I had the appointment on Monday morning but I did not hear from them, the Friday before, the exact time window and not after I called them Monday morning. They were supposed to be open at 7:30 and I left a message to be called back. I called a few times later because 8:15-9am was the slot they discussed with me. I waited and waited and when I called after 9am I finally got somebody to answer and they told me that they knew on Friday that they had no slot for me, did not bother to notify me and she talked about September. Can you imagine this? I was livid and told them that I don't want to deal with them ever again. If you are reading this, stay away from these guys.

While it may not be as cold and wet as an east coast winter, California winters can be just as harsh for native Californians. Most HVAC companies take advantage of this and either up their prices or take their sweet time making an appointment. Wizard HVAC is the opposite. It was by chance that we met a Wizard HVAC rep and was fortunate enough to take a business card. When the need for heater repair came up for my own unit on a week that had the chilliest nights so far this fall, and several other HVAC companies wanted to schedule the diagnosis a week out or wanted to charge an arm and a leg, Wizard HVAC immediately scheduled a same day service. Jonathan arrived promptly and conducted himself professionally. He did not make assumptions and bullshit his way through the service, but actually pointed out what he observed and why he knew a certain part was the issue. Everything was factual and it made sense, even to someone with limited HVAC knowledge. Jonathan had to leave and purchase the part he needed, but was back within a couple of hours. The heater was in working condition before the day was over! He saved me from another chilly night, and for a very reasonable price!

--- Review for Bill…read moreBarret I rarely leave reviews, but I need to warn anyone considering hiring Bill Barret. He was brought in to install a new AC system for the commercial building where my office is located. He made repeated promises that everything would work perfectly. That did not happen. After he "fixed" things, I now have little to no air coming out of my vent--while every other office in the building has functioning AC. I run a business that requires windows to stay closed for client privacy, and a comfortable, quiet environment is non-negotiable. Bill was fully aware of this. Because of the broken promises, I've been forced to buy several devices just to keep the room tolerable. They're loud, disruptive to my clients, and eating into my business. I've sent him multiple messages trying to get this resolved. He told me he'd replace the thermostat, told me he'd fix the vent, told me the new system would take care of everything. Instead, I have an unusable space and a strained relationship with the property owner that was previously good. Nothing was followed through. No communication, no accountability. If you value your business or your sanity, be very careful here. I wouldn't want anyone else to go through this. ---

After having 4 different plumbers bid the job, Ian from Drain Masters was the best for me. What I…read morevalued most was his communication and his timeliness. I was not physically at the address where the plumbing issue was but Ian was in contact with me almost daily, would answer any questions I had quickly, sent me photos, was there when he said he would be and got the job done on time. I received bids at a lower price but I was also chasing after those plumbers (for days) to get the bid in writing, had to ask the same question multiple times to get an answer and 2 of them were over 30 minutes late to bid the job. I realized that if it was this difficult and the job hadn't even yet begun, the lower price wasn't worth it for me. Ian provided me with peace of mind and that truly made such a difference to me. I highly recommend Ian from Drain Masters.

He quoted me the cost to replace but didn't include labor. When we asked for a fixed fee for the whole job he took a while then quoted me $1,000 over the first bid that was a fixed fee from a reputable plumbing contractor. Given this high price we are going with the first bid. He then charged me $330.00 for the labor which he didn't initially tell us about. Being an architect we refer subs often to clients. We will not be referring Lewis Plumbing. I understand if there is a labor cost, but should have been told that initially. Update: The owner contacted us today & he apologized for the misunderstanding for charging us a labor bill for $330.00 and said he would refund my check. We really appreciate that he went the extra mile to make it fair. Next time we will ask what they charge to come out & take a look to fix the problem. We are small business owners ourselves & thank you Lewis Plumbing for the professional reponse to our review. We would recommend Lewis Plumbing for your plumbing needs.

When he left. after 3 hours, snaking kitchen line, and then, the tub and the shower line (which was fine to begin with), the kitchen line was blocked completely. I payed $900, and the problem was not resolved but worsened. I now cannot use the kitchen sink (and dishwasher) and have major repairement project on my laps. The Lewis plumber seemes to not know what he was doing. He forgot the equipment (large drain cleaner) in my shower, when I call them to take this out of my house he returned to get it, and after he left I had to srew in the drain opening myself. They charge $165 per hour, and he charged me for 4 hours work while he was only there for little over 3 hours. He lied on the invoice claiming the kitchen drain was blocked from the beginning. Shame on you, Lewis Plumbing. It's the most overpriced plumbing company in my area, and I came to them because my HOA recommended it. Now reading the reviews I see many people had bad experiences with them. I wish I researched them before choosing this company. An update: the company manager called and offered to send a technician at no cost to try to correct the issue. A senior technician came in and fixed the problem within an hour. He also brought back the check I gave them, and issued a new invoice, for $390, which seems very fair. The technician was super nice, and clearly very experienced. The bottom line: the company clearly stands up to its reputation, and makes ammends if anything goes wrong. Frankly, I did not expect this, and am more than happy with the resolution of the situation.
