I was here for a holiday luncheon for work with 14 people. The customer service was quite good and quick considering that this was a pretty big lunch hour crowd during the week. The menu had lots of options from burgers to sandwiches to ramen to grain bowls. After some serious deliberation, I ended up getting the Deep Purple, an eggplant parmesan panini with a side of fries. The sandwich came with an ample side of marinara. For a vegetarian dish, I thought this was an especially hearty and satisfying option. Surprisingly, the sandwich was even more delicious after I took the leftovers home, covered the eggplant with marinara, and refrigerated it. I would actually recommend treating it like a cold sub if you have any leftovers...which you might. This was very filling! The fries were ok...shoelace size and a bit overcooked for my liking. Would be happy to return in the future and my coworkers want to order to go someday. read more

Lovin Cup is a fun spot for a coffee or a drink. They have been a place during Covid I can go with my gf and enjoy LIVE MUSIC! It's an open mic and there is a large variety. Most of it is good haha. The drinks and coffee are good. I have yet to try their food but from the looks of it, its good. I'm excited to try it tho!! All in all this place is definitely worth checking out! read more

My second review for the Lovin' Cup! Yes, they deserve it! Why? 'Cuz I dig their attention to folks like me who need to eliminate gluten from their diet. Gluten free is more than a fad, folks... it's becoming a way of life for people like me with digestive issues. Really cute place with good coffee and a decent menu. The reason for the 3 star review is because the food was standard, nothing that really was over the top. The service however was severely lacking. We sat outside because it was a nice day and they do have corn hole which keeps the kids occupied (this is a huge plus). I think this is the reason the service lacked because we were forgotten about. We had to go inside twice and ask for creamer and a coffee refill. Hometown ThrowDown is the place to be tonight. Food/Beer pairings competition with some wine offerings from Camp Good Days and Special Times and Iron Smoke Whiskey's Snakebite Rosies Apple Pie Whiskey and their straight sipping bourbon. Maple Blueberry donuts and Rohrbach's ale of the same name, pistachio ice cream with porter, and a whole lot more to tempt the tastebuds. The 9th annual is well attended and well tasted. It was very hard to pick blue and red ribbon selections. The weather cooperated. A fun time is being had by all. Since my original beer tasting I've attended two of their multi band food and drinkapalooza events which are fantastic other than a lack of places to sit. The crowd is good and well managed the beer n food folks are happy and inviting...and then there's local music. What more could you ask for, in any season they bring it. read more

If you want your basic place near the rochester college kids and craft beer - this is your place. The food was not really anything I would come back to but if you need a "safe" place to eat that's not a chain, this is your place. It's like coffee shop, meets bar food? Very eclectic. My cousin got the soup and sandwich option and her sandwich honestly had more bread than pesto. My friend and I got burgers which were good so maybe stick to their burgers. I got the Bayou weas burger and they really load you up with fries which was nice. My burger was cook perfectly though - medium rare and you're getting a deal with their burgers - they are huge. Our waiter did forget part of my order....but again this is in a college area... Maybe people come here for the live music they have and the craft beer selection which also seemed a bit slim. If i went to school in the area, I think I'd love it more for the ambiance and place to meet friends (the whole time we saw a bunch of college kids on their phones just hanging out). read more

It had been a while since I had been to Lovin' Cup and since the last time it seems they have jumped into the ramen game (more on that later). Most of the other menu items where the same as what I remembered from before with a great selection of sandwiches, burgers, soups and salads as well as a list of entrees. There is also a snack menu with many choices for sharing. The beer here is outstanding. There is a good mix of flavor profiles and always a few good IPAs on draft which make me extra happy. I went with the SingleCut 18 Watt Billy today which is a juicy, 5% glass of happiness. Old school coffee options and espresso are also available, which provides a nice mix. Back to the Ramen. I appreciate that the Ramen is made in a vegetarian broth. The broth was tasty but not overly flavorful. The bowl was packed with flat noodles and fresh peppers, squash and mushrooms. A hard boiled egg is sliced and floated on the top. This was a good choice for me on a day when I was feeling a sore throat starting, but probably won't stand up to the tastes of a classic ramen fan. Lovin' Cup is always a good choice for a casual meal. Today I took my laptop and caught up on work. Sunday was the perfect time for this, it was nice and quiet! Great eclectic restaurant with a vibe of funk, jazz, art and dining all in one. I had the chicken noodle bowl which was huge in portion and full of flavor and ingredients. The broth was lite and delicate with tons of flavor and warmth (not spicy). Tons of noodles, chicken and various vegetables and seasonings. Looking around everyone seemed to be enjoying their meals and the environment. Staff was nice but busy which left it hit or miss on getting service, and a rather long wait on food- but it was worth the wait. I wouldn't hesitate going back again and trying more of their food. They also have a wide variety of bands that come and play throughout the year which is an added bonus for a nice night out. I've been here many times. Work also uses them for catering. The place is trendy. They have coffee and a good sized craft beer menu. The food is mostly sandwhiches and burgers but everything has a twist. Everything is named after rock music in some way. The biggest problem are the prices. I went for lunch. I got a sandwich, soda, fries, and a side salad and it was around $22. I really cant recommend going here for lunch because the prices are way too high for what it is. The hurdy gurdy man chicken salad curry sandwhich is good and something people probably wouldn't expect to get. The deep purple eggplant is OK...the sauce isnt that good and the sandwhich then lacks flavor without it. The uncle cracker chicken sandwhich is pretty good. The burgers are good as well. They have a home made dill dressing which is my favorite for salads there. A side salad is expensive though. Outside seating is nice. It's in park point and overlooks the central area. If the weather is nice, its one of the few places in the area to have a drink outside. Beer is a little on the expensive side for me and there is a wait frequently. The bar gets backed up too which is annoying. They have live bands at night and it gets packed. read more

Incredible food, by far the best I've had close to campus. Such a great variety of options and even the appetizers make for great dinners. I've been here at least 6 times now and I've never been disappointed by a meal or a drink which I'd say is a win. I definitely recommend you try the wings, and the sweet potato fries. Both are cooked and seasoned to perfection. You can't go wrong with a burger or a burger or a sandwich either. I haven't tried any main course dishes as a college student I prefer the cheaper options but other reviews seem to be positive. The service is always friendly and quick. The only reason I give 4 stars is there's never been a quiet atmosphere and for a place that serves so many amazing coffee drinks sometimes I wish there were a calm vibe. Nonetheless the live music and other events always seem like a blast so I don't think it's something to turn you away. Update: I retract my quiet comment. If you scout out there concert schedule you can absolutely find plenty of time to go in which it won't be loud. This place has become my go to for lunch and dinner when we don't want to try something new and I've loved every meal I've had. read more

Super cool ambience. Nice for a date or chat with a friend. Good coffee. Friendly vibes. I feel like they probably have music gigs and jazz trios up in here. It's clean. There is a person to show you to your table. It even has a spot to have meetings and events. It has outdoor seating or as the polite company would call it...al fresco. The interior has a restaurant feel with a bit of grunge and metal. I think the best part of the visit was reading the coffee menu. It is really out of the box kind of names that keep a smile on my face. I love it when people go beyond to do their job. The barista got us our coffee and was efficient. Not super friendly but I do not expect it when it comes to cafes. At the end of the day, coffee is coffee. I had fun and got to ogle the artsy wall. I swear it sparked some creativity festering in the deep recesses of my mind. It's a lot of fun here. I never tried the food so maybe one day I will. read more

Had dinner here for the first time in over a year (mainly because I don't often drive to RIT for dinner since I live in the city). I ordered the Bowling Green wrap which is all veggie with hummus and avocado, and my parents each ordered a Bell Bottom Blues burger. All 3 sandwiches came with their string fries and a pickle. We all enjoyed! Lovin' Cup has a really nice feel - whether you are eating, drinking, getting coffee or stopping in for live music. Our service and server were both great, the place was clean, and portions were hearty. For a bar they have a great menu with lots of options; food is fresh and there are lots of beers on tap. It's a solid stop if you are in the area! If you are heading there just to hear music - go early to get a table by the stage and park, as the lot fills up quickly! read more

Lovin cup is a great spot to meet some friends out for dinner/ drinks. I love that they have live entertainment. The band that was playing last night was really good!!! The food was excellent! I had the me and mr. Jones wrap and it was sooo good! Came with a fresh, crunchy deli pickle (my faves) and delicious French fries, tastefully seasoned. Manny, as always... Ordered a garbage plate and the meat sauce was delicious, and awesome Mac salad!! Our server was awesome! He was so in the know and really cool guy to talk to! Came here for Trivia on Monday night and was disappointed to hear that their trivia was moved to Wednesdays for the time being. My friends and I were hungry so we sat down and ordered dinner instead. I got the Bayou Wease, which was a burger with peppers, onions, guac, cajun seasoning, cheddar, and chipotle mayo. Burger was solid -- juicy, but not falling apart so. It had a bit of a spicy kick to it. If I come here again, I might try the Bell Bottom Blues instead. Cool thing about this place is that they have a cool event almost every night of the week. I'll tell you this, the former student inside me is so envious of the new campus expansion and new restaurants that embellish the outer skirts of it. If I was a student today, The Lovin' Cup would be my favorite place to meet up for a bite or drink while we work on our class projects. My husband and I ordered regular coffee mochas and split a chicken prosciutto panini with fries and mac salad. Everything was good but the chicken panini was lacking in flavor. Recently went on a Tuesday which was open mic night. Everyone was so talented and the whole operation ran very smoothly. They take Covid seriously and I felt safe being inside. They swapped out and sanitized the mikes after each performer and all the tables are amply spaced out. Everyone wore a mask and it wasn't over crowded. Our bartender/server was friendly and efficient. I got the fries with their special sauce and I could have drank that stuff it was so good! Salsa nights, Lovin' Cup's very own local version of American Idol, Homegrown Festivals (all featuring local brews and food), Stick y Lips Shakedown, Paint Nights, Meals paired with brews, Gianda Panda Guerilla Dubsquad, tc. They have open mic nights, and do trivia with Geeks Who Drink on Wednesdays. When there are events, it is packed, but it is a great place to be. One of the reasons I love Lovin' is because it caters to a large demographic. You can go in and see people in their 60s enjoying the same music as 20-something hipsters and people with dreads in their dirty thirties. It doesn't matter who shows up, as long you you like a good beer, music, and some food. I have gotten their steak, paninis, pastas and a large array of drinks. I really had high hopes for Lovin' Cup - and I have waited a while to let my experience sort of sink in before writing my review.. but I still feel disappointed by my experience. Maybe it was the time of day? Maybe the day of the week? I don't know - I just didn't feel this place. My friends and I stopped on a Wednesday evening for dinner. We arrived around 5 and got a booth near the back. Seating was fine for five of us. Three of us arrived around the same time and two were a little late, and I felt like our server wasn't thrilled with that - not that the place was busy anyways. It was too early for live music, and the place just seemed lifeless. I was hoping for a little bit more enthusiasm or something. The drink I ordered was mediocre. The food was mediocre. The service was mediocre. Especially for the price. I SO wanted to like it here especially since so many others have had great experiences. I'm sure I'll try it again, but maybe just for a coffee date and live music. read more

I've been to this place a couple of times now. Both times, I've loved the ambiance. It's peaceful with good music all the time. There is usually a live performance every day and even otherwise, the playlist is pretty good and sets you up for a good meal. I've tried the Mr. Krinkle and Burnin' Down the House. Both were tasty but the latter was more filling. The mix of sour cream and salsa with added jalapenos was just perfect. For main course I've had the Oops, I did it again. We went here because I was craving a steak salad and it was relatively close by. My girlfriend also spoke somewhat highly of this place as she had been here quite a few times before. Right when we entered, one of the crew was talking to us about our seating, but didn't seem to want to actually seat us and continue to talk to us about the show and other things. Finally, someone else came to seat us, and we realized the original employee was not the host - it appears he was in charge of the music side of things, but it was very confusing and started things off with a weird vibe. Drink selection looked okay but we weren't drinking that night, so we went straight into our orders. I of course ordered the steak salad (Flank Zappa) and my girlfriend ordered the cheese board. The menu was very extensive and I think anyone could find something to suit their tastes for the night. Our dishes came out impressively quickly for how busy the restaurant was, which was great. My salad was a rather big size, but the dish itself was a bit disappointing. The steak was lukewarm and got cold very quickly (surprising due to the speed at which was received our meal - I wonder if I didn't get a freshly cooked steak), and also had a sort of middle-of-the-road flavor. Lots of raw red onions, but luckily I like them and liked the dish enough to clear my plate. The cheese board was very good, if a tad uninspired. Two types of cheese (steakhouse onion cheddar and gouda) with two types of salami, giardiniera, and a few apple slices, along with some generic crackers for serving. We both had everything on the plate and liked it, though the steakhouse onion cheddar can be a bit overwhelming after a while. I would have liked to see three different cheese, especially since one was so strong - a third with smaller portions of all three would have been a better spread. Though we didn't stay for the concert, I was appreciative that we could choose to or not to and still be accommodated. I also think it's great to see something on a college campus so dedicated to live music. This place has a great vibe. Food is very good with everything tasting fresh and delicious. Only issue was drinks were only ok. I order a margarita and there was no salt on the rim, np I thought I could just request it. Waitress said on my next drink I can get salt on rim. Husband order beer, he said it was very dry and skunky. The waitress never asked him why he didn't touch his drink. Her serves wasn't rude but just not attentive. She just didn't really give services. They did have a bus girl who was very nice brought us waters. We gave her a 20% tip and our waitress got 10%. read more

On arriving they let us know that there was a 20 minute wait. 20, 30, 40, minutes go by, nothing seems to be moving. I understand Fridays are busy, and there was apparently entertainment later, but it was dragging. It took almost an hour to get seated and then another 10, 15, 20... till we were even acknowledged.
