fridge sold to me by manager, when I called to tell them it didn't work they refused return/exchange. Bought on 10/3/25, still doesn't work

There's a joke in the Family Guy episode where employees in stores like Lowe's and home improvement hide from customers so that they don't have to help them, this has never been more abundantly true than this location. Employees would avoid eye contact. I would have to practically chase them down to ask a simple question like "where do I pick up my order" and they would just shrug "customer service" and go back to ignoring me, like i knew where that was. when I had to ask again, They just pointed and said "that way" and went back to what they were doing. I had to ask at least two or three people on the way to customer service how to get there. When I got there, nobody really wanted to help me and it took over 15 minutes for them to bring a floor model to the front. I was told I could take the floor model because they were out of stock of the refrigerator I wanted in the back, and the only stipulation was that I would have to have it delivered myself. so we deliver this refrigerator up a flight of stairs to my house and the next morning I plugged it in, did everything the manual said, and turns out it doesn't work. When I called I was told, "we sell those as is, you cannot return it, call whirlpool, and have them deal with it with your warranty." I was not told this was a not returnable, I thought I had 30 days. When the manager discovered they didn't have any models in the back, he said "here's what I'll do for you. I'll let you take this one for 220 bucks. You'll just have to deliver it yourself. I can't offer delivery." He made it sound like he was doing me a favor, and I bought it hook line and sinker. you would think a reputable store like Lowe's wouldn't steal money from customers by selling defective - no, BROKEN products. The air in my house is cooler than inside the refrigerator. When I told them that the only stipulation was that I had to deliver it myself and that was the only thing that I was told. I was not told that Lowe's, again, a supposedly "reputable company" would not accept a return of defective equipment sold to customers, BY A MANAGER, and basically steal my money. the person I spoke to on the phone, who actually did sound like the manager that sold me the fridge said "well I didn't sell it to you", implying it's the mistake of whoever sold it to me. If you would like me to point this manager out, I'd be happy to. I have never been so disgusted by a company like this, and I feel completely robbed by Lowe's corporation, and the employees there that have no integrity whatsoever.

I can't spend a day with my mom without stopping by every Lowe's we pass. We beelined to the garden center, like always. They have a great selection of flowers and plants. The weather was nice so everyone else had the same idea to go to Lowe's. The lines were long and slow--there are only two registers in the garden center. The cashier seemed a little annoyed with the other associate and wasn't too friendly to us or her. The parking lot can be a bit confusing if you're not familiar with it.

Rat nests

Go to a different Lowe's. This one is infested with rats and all complaints have gone unheard. These rat nests have been there for 3 weeks and the smell of rat pee is overwhelming. Plants have rat chew marks all over them. Also this Lowe's doesn't have any viable discount plants while all the other Lowe's have racks of discounted plants that you have a chance to save.

Since buying a home in 2013, we've become regulars at Lowe's. I'll say it's our first stop for home needs or when things break. Most of our appliances (fridge, washer/dryer) came from Lowe's even after shopping around. We've also purchased flowers and plants here. We've always gotten good service at Lowe's, and they offer delivery and haul-away of old appliances. Since we don't own a truck, this is huge for us and a big reason why we buy at Lowe's. They also have free wi-fi inside the store, and if you need a truck to bring something home that doesn't have free delivery (like a grill), you can rent the truck onsite for a reasonable price.

West Ashley Lowe's: Like everyone else, I came during COVID-19 to work on house projects, primarily renovating bathrooms with inexpensive but functional, updated materials (inserts and vanities). Prices were good, but many items were out of stock. It took forever to find associated for help, and we were told that out-of-stock items would take several weeks to arrive to the store. We went with some in-stock items, but inventory was low so we did not get our first pick. It took literal hours for the employees to get things down with fork lifts and load in our trailer. Lowe's remains dog-friendly inside. I noticed that this location in West Ashley has much more product than James Island, and this is also a cleaner location.

Shows up with damaged appliances! Reschedule and make you wait ALL day from 11:30-6:30 and STILL no delivery!!! Terrible customer service!!!

My husband and I are going to be going room to room and update everything. Today I was in search of a powder room sink. I walked in and looked around for about 10 minutes without one person acknowledging I was even there. I believe there was 3 customers in the showroom total. Actually, one of those customers asked a worker if there was something she could do to get some assistance for me. You don't have to have appointments, but they don't allow for those that weren't aware that it is best to have an appointment. I was told " I don't have time to return calls or answer my emails. Let me see if my coworker has an appointment right now." Spoke to the manager. Wasn't too concerned since I had already told him he lost my business. He said "I guess there isn't anything I can do if your mind is made up." He could have cared less. Just stood there looking at me with a blank stare.
