He quoted me the cost to replace but didn't include labor. When we asked for a fixed fee for the whole job he took a while then quoted me $1,000 over the first bid that was a fixed fee from a reputable plumbing contractor. Given this high price we are going with the first bid. He then charged me $330.00 for the labor which he didn't initially tell us about. Being an architect we refer subs often to clients. We will not be referring Lewis Plumbing. I understand if there is a labor cost, but should have been told that initially. Update: The owner contacted us today & he apologized for the misunderstanding for charging us a labor bill for $330.00 and said he would refund my check. We really appreciate that he went the extra mile to make it fair. Next time we will ask what they charge to come out & take a look to fix the problem. We are small business owners ourselves & thank you Lewis Plumbing for the professional reponse to our review. We would recommend Lewis Plumbing for your plumbing needs.

I called Lewis Plumbing for a drainage issue in my kitchen sink. When the Lewis Plumbing technician…read moreIsaac came in, the water was passing through, just slowly. The sink was still usable. When he left. after 3 hours, snaking kitchen line, and then, the tub and the shower line (which was fine to begin with), the kitchen line was blocked completely. I payed $900, and the problem was not resolved but worsened. I now cannot use the kitchen sink (and dishwasher) and have major repairement project on my laps. The Lewis plumber seemes to not know what he was doing. He forgot the equipment (large drain cleaner) in my shower, when I call them to take this out of my house he returned to get it, and after he left I had to srew in the drain opening myself. They charge $165 per hour, and he charged me for 4 hours work while he was only there for little over 3 hours. He lied on the invoice claiming the kitchen drain was blocked from the beginning. Shame on you, Lewis Plumbing. It's the most overpriced plumbing company in my area, and I came to them because my HOA recommended it. Now reading the reviews I see many people had bad experiences with them. I wish I researched them before choosing this company. An update: the company manager called and offered to send a technician at no cost to try to correct the issue. A senior technician came in and fixed the problem within an hour. He also brought back the check I gave them, and issued a new invoice, for $390, which seems very fair. The technician was super nice, and clearly very experienced. The bottom line: the company clearly stands up to its reputation, and makes ammends if anything goes wrong. Frankly, I did not expect this, and am more than happy with the resolution of the situation.

Plus, they didn't break down their quote into labor hours, materials or anything- it was just a number, whereas other companies submitted quotes with much more detail. Maybe they didn't even need the work since they quoted such an outrageous price

After having 4 different plumbers bid the job, Ian from Drain Masters was the best for me. What I…read morevalued most was his communication and his timeliness. I was not physically at the address where the plumbing issue was but Ian was in contact with me almost daily, would answer any questions I had quickly, sent me photos, was there when he said he would be and got the job done on time. I received bids at a lower price but I was also chasing after those plumbers (for days) to get the bid in writing, had to ask the same question multiple times to get an answer and 2 of them were over 30 minutes late to bid the job. I realized that if it was this difficult and the job hadn't even yet begun, the lower price wasn't worth it for me. Ian provided me with peace of mind and that truly made such a difference to me. I highly recommend Ian from Drain Masters.

Avoid Munoz Plumbing and Repair - HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. MUST READ. Hostile, Aggressive, Profanity,…read moreLied, Short temper, Unprofessional, and Unreliable I recently hired Raul Munoz, owner of Munoz Plumbing and Repair, to fix a leaking galvanized pipe at one of my job sites. As a licensed landscape contractor (C-27) and US military veteran deployed 2x to Afghanistan, running my small business SB Evolution Landscape in Santa Barbara, I've worked with many trades over 12+ years -- but this was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. Raul verbally agreed to complete the repair by the weekend, confirmed he would meet me and my concrete contractor (a longtime friend) on site, and repeatedly assured him over multiple phone calls that he would handle it. He even mentioned he was on a big job but would still make time. He never showed up for the scheduled meeting. On Saturday, he apparently stopped by briefly but left without fixing the leak or notifying either of us because he couldn't locate the main water shut-off valve. When I politely called for an update, he became extremely hostile, yelled "F**k You" multiple times, hung up on me, and later denied ever agreeing to the job -- despite several prior conversations he had directly with his good friend and concrete contractor colleague of mine, confirming multiple times he would. With delays each day. I completely understand that trades get busy, but we had patience since he said he would eventually do it. Clear communication and basic professionalism matter. Had he said upfront that he couldn't take the job, we would have found another plumber immediately. Instead, his delays, no-shows, broken commitments, and verbal abuse left us scrambling. I would strongly advise other contractors, homeowners, and businesses to look elsewhere. See attached screenshot of the call log from his direct line. Horrible experience with an extremely short temper, terrible aggressive manners. Wow very unfortunate and should not be in business and highly NOT recommended to hire.

The technician who came out was professional, but Rooter Solutions' corporate billing policies and…read morecustomer service are highly disappointing. I called them for a kitchen sink clog. To make the job easier and save labor time, I completely removed the P-trap myself before the technician arrived, providing wide-open, direct access to the pipe. All the technician had to do was run a standard drill auger for a few minutes and screw the P-trap back on. Despite doing half the labor myself, I was charged a premium flat rate of $217.35. The invoice line item explicitly read "Kitchen Sink Stoppage / P-Trap" meaning I was billed a flat fee for labor I actually performed myself. When I called customer service to request a fair adjustment, I was met with rigid excuses. First, I was told they "cannot adjust a balance after completion" (which is completely untrue for a credit card refund). Then, when I asked about their heavily advertised $54 drain cleaning special, they claimed it only applies to outside drains--even though I provided the exact easy, proper cleanout access their promotion requires. It is incredibly frustrating to do the prep work to make a tradesman's job easier, only to be charged full price for services not rendered. I would love to update this review if management reaches out to fairly adjust this invoice, but as it stands, I cannot recommend them due to their predatory flat-rate system.

I had been seeking a solution to speed up my hot water access in the far reaches of my home (most importantly master bathroom and kitchen). After years of wasting gallons of indispensable water and electric in drought-ridden California every time I hopped in the shower or washed dishes, I knew I had to get to the bottom of it. Not to mention that it was driving me nuts hanging out on my "honey to do" list... I reached out on NextDoor to see if other neighbors had the same issue. Sure enough, I wasn't alone! I found Riviera Plumbing on various sites with stellar reviews/recommendations and submitted a complimentary service request via their website to assess my situation. Within two hours I received a call from a plumber with availability to come by the next day! Meanwhile, I also had two other local plumbers in the running (one no-showed, while the other's estimate was too high). Cuyler arrived at my house on time the following day, looked at my hot water heater, discussed a few solutions with me, and promised me an estimate within 48 hours. Fast forward a week... Cuyler behind the scenes had to reach out to the odd manufacturer instant water heater company (Rheem), purchase the specific compatible parts and pump (which were on backorder due to national supply chain issues), and was at my home for installation day. What I particularly appreciated about Cuyler is that he is the son of a plumber and several family members with stellar skills and experience in the trade. At the same time, he has a great personality, is proficient, honest, and most of all, a perfectionist. He taught me all about how the system functions and worked diligently to confirm that everything was working smoothly--including that the pump doesn't overheat with use. Cuyler was cautious given Covid by wearing a mask and shoe covers inside my home without needing to mention it. He kept his work area neat and put back the items under my master bedroom sink exactly how they were before his arrival.
