I had a great experience with Ricky at Express Rooter. He was easy to communicate with and showed up on time. The project was to clean out roots in our pipes that were affecting drainage from our shower/tub. Other plumbing companies were suggesting that we tear up our floor and replace the pipes in their entirety. Ricky used a camera to see how bad the problem was and then suggested that we first try to fix the problem with hydro-jetting and snaking. Overdue for a review. They did our subpump after another company had redone it so poorly it failed. Burt also helped us with exterior irrigation install that required a plumber. That was a bit more challenging due to them having to deal with poor direction from AgriTurf supplies (avoid them like the plague). Our kitchen sink was completely clogged and backed up. Express Rooter was able to clear it up quickly and for a very reasonable price. Plus, they were very professional and easy to communicate with. Some back story: I originally called Roto Rooter who sent someone out that evening. The tech said he wasn't able to clear the blockage so he was going to come back in the morning with a camera. He said he wouldn't charge for the first visit and would just charge me for the camera (which was $500). Well they came back with the camera, stuck it in couldn't really see anything. They confirmed the location of the blockage and told me that the vent pipe was installed incorrectly and the plumbing connection was failing. They started quoting me $1500 to do a water jet and if that didn't work we'd be looking at multiple thousands to cut open the slab and repair the pipe. I'm SO thankful I called Express Rooter. They told me that in all likelihood it was a simple clog that they could clear. They use a better machine that has a cutter on the end of the cable to cut through corrosion and buildup. Within minutes their machine had cut through the clog and my sink was draining better than ever! read more

When SB city told me to replace my aging sewer lateral line, I contacted numerous plumbing contractors in the area for estimates and settled on Express Rooters. I am very happy that I did. They were competitive on price and did a great job on the sewer line replacement with a minimum of disruption in service. They handled the permits and inspections with the city and were very professional. If you are dealing with a sewer lateral replacement (and the wye connection in the street), this requires a plumber who is both licensed to do so and experienced in dealing with the city. Had a hot water recirculation system installed. Quote was $1,000 which I thought was steep so bought the Grundfos system myself ($260) instead of their quote of ($575) and had them install it for $377. Didn't realize it was such a simple installation of the unit and a bypass valve, took less than an hour to install. Our toilet clogged and overflowed. I called Express-Rooter and they were very friendly and responsive, giving us a same-day appointment at a time that worked for us since we were working from home. This was during COVID-19 social distancing. The plumber, Angel, followed proper social distancing and hygiene procedures. He then quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it right away (calcium build-up clogging the pipe). He ran to get some acid and came back right away. Hopefully this will fix the problem so we can avoid having to buy a whole new toilet. He explained follow-up procedures clearly. Costs were reasonable and the owner, Burt, even offered us a 10% discount. I would definitely recommend this company and would call them again if plumbing problems emerge in the future. read more

if I could negative stars I would. This is one of the worst hood companies I've ever had business with. Multiple missed appointment. Text sent to confirm appointments and techs didn't show up. Based on the address, they are operating out their home. The office staff is unprofessional, and do not understand customer service. I would report them to the BBB but of course they are not on there. I've been without hot water for 3 weeks because of them. The manager is ill equipped to deal with anything. This is a COVID start up that cannot even live up to expectations. Please don't waste your time or money. read more

Our home in Carpinteria is a tad on the older side, year after year a new problem comes along and plumbing seems to be front and center! Over the years we've had plumbers from different companies, family friends - from everywhere and still the problems persist. Desperately, we decided to give a new company we've never dealt with a call. My goodness we should have called Express Rooter sooner! We called them and same day within 2 hours were there! We called for one issue with the washing machine, Juan and his partner were knowledgeable and helpful. Very next day, on a Sunday our shower wouldn't turn off! Called them to come asap, they were there within 30 minutes! Not only resolved the issue but let us know how work was guaranteed. Problem with the shower came up again on Wednesday, Sarah answered and sent the same guy (wish I got his name, he is amazing!) with the parts within 15 minutes! Her customer service is above what I expected, we are so so happy with these guys! We are only left with regret not knowing about them years ago. Today Juan came over to look at our drains not draining. He snaked the pipes , checked out all of our drains inside the house. The whole time being very pleasant, informative and taking care of the problem in a timely manner. It only took 10 minutes or so. The reason I am so happy with this company and Juan is the previous day I had another company come out and without attempting to snake the pipes, tried to get me to spend $1100 on a high pressure cleaning. I was charged for the service call and they never tried to fix the problem. For anyone reading reviews to find an honest company, I strongly recommend Express Rooter! I was extremely satisfied with the service I received from Express-Rooter! Not only do they answer your phone call over the weekend, but they show up on time. I had a bathroom shower emergency and they sent a plumber the same day for a free estimate! Many other Plumbing Companies are charging a fee just to come out. Unfortunately, the part needed was not available until Monday, so they scheduled a time to come then. Again, they arrived promptly at the beginning of the time window given and Ricky completed the job (obtaining parts and all) within an hour. Our water filtration yearly service call lead to needing a plumber. I needed a new water heater cuz it was knocking and I got 3 quotes . Express rooter was the median quote of the 3 but Ricky agreed to match the lowest quote AND replace the water heater the same day whereas the other plumbers cud not do it same day. The drain line for our connected pair of Master Bathroom sinks became clogged. The problem appeared early on a weekend, complicating the repair.
