I've been going to this location for the past 3 years. However, after the past couple of visits, especially today, I have decided to stop shopping here. We don't go grocery shopping often and tend to do one big trip once or twice a month. Having said that, most of the products here were either expiring within a few days or were already expired. I was looking at some cheese, I sometimes do the "manager's special" which means it's expiring soon. The cheese I picked up was completely molded. The produce section is a hit or miss. Nearly all of the bags of premade salads were expiring within a few days and the onions had fruit flies and bruising all over them. The soon-to-be expired food selection really makes grocery shopping for the month really difficult. On top of pricing, this is no longer the cheaper grocery store option in Wake Forest. The staff have always been lovely and oddly enough, I've made connections with quite a few people working in the checkout section. We special ordered a cake for the five year anniversary of our organization. The person who took our order said a white cake and lemon frosting with our group logo would be perfect. Instead we got a white cake and white frosting. We were told at pick up "I can try to fix it" but did not tell us what that meant. More likely than not just scraping the frosting off and putting on new. She did take off the price of putting the logo on and then offered the wonderful excuse " The logo is better on white anyway yellow frosting would tint the logo yellow" Guest services said "Oh, I'm sorry" and did not offer any assistance whatsoever. The correct answer should have been "What can I do take make it right". Now we know why it's guest services and not customer service as they provided no real customer service Overall our experience with the bakery and a custom order was terrible as was the lack of caring at guest services. I would consider not using them for custom orders or be specific in telling the to do what you ordered and don't make changes. read more

The Lowe's Fuel Center is located in Gateway Commons in Wake Forest. Besides selling gasoline there is an air station and a small area to get auto supplies like window washer fluid and snacks. The prices tend to be lower here than other gas stations and if I I happen to be in the shopping center I will fill up here. read more

I've only been here twice, but each time the store has been so clean & so tidy. Everything perfectly in place. The cashier was super friendly & I was able to find everything I needed. It like Chick-fil-a in a grocery store form. I truly feel like it's their pleasure to help me when I'm there. I like that they have self-checkout & I used that yesterday. It was quick & I was in and out in no time. They are open until 12 am which I didn't know before. They have everything you could ever be looking for all right there at your fingertips. They also have grocery pickup if you don't want to go into the store. You just call them & they bring your order out. I highly recommend this store. read more

Extremely friendly employees, very clean and bright store, awesome and unique food departments - what more could you want? Stopped in to grab some fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy and some of the delicious cornbread muffin tops. Dinner for under $18 and delicious, as always. Young man that helped me at the chicken take out counter was extremely polite, very professional and had a smile on his face entire time. Grocery pickup is a great service - place order online and pick up outside in designated spot. Weekly ad is crisp and clear, always a good deal to be had. I've been shopping at Lowes Foods in Gateway Commons ever since they opened years ago. First, I'd like to mention they've ALWAYS had great people working there - too many - as a matter of fact, to list. Eric, the Manager and Maria, another Manager, are always great including people in each department right down to the people who check out groceries for everyone and who also help get my groceries into the car. BUT I have special needs regarding my food and health and James, one of the managers of the Meat/Seafood Dept. has time and time again put himself out to make sure all my special orders are filled. I was really disappointed in archdale no store I bought mini roses there first thing it was ver expensive I have paid &20 for one plant and I have found a same thing in food lion for $7.98 I took it back to return it ,the customer service lady called a manager name kevin Jordan he refused to take it back because he said the product was not the same ,which One was purchased only 3 days earlier, his attitude was nasty and he was recessed clearly towards Asian , and clearly he was not standing behind there brand.I will not recommend anyone to shop there.very bad customer service I will give them only -0 star reviews. read more

I always shop at Lowe's in Five Forks, Simpsonville. I usually love the deli, but it was horrible the last two times I purchased the Roterrise Chicken Salad. It was outstanding and worth the price the first time, but the second time it was full of gristle and had cartilage throughout the entire pound. I found five bones this last time and have not even been through half a pound. At 9.99 a pound, it is ridiculous to have this quality. Some of my groceries were missing from my delivery last night. I didn't really think that much of it but called the lowes' foods to ask. I know sometimes items get forgotten and misplaced and that's totally fine. I talked to the girl that was my personal shopper (she was so kind and sweet!) and she knows she put the items in the bag so I know the driver took them. I even tipped that bitch too with some of my cash so now I am absolutely livid that she stole them. The driver that delivered my items needs to be fired. I will never order from here again. Pretty good as far as markets go. A bit pricy on their organic items which is sad these days given how many stores carry their own label at lower prices. The same goes for organic produce which is low. Twice they've had no organic tomatoes or whatever left was in poor condition. My kids love their bakery muffins (which are a once in a while treat) Atmosphere is warm and welcoming as is their staff members. It's a great place to pick up a few things in a pinch but not my main market. read more

I used to make fun of my mom when I would walk into the grocery store with her and the staff knew her....by name!!! Well, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree! My Lowe's Foods KNOWS ME and I LOVE IT! I have utilized the Lowe's Foods in Gateway Commons since it opened. I started the whole process of going elsewhere to other stores to save money but I found myself in an awful mood and hubs began telling me, "we can cut costs somewhere else but for God's sake, go back to Lowe's where you are smiling when you get home and not planning revenge on the staff and customers of Wal-mart". The truth is, for the items I get from Lowe's Foods, I do save money. We get our meats and produce from Papa Spud's (see that review, its pure awesomeness delivered to your door) but I digress. For our other staples, I go to Lowe's Foods. They have a great service that I use called "Lowe's to-go". I order my groceries online and have a saved grocery list and send it in, set-up a time to pick it up, swing by, and they load it up for me. Sounds lazy but it actually is a HUGE time saver and a HUGE money saver. I find that I do not buy random crap because I don't go in the store. I am actually doing better by using "Lowe's to-go" than I was when I followed sales and went to the horrendous Wally-world. The service is $4.95 and now that I have a set list of items we get regularly, I spend a total of about 10 minutes every two weeks getting groceries! That includes reviewing the list and adding and subtracting items from the list. You can check for the staff to substitute items for you or you can set it up where they call you when there are not items you wanted and they will ask you if you want something instead. It is fabulous!!! They also have a service where they will deliver the groceries to your home. This came in handy for a neighbor whose husband was sick and she could not leave him. She had the groceries delivered for a small fee. The staff is ALWAYS friendly and the quality of the food is superb! They have a wide range of organic foods for a great price! And just like my mom's visits to the grocery store, the staff at Lowe's knows my name! LOVE LOVE LOVE my Lowe's Foods! read more

When it comes to groceries, I cannot rationalize spending double on items at one store because it is shiny and pretty when I can get the same item for half the price at WalMart (I know, I know, they are the devil...but they do have some cheap food!). However, when I want good quality meat and poultry, I go to Lowes Foods, which also happens to be a 2 minute drive from my house. Although their prices are very high, they do have good buy one get one specials (lots of time on ice cream!), so check out their weekly circulars. The main reason I frequent Lowes is for wine. They have a fabulous selection, and the wine prices are great. They also have an awesome beer selection, and they have almost every craft brew that is made in NC! As everyone else stated, the service at Lowes is top notch. Always willing to help you if you need it, but never hounding you. And lastly, the gas deal. Loves it! Spend $100, get 5 cents off at the pump. They typically have the cheapest gas already in Wake Forest, so that extra 5 cents really makes is a great deal. This place is a joke about placing customer service complaints. The first thing they do is deny the complaint then once the complaint is verified they begin a personal attack on the customer. I have NEVER had to go through so much garbage over ONE complaint as I have with this one person at this one store. This is the absolute worst place for handling customer complaints. It's no wonder people don't complain after the way I have been treated. My business money and my personal money are going elsewhere. The new Lowes Foods opened up over a month ago and we've been a few times to check them out. It is always completely dead in there, so the associates are more than willing to help you in any way possible. This latest trip we went in looking for some good deals advertised in their circular, that when combined with coupons, would result in free items. Usually, if you are not there the second this type of sale goes into effect, you are not going to find the items. However, this store, being as dead as it is, we had no trouble with this, and found everything we came in for. They have a large wine selection, although the prices are much higher than Food Lion, WalMart, and even Harris Teeter. The good thing about this Lowes Foods location is the gas pump. If you spend $100 in groceries you will earn .05 cents off per gallon (up to 25 gallons) resulting in a good cost on these overinflated gas prices. Recently the deal was $2.44, with the .05 cent discount, where as the local gas prices are $2.49 and up. (If you spend more, you can save more etc. with the gas savings.) read more

I have been ordering cakes from Lowes for over 10 years. I started buying in Shallotte, but that store has closed. I now get them from the Bolivia store and they manage to mess up every time. I get at least 12 cakes a year for family birthdays but the last 6 maybe 3 of them were what i asked for. Then they have the audacity to get mad because i complain. I don't want a free cake i just want it done right because i have to pay for them. read more

Both Lowes stores (the one on 401 at Forestville and the one at Gateway Commons) are the same distance from our house but I choose to go to this one. The staff has been very helpful on many occasions and the always seem to have better stocked shelves for the sale items. Plus having the gas station right there is a hug help though I have found at times even with my .5 cents off per gallon that you can still find is cheaper elsewhere. read more

If you have not visited this store in the past two weeks, you are missing a real treat in shopping. The newly remodeled facilities offer a terrific puzza bar,bsuper fresh salad bar, a sausage stand and great seafood. We had the individual pizzas, which we brought home to cook, along with salad. I absolutely love love love Lowes!! They have a great beer selection, fresh foods, great produce, and the most helpful staff around. My only suggestion is that they get a true southern grandma in that place to teach them how to make authentic sweet tea. Summerville is where sweet tea was born, and the homemade tea at Lowes is not very good. I tried it twice thinking maybe they had someone new working and flubbed up the first batch, but was just as disappointed the second time. Everything about your store is amazing! Your newly remodeled stores are absolutely beautiful, and I appreciate the fact that your marketing campaign has emphasized that you are locally owned, and support local farmers. I've never seen a more successful rebranding effort like yours before, that actually kept the customer experience first and foremost in the store design. Well done! I also really like the small "shops" atmosphere, that define each department, and the extra staff available for customers. We stopped in to get a gallon of milk, and left with a bunch of things, including a new recipe for pimento cheese dip that we tasted at a sampling bar. I visited this location while on business and it was convenient to my hotel. The loction seemed to be all alone off 98. It was not business at all. It is however, a very cluttered. We've been going here for a short time now and comparing it to HT, this place rocks when it comes to service. The cashiers are very quick compared to HT employees who feel it is social hour when the store is packed. The fruit selection is hit or miss, sometimes the fruit is rotten, sometimes it is great. Same with the cheese selection, I've seen moldy cheese (that shouldn't be covered with mold) and I've seen a nice selection. Overall I really like the selections they offer, but if you are looking for much ethnic (filo dough, etc.) you could be hard pressed to find it. Offering double coupons keeps me going back. Plus they have the gas station right there so it's very convenient to everything at once. read more

I experienced terrible customer service this evening, 16 June 2017 at approx. 11:50pm. An older Caucasian woman, approx. 55 years old, was rude to me and other customers. I was attempting to purchase a sample pack of beer and a bottle of wine. After waiting in line for an extraordinarily long time for almost no one in the line, I finally received service. I left my ID on the case of beer. She checked it, then threw it back onto the beer. She eventually fished it out and shoved it in my direction with a curt "here's your ID". She looked over the case of beer and said that one of the beers wasn't a single serving beer, I explained that it was in the section of the single serving beers and next to the others in the display case. She demanded "show me!" and then walked off. I'm not a child, an employee, or a pet. I am a customer. I am an adult. She was obviously misinformed or simply oblivious. Regardless, and irrespective of her ignorance, she has no right to be short or rude to paying customers. I walked out afterward, refusing to be treated like a dog or a child. I'll never shop at Lowes Foods again. read more
