. For one, I usually find good quality products at good prices. Also, I find the Lowe's layout & store design to be slightly more aesthetically pleasing than Home Depot. I usually have a easier time finding what I need here regardless of whether I am looking for plants, pool supplies, outdoor furniture, gardening equipment, paint, caulking, appliances, etc. I have also rented a truck here and found that to be an easy and convenient solution for transporting oversize items home. A couple of years ago, I was shopping for a new dishwasher and found a nice Bosch at this store. The delivery & installation was quick and professionally done. I would certainly shop here again for appliances. read more

Merry Christmas everyone! As you are out looking for Christmas gifts you may want to pay attention and feel free to contact me with any questions regarding our Lowes extended Warranty and Samsung French door model RF22M9581SG experience. Let's star by saying its Dec 23rd and our refrigerator has had a cooling issue since ......November 14th! Yep 10 days before Thanksgiving. Since that time there have been service calls set up with 4 different service companies, 1 cancelled the day of and the other three have worked on the fridge. one company Tekniton had 3 different service techs out, and some of them even replaced the same parts that the one before replaced. The last repair company was the best of the bunch by far (Harrison Appliance Repair) and after being on the phone with Samsung and in the fridge for over an hour, it was deemed by Samsung that we have a sealed system issue. The conclusion is this will be a lengthy repair "If possible" and would not be completed imminently. Now, for those still reading we are now looking at two major holidays without a working fridge and a likelihood of close to 2 months in calendar time. Now Lowes will not just 'replace" this unit because there would have to be 3 repairs done each a month apart from each other and despite the fact our fridge has not worked for 42 days......it's still considered ONE repair. So, as we now spend the days prior and post-Christmas finding a lawyer that will assure that their costs will be picked up by Lowe's as well, it would have been just real nice for someone to step up and say enough is enough. So please think clearly of what you purchase and who you purchase from and have a Merry Christmas. And take advantage of the ability to get in that working icebox of yours for those leftovers ;-) read more

Twice now in the last month I have been to this location at Providence and Ballentyne Commons in the middle of the day, during the week and cannot find anyone to help me. Both times I went to the service desk to have someone to meet me. Nothing! It's not worth the 5% savings when you can't get any service. It's too easy to go across the street to Home Depot!. Wake up! This is a very disappointing location. On rare occasion I find someone who is friendly, available and knowledgeable. But it's rare. I occasionally find one of the three. Usually, if I engage someone they are responsive but unavailable. Some of the time they are available but it's more likely than not that they are busy walking around doing something other than tending to a customer. On very, very rare occasion I get someone who is knowledgeable. Most often I get the same kind of information that I'd find on Facebook or by asking random people at Starbucks. Either a guess or an "I don't know". If I press for someone who does "know" the chances that they are in the store seem to be about as likely as snow in Charlotte, in August. The rest of the time I get someone who pretends to know and often gives incorrect information but does so in a confident manner. This has led to disaster on occasion but at least a waste of time and money. Do your research before you go to Lowe's and don't count on them having the inventory that their website shows they have. read more

Waited 48 minutes in flooring for someone to help me, ask three different times for someone to help me, no one came! I stood in flooring called the store twice to speak to the Manager, "NO" one would even answer the phone!! Took 18 minutes for the store assistant manager to show up. Which was sitting in the back room while he knew two of his flooring employees didn't show up for work on a Friday. Four different men were waiting with me became aggravated and left, they were getting ready to start projects tomorrow and Lowe's assistant manager was sitting in the back not helping anybody. If I knew I was short-handed and it's Friday, you bet I'd be on the floor and that's exactly what I told him.... He said I'm sorry, but didn't even ask how I could help you!!! read more

My dryer stopped working at 6:00pm on a Sunday night. I stopped by Lowe's at 6:30 and looked at the dryer's on the floor. At 6:39 I discussed with Stewart what I was looking for in price. He proceeded to check what was in stock and discovered they didn't have the one I wanted for the price I needed. He suggested I pick a different one that is in stock and he'd give it to me for the same price that I needed. I really was taken back by this. I was expecting to have to wait another week to get what I needed. He scheduled the delivery and then discounted the dryer even more. I could not have been more impressed with the service I received. It was friendly, efficient and accommodating to my needs. I was in the parking lot on my way home by 7pm!!! It could not have been easier! Thanks Stewart :) read more

I'm doing a major rehab on a house, buying lots of materials from Lowes. I'm here to tell you not all Lowes stores are created equal. This one is particularly awful, and has wasted hours of my time through mislabeling of merchandise, not pricing consistently with other Lowes stores, and just pathetic customer service generally. 2 incidents: 1) Bought tile from a different Lowes, but they didn't have enough inventory to cover the job, so the nice associate there looked up on computer and saw the Lowes at Ballantyne had some in stock. I drive over to purchase more, and find it is priced at double what the other Lowes had. Ballantyne Lowes wouldn't honor that price. Took it all the way to the store manager. No go. So I bought the tile at the doubled price at Ballantyne Lowes, took it over to a different Lowes store, returned it, and re-bought it at the correct price. So much wasted time arguing with this store and running to different store to get the correct price. Strike 1. 2) Saw a great sliding glass door, price was on the door. Wrote down the item number, took it to front counter and bought it, said I'd pick it up the next day. Next day I take the time to procure a trailer, attach it to my truck and go over to pick up. They bring out the wrong door. Turns out the price and item number attached to the door on display is for a different door. The actual price for the door I thought I bought is (you guessed it) double what was indicated on the merchandise. I thought they would honor the price they had on the merchandise, as this is common practice when a store mislabels merchandise. Again, no go. Strike 2. And I'm a baseball guy, so typically 3 strikes and you're out. This store is out for me after 2 strikes. I will never, ever purchase anything from this Lowes store again. Go to any other Lowes in Charlotte and you'll get the usual great service you're accustomed to receiving from this generally high quality company. read more

Lowe's has the poorest service around!!! We ordered an exterior rug on April 9th. The pick up date was April 12th. After not hearing from the store on our order we called and was told it would be there April 18th. On that day we went to the store and asked about the rug. It had still not come in and an employee at the pick up counter said they'd call us later that day. Later that day we called and spoke to a manager who also promised to call us back. After not hearing a word we went in and cancelled the order today! I would suggest that no one shop at this store as the service is awful!! No one does what they say they will do. From this point forward we will be shopping at HOME DEPOT!!! read more

After shopping this Lowe's nearly 20 years almost weekly and almost exclusively during a $20K home renovation, I now shop across the street at Home Depot. I'm not sure what happened here, but after a major management overall, service is horrible, uncaring and unfriendly. Prices maybe a little lower (if it all) than Home Depot, but at least I feel like I'm appreciated as a customer. This is a real shame because I really liked this store and its employees, and generally prefer Lowe's to Home Depot. They really had to try hard to lose me as a customer, as I'm a faithful Lowe's fan, but not of this one. read more

Can't get anyone to answer the phone. Literally called and was transferred 11 times. Each person who answered the phone said 'not my department' or 'she should have told you' or just plain didn't answer and I was back in the loop. I use Lowes because it is NC based and just put my entire home reno project at Home Depot - they answered the phone the first time and were very courteous. That's all I needed. read more
