Donny is great! He came highly recommended to my parents, and helped them fix a long standing issue drainage issue with their washing machine and the kitchen sink. When we had a clogged drain he was able to come out quickly. Most plumbers just want to snake the toilet or the shower. He asked about clean outs, and we thought we only had one on the inside of a closet, but he went exploring outside and found one that had been filled in with concrete when the driveway had been repaved years ago. He actually chipped it out and discovered we had really good access. He used high pressure to clear any blockage, and gave us a bunch of feedback based on what he did and did not see and hear. He even told us our pipes looked good, and showed us how we could do this ourselves in the future if we had a blockage since it was so easy with our set up. I really appreciated that he took a few minutes to assess everything rather than just run a snake down the drain. I got the sense he really understood what he was doing, and really looked for the best solution. It was also great to have him take the time to show us what we could do next time so we wouldn't need to call him, though given our experience I would be happy to use him again! read more

Donny is a stand up guy. His honesty, hard work, and integrity make him a true rarity. I recently bought a truck off him, and it was the most amazing purchase I've made. The truck was clean, mechanically perfect, and best of all it used to be Donny's. He explained the whole truck to me from bumper to bumper. He fixed anything and everything in order to ensure he was selling a sound vehicle. I was COMPLETELY amazed by him! If he's this honest and skilled with his vehicles then must be one damn good plumber. I did some research on him and found his plumbing company. I decided to leave this review here because it was the only way I could tell everyone else how unbelievably amazing this guy is. If I lived in Santa Barbara I would use him for all of my plumbing needs. Stand up guy. Couldn't be happier. read more

Stacey did a bunch of work for us recently, and we were very happy with DC Plumbing overall. And Donny was on top of things and took care of us with any issues that came up (it was a complex job with lots of parts). Their price was very fair (less expensive than several other options we looked at), Stacey worked hard and got a ton done in a reasonable time, and they were very responsive on timing (we had tight time schedules and they worked us in). Very happy. read more

We were very satisfied with DC plumbing. They installed a new water heater, replaced kitchen faucet and cooktop, installed hot/cold filter and faucet, changed the plumbing for a utility sink in our garage. They were able to get the work done in a timely manner and at a fair price. Stacey completed all the work and Donny handled all the scheduling. We were very happy with the experience! read more

You can sell anybody just about anything if you can scare them enough, which is how most plumbers operate. They'll stand there looking at your problem like Sheriff Taylor on the Andy Griffith Show. Breathing heavy and shaking their head with feigned concern "Geez....golly gee...well, I don't know... Boy oh boy" and the like. The reality is 95% of the time plumbers know the problem and the solution before they even arrive at your house. But they're not going to let you know that. Not a chance. The money is in (a) doing more labor and adding more new parts than necessary and (b) overstating to you the time and complexity it's going to take to do the job. And if they can do the job using "cheats" (hidden shortcuts they can hide from view or hope you'll never notice) all the better -- A few months back my family got screwed, blued and tattooed for 1000's of dollars by a local plumbing firm in this manner. I won't mention the company name but a hint is years ago they used to be singer Dean Martin's partner. Donnie Crawford doesn't operate this way. He tells you the problem, and the solution, with no fear mongering drama or double-talk or bait and switch. He gives you a very fair quote. He does the job. He does the job right. No more, and no less, labor and parts than needed. You pay him. Done. The downside for Donnie is his company is probably making 100-150K less a year than the other guys in town. The upside is he sleeps well at night, is proud of his work, and will NEVER fear bumping into one of his customers at the grocery store. It took me years and years before I found a car mechanic that I can just toss the keys to and say "fix it" and know the job will be done properly and at a fair price. - Now I can (thankfully) say I've found a plumber that I feel the same way about. - Donnie and his crew at DC Plumbing are simply the best. Period. read more

Wow, woke up to a clogged toilet this morning. I called this company and Donnie answered my call. I had to be somewhere shortly after I called. I asked for his card so that I can use them in the future, thanks Donnie, Kim and family! read more

I can't say enough good things about this company! I have used their services twice now, most recently when my kitchen sink refused to be unclogged. Donny sent Josh out to tackle the problem...which turned out to be more complicated than expected, due to the age of the house. When Josh said the repair would require actually cutting into the wall (yikes!) to replace a very old pipe, I was a bit worried. Unnecessarily, as it turned out! Not only is Josh extremely efficient as a plumber, his carpentry skills are excellent as well, and the cuts he had to make into the wall are barely visible. On top of that, he is a really down-to-earth, genuinely nice guy. Apparently that's the only kind of people Donny works with. I would give them 10 stars if I could. Heartily recommend. read more

We've had a lot of serious issues lately with plumbing. I've had the pleasure of working with Donny,Jim and Ryan and I can't say enough good things about all of them. They are polite, patient and genuinely nice. Donny took time to explain everything to me in terms I could understand. Frankly, he seems to be just a very very smart guy! When it comes to home repairs etc I'm always expecting to be taken advantage of and being sold something I don't need. But this group is unconditionally honest. They have given me options for their work that would fit my budget and still solve my problem. I very highly recommend DC Plumbing!! read more

jim was amazing, nice and took care of our blocked drain in 20 minutes. Great company. highly recommend.

Donny got me set up with a new water heater almost instantly when mine crapped out, and at a fair price. Donny got it done fast and well and I'd be showering in cold water right now if I waited for Home Depot to deliver. This is the second service he has performed for me. He responds quickly to calls and texts, unlike so many others. Highest integrity and service level. This is the guy to call if you have a plumbing need! read more

We contacted DC Plumbing because we saw such excellent reviews. So glad we did. Donny proved to be highly professional, dependable, knowledgable, and capable. He adjusted the assemblies of two malfunctioning shower valves and replaced a gasket and installed a new pressure regulator on our main line. He also tightened a leaking hose bib and removed with considerable effort an old gas igniter in our fireplace. All the while he was informative and courteous -- a first rate guy. The best part ? His prices were very reasonable. I would not hesitate to recommend him for anyone with plumbing questions or needs. read more

Donnie is awesome. Has cleared our drains a few times, replaced our toilet, fixed our shower, and always goes above and beyond the call of duty! He even came out last Christmas !! He's local, personable, trustworthy and hard working. I recommend him to everyone! read more

I was looking for a plumber to replace some old hose bibs on my property. The house is around 65 years old, and the bibs were frozen to the pipes after years of rust, mineral, and paint accumulation. I needed someone experienced, who could detach the old bibs without accidentally breaking the pipes. I read the reviews here on Yelp and decided to give DC Plumbing a call. I was happy I did. I spoke to Donny and explained what I needed. I immediately appreciated the time and effort he took to explain that there are numerous styles of bibs and it would be helpful if I took photos of mine so there would be a better chance of him having the right ones. I thought to myself, "I appreciate how EFFICIENT this guy is. He's not going to waste my time or his!" I sent the photos to his phone and he texted me back to confirm one of the appointment times we had discussed. So, a few days ago, Donnie showed up PROMPTLY, and went to work. It turned out the bibs were extremely frozen to the pipes. They weren't budging with the full torque of his plumbing wrench. He problem solved this right away by using his torch. Since I don't know about much about the plumbing trade, maybe the job he did was what any plumber would do. But, I have to say, I appreciated his EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION, and EFFICIENCY. I am very satisfied with his work. Because of this, he is someone I would use in the future. I feel he is a TRUSTWORTHY professional. read more
