My experiences at Lowes have always been good ones, but since they have repositioned shelves for easier accessibility, particularly for household items, paper goods, cleaners , brooms and mops, I've had to spend less time in the store trying to find stuff. All aisles seem wider and easier to walk through without crowding others and crouching to find things. Recently bought a broom and some outside garbage bags and also had a key cut in less time than I expected. Most noteworthy were the checkout points. I could scan and checkout my small household stuff without waiting in lines where lumber and tools are also checked out. The folks at Lowes have always been helpful to me and courteous, stay wired to their phones to get you another sales person who may be more familiar with that special item you are looking for. I really appreciate that. Lowes is also great place to replenish my indoor plants during this fall season! read more

Nice store although there is no one around to help. Store should have a greeter so I can get in and out with out wandering the aisles. Asked three different people and got three different answers as to were to find a washer hose. Small purchases can be done by self check out and staff was there if needed. Terrible customer service, I will never spend another penny in store. Attempted to purchase a dishwasher but after 4 weeks of one screw up after another I asked to be refunded the $1000 I had spent and took my business to Judd and Black. If Lowe's had tried to provide the world's worse customer service they couldn't have done a better job. No one knows what they're doing and totally unapologetic for all the mess ups. I come here to get my car keys made. Unfortunately I lose my car keys often. I've been here probably four times to get my car keys made and two times they don't have my key, and this last time I asked them I had bought the key that is needed and if I brought that in if they could make a key and I was told no. So basically I was told they don't have my key and even if I bring a key in for them to cut they won't cut it because it's not from their store. This was after the ladies it returns called someone to come to the kikiosk and I waited for about 10 minutes before finally flagging an associate down. read more

Really impressed with quality of service and overall cleanliness of the store. They seemed to have a good number of staff ready and eager to answer questions. The young man who helped us in the tile section was very helpful and quick to check on extra stock for us. My wife and I ordered a high point residential wood playset for our kids that's worth $1000 on 9-7-20. Today is 9-30-20. Every time we keep checking our order status online it keeps telling us that its "preparing your order". We tried calling our local Lowes store to get a hold of customer service 7 times without anyone ever picking up the phone. Today, I finally lost my patience and drove there to talk to customer service in person. What the store associate told me was "yeah, anything made out of wood can take up to 3 months to fulfill your order". 3 MONTHS?! REALLY?! DOES THAT SOUND LIKE A REASONABLE TIME FRAME?! My husband and I shop at Lowe's very frequently. Today, we brought our foxhound, Jamie with us. This wasn't the first time Jamie acommopanied us. Today to save time i went to one aisle and my husband went to another with Jamie. When they came to find me, Jamie barked with excitement; tail wagging. She only barked for a few seconds as they found me quickly.This is typical Jamie. When she's happy, she barks. Shortly, after my husband and Jamie found me, a woman approached us with a male employee. She stated that she was the Manager and that "people" are very uncomfortable with our dog barking in the Store. She told us we needed to make sure the dog did not bark again....(period). Jamie was not near other people when she was barking, and she didn't continue barking. She was never aggressive or off-leash at any time. The manner in which we were spoken to, as well as the silent and looming male employee looking ready to expel us was very unwelcoming, It was also a bit intimidating and toally unnecessary. Given we have a Home Depot near by, I think we'll take our business there. read more

I'll start here! The blonde hair lady w glasses I think her name is Trudy. She is the rudest lady Ive ever met. I asked my wife to join me after work at 7:30 PM to return and pick up a couple things. It took a little longer than I thought to return some things, So we just decided to get the toilet because it was getting close to closing and didn't want to have to deal with Trudy. So we headed down to the contractor end we could see register#1 was lit up and I noticed Trudy being sneaky and following us. My wife has heard horror stories about her from me. So my wife got her camera out and started filming her following us. When we got to the register no one was there 5 minutes until closing and all of a sudden there was Trudy flipping out on us because it was almost closing and now we had to go through the maze because of the virus with her screaming at us all the way. Wish there was a way to post the video. I'm a business owner myself and have spoken with the main manager on several occasions and he acts like it's no big deal. If she worked for me I would have sent her down the road the day I hired her. She has to cost Lowe's lots of money because of her attitude. There's a nice way to tell people whatever you want. My wife could not believe it. She had heard my stories but she had to see it with her own eyes. Her behaviour is unacceptable to any customer. Not to mention that when a customer has a cart full and explains to this lady that we TRIED to check out at the register that was lit up, she said we always close that register at this time. How are we supposed to know that, especially when the light was lit up on register one, but not register 2? She could have said everything in a polite manner instead of instantly getting angry and treating us as if we were not a paying customer and we're simply angry at her. She is not a good representative for any company. It seems that it doesn't matter who you talk to, she is still there and is the face of Lowe's. With that being said, after attempting to talk to someone who could deal w your employee more than once and still being treated w no respect, we have decided that the customer is not important to your business and we will shop elsewhere from now on. read more

My husband and I shop at Lowe's and until now we would have given it five stars. Not today. About three years ago we purchased Bali blinds for our house. One blind was for the entry, open to the second story. We opted for the remote control at a hefty price. It has stopped working three times. The service company comes from the Seattle area. The last time it was reprogrammed we were told if it happened again it would need to be replaced. Low and behold it stopped working in August. My husband has gone to Lowe's more times than we can remember with promises to fix it. Finally three weeks ago Bali agreed to send a new one and have it installed. The blind arrived and Lowe's sent a message to the installation company. Two weeks later no contact for installation has been made. Today after another trip to Lowe's we are told that we will have to pay for the installation ourselves. I think our next step is to make a complaint to the BBB. I went to Lowe's for them to install my fence this summer. It has now been over four months, and I am still waiting for them to start my project! Two months ago, they sent me a bill for the job, which they haven't even begun. They have no answers for me as to why someone dropped the ball and didn't order the fencing materials even though I was told the did. Communication has been very poor, I have had to follow up on the delays many times, and now Lowe's isn't answering my emails. To make matters worse, they won't event put you on the back logged installers calendar until the fencing order comes in! I will never again use Lowes for an install, very disappointing. read more

I went to this Lowe's once to get some elastic cord for a project. In that section it requires you to get an employee to cut the cordage for you. I looked for an employee and told them what I needed and they told me that they DON'T KNOW HOW TO CUT ROPE! Seriously? I looked far and wide and found a second employee who told me the same thing because they hadn't yet been trained, but luckily this person could hear how stupid the words coming out of their mouth were and went and took care of anyway without further issue. Something that should have been quick still killed 40+ min. There's no need for training on this, they could honestly just write all four steps on the wall and be done with it. Shopped many times at both the Lowe's Sunset and Home Depot Meridian. Generally, the staff at Lowe's is more helpful, and returns are easier. Customer Service at Home Depot is staffed by a lady who should change jobs to be an attendance monitor at an elementary school. Paint department at Lowe's is much better staffed, and more helpful. I had a non-brand sample request, they found and filled it quickly. Appliances at both are dismal. Go to Dewaard and Bode for those. read more

Normally, I don't like the large Home Improvement places. They typically SUCK for Customer Service and don't know their products. HOWEVER, on a visit to there with a friend a few weeks ago, I witnessed a HUGE shocker. On a nearly $500 item....well past the return-policy time-frame, the manager looked at the machine, saw it truly had not been used but once, and failed the second time around. My partner & I both had negative experiences a few days ago. Me - in the paint dept. I asked paint clerk to help me find paint to match color chip, he said, in a nasty tone, "I can't select your color for you" I said I am not asking, I want you to use your color spectrum machine to find closest to this chip. He says, I can't do that. I said fine, I will go somewhere that can. My partner found a clerk and showed her a light bulb we wanted to replace. He asked her if she knew anything about lights, she said "no." End of conversation. We both walked out, vowing not to return. These experiences are in such a major contrast to their t.v. ad campaign about how knowledgable and friendly they are. I had a 6 foot privacy fence built around my backyard by a contractor (outside services of Bellingham) through Lowe's. The whole process was a disaster from the beginning. Lowe's came out to my property to take measurements for the fence in July 2017. They said outside services would contact me shortly. They finally did in August and said they would start construction later that month or early September at the latest. They finally began construction in October and it went quickly. Outside services obviously cares more about quantity than quality. When the fence was done I noticed many problems. There were complete sections of fence that were crooked. They used small finishing nails and boards starting falling off right away. They built one section of my drive through gate using warped lumber and refused to fix it. Many of the posts were loose. Some of the boards they used were of different lengths. They eventually came back and fixed all the issues except the gate but it took them until January 2018 to do so and I had to go to Lowe's in person three times to speak to managers to get the fence fixed correctly. Matt Pagnossin, the owner of outside services, is impossible to get ahold of and doesn't care if his customers are satisfied with the job his crew does. On top of all that, Lowe's charged me interest when I was told my purchase would be interest free for a year because I used my Lowe's credit card. They eventually fixed that too after a trip to the store and several phone calls with a manager. They also took forever to come pick up the unused boards and bags of concrete that sat in my driveway from late September 2017 until January 2018! I will never shop at Lowe's again or recommend Lowe's or outside services to anyone including my worst enemy! read more

I have now had three Horribly frustrating experiences with the delivery department. Essentially if you are ordering anything that you are having delivered to your house, don't! If you can carry it yourself or borrow a truck , do it that way but do not depend on the delivery department because they are completely screwed up and rude to boot. Three strikes and you're out. The wife and I purchased a dishwasher, it has to be ordered in not a problem, it arrives and is delivered as requested and on time. I remove the old and install the new no problems so far. I then do a test run, approx 7 min of running up comes an error message and it quits. Call Eric at LOWE'S appliance dept, tell him my problem, he says he will reorder about a week he says, 3 days later I get a call your dishwasher is here happy days Eric and Lowes come through. Here's another "Read the Fine Print" story for you: Let me start by saying we own it. We freely signed on the dotted line after skimming the document and assuming we had the jist of it. All these years and we haven't learned who Assumption is the mother of. What did we sign up for? A LOWE'S/Synchrony Bank credit card. They pitched their credit card with two years 0% interest and we ate it up. "Two years interest free? We can't lose!" Our understanding was if there was a balance at the 2 year mark, then we start paying the stupidly high interest rate. Fair enough, we'll just ensure its all paid off before that point. Fast-forward two years and that monthly auto-payment on the Lowe's/Synchrony Bank card that we kinda forgot about and got lost in the shuffle suddenly QUADRUPLES - doesn't double, doesn't triple - QUADRUPLES. Come to find out at the end of the 2 year interest free time- frame if there's a balance - any balance -, they charge the stupidly high interest-rate RETROACTIVELY. This retroactive interest has doubled our balance - and now there's a compound interest accruing on top of that! Essentially we have to pay an additional $1600 that they did nothing to earn except sucker us into. So we called Lowe's customer 'care' service to see if they could work with customers that have shopped exclusively at their stores for years now. Again, we acknowledge that we freely and without coercion signed up for a Lowe's/Synchrony Bank credit card, we don't have any excuse for not paying closer attention to the fine print of Lowe's and Synchrony Bank's sleazy and underhanded credit card contract. But we hoped we could work something out with these companies. We called Lowe's and Synchrony Bank's customer "care" lines not once, not twice, not thrice, but five times so far with no resolution. It's the same every time: Getting bounced around the automated menu, finally talking to a human who plays the 'sympathetic ear' script and offers no resolution, then they earnestly assure you they will "escalate" and "fast track" this issue and call you back within 24 hours (their words every time). And of course Synchrony lays it on Lowe's doorstep and visa versa. You'll never guess how many times either company called back.. 0. Honestly Lowe's, I'd have more respect if your 'care' line just said "Well did you read the contract" and be done with it. But no, you run the 'sympathetic' script and just put us off, put us off, and put us off. Just waiting until we give up. Congratulations Lowe's, you vile snakes. You suckered yet another customer and are siphoning thousands of dollars you did not earn. We'll figure out how to pay this off because we did sign up for this didn't we? But because of your sleazeball shyster tactics more befitting of a crooked pawn shop run by ex-felons and your non-existent customer "care" that really just specializes in waiting you out, you have lost a family of customers for life. read more

I really hope they figure out their online ordering pick-up system. I went that route because I was in a time crunch and it ended up taking so much longer than if I had gone to shop for the items myself. The employees were kind and trying their best, but that system needs to be streamlined, otherwise it is pointless. They should consider getting some tips from however Fred Meyer does their pick-up services. That's what I was expecting, but was surely disappointed. They didn't have all my items when I arrived, nor did they notice this. I had to inform them that I bought multiples of an item and then had to wait about ten minutes for an employee to retrieve it. They messed up cancelling an out of stock item and then had to ring me through the cashier. Then! I got a call the next morning informing me to pick up my items that I had already bought (for a transaction they told me was cancelled). I had to call them and ensure I was refunded. This is a really great idea for a service, but it is an ironic failure right now. Just seems like a hot mess! read more

5 stars JUST for Cher the plumbing specialist. She cares very deeply about her customers and does EVERYTHING she can for them (more than the supervisors do) even though it wasn't her department! This store is very fortunate to have her on their team, and may want to rethink who they have in leadership positions. Lowe's personnel in Bellingham is a big disappointment. Having just moved into the area, I've been there several times as I've shopped at Lowe's in another state for years. Not all of the employees but the majority are lacking in customer service of any kind and a lack of knowledge of merchandise. Not only in the store but over the phone as well. The problem obviously lies within their management. A good manager is essential to good staffing. Lowe's has good value for a good selection of merchandise. Unfortunately, due to the above mentioned problems, I have begun shopping online at large companies that give great customer service. read more
