I have been customer for over six years and I can't imagine going elsewhere for my nails. Annie has been doing my nails from the very beginning and her work is always professional. The staff is friendly, the place is clean and the atmosphere is relaxing (sometimes festive when we all start joking around). My little girl is also a regular...been bringing her for mani/pedicures since she was 11 - no problems. I think the pricing is very reasonable for the quality of work they do. I am a firm believer in, "you get what you pay for." If you are looking for the "99 cent store" of nail salons, this isn't the place. read more

So after being on vacation for 2 months, the first thing I had to do was get a mani and pedi. Since I had to visit a friend down in OC, I decided to get my nails done down there. After a quick search on yelp, I decided to go to Lovely Nails. And it was definitely a lovely experience. For $28, I got a spa manicure and pedicure. The ladies went to work right away and did a good job. They offered me a bottle of water and magazine once I got comfy in the chair. The nail job was pretty good for the price. They do not have as many colors as other more expensive places. But the selection is still pretty good, they got all the basics covered. And the best part is that the ladies were not chit-chatting away in vietnamese the whole time. It was a relaxing experience...and a great price! My only complaint is that it is so far from where I live. I guess I'll just have to visit the OC more often! Parking: Big parking lot for the plaza. read more

I used to be a regular here. It was always hit or miss on quality, but a decent price, and if you knew who to ask for, you could get a pretty good value most of the time. Fast forward to a few years ago, when "decent" turned to "awful", and I was only happy with my nails maybe 20% of the time and just gave up. Since then, I've popped in a couple times a year to check the quality, and I've never been tempted to resume with them. Today was no different. I had 1.5 hours to complete a pedi before I had to be somewhere, and instead of mentioning that they couldn't get to me for an hour, they had me wait for 20 minutes, then another 25 minutes with my feet soaking to the point of prune stage in, then, cold water until I finally just packed up and left without any service being performed. It goes without saying that one should mention if a wait will be THAT long, not to mention that I heard someone, still silly enough to be a regular, complain that she was unhappy with her lengthy wait time when she had an appointment. They just don't know how to deal with the public there, and the quality is mediocre, so it's not as if you're trading service for quality. Neither is good. It's not that there was a big wait; it's not TELLING people what to expect, so they can make an educated decision on whether to stay. read more

I went to get a mani/pedi with my mom about 3 weeks ago. We walked in and the lady who was at the front looked almost annoyed when we both said we wanted manicures and pedicures (there were about 2 other people in there already and 3 people working total). They started on my mom right away, but it took them about 20 minutes to start on me. The same lady that was at the front did my nails. She started with the pedicure. When she was done with the pedicure, she was about to get up to leave when I reminded her that I asked for a manicure too, and she just rolled her eyes and reluctantly did it. She asked me what color I wanted, and when I told her I wanted the same color I got on my toes (blue) she just looked at me and said "no, your nails too short. We will do clear." That somewhat bothered me that she didnt even give me a choice, because I was paying for it. Then, she didnt even cover my entire nail with the clear, but just quickly slabbed it on my nails. The entire time she was doing my nails, she kept scolding me for my short nails, which made me really uncomfortable. On the other hand, my mom next to me got the sweetest lady ever. I have been there once or twice before, and the rude lady that did my nails the most recent time was quite nice to my mom when she did hers before. After this, I honestly have no desire to go back there, because I hate being treated rudely, especially when I am paying good money for their service. read more

I only came here because I had a gift certificate from work for a spa pedicure. Right when I walked in, I wasn't greeted with a "hello" or "hi, what are you looking to get done?" like other places do. Nope... it was a rude "what you want?" When I sat down, the lady immediately started complaining about me having nail polish on my toes. (I forgot) talking to this other worker about me and pointing to my toes. So, rude! It's not that hard to get polish remover and take it off. Next, she was really rough when filing my toes that she cut me a little, but didn't say anything! She just kept going, I only knew because when she put something on my toes it stung really bad!! When she started on my pedicure, she would stop every so often to watch the tv! (Not, like glancing back & forth but still working... NO! I mean, actually turning around and stopping with my pedicure to watch it!) when she finally finished, she didn't even say anything, she just hit my foot a couple of times then got up and left! Nothing else, so I just walked out and left. Very disappointing, will not be going back. If you want great service and PROFESSIONAL workers, then I'd suggest going to Family Hair & Nails! I went in for a mani-pedi originally, but once I sat down and already started my pedicure, she handed me a price sheet... all of which was $40 and up except for one option which I chose. Should've just told her "no, I want just the regular pedicure that you have on the wall... with the regular manicure." But... whatever, live and learn! The woman who did my pedicure was really nice and took good care of my feet... but she didn't show me the control panel for the seat until half way through so my "spa pedicure" was in a lumpy awkward seat. My friend & I decided to get our nails done and decided to try Lovely Nails. We walked in & everyone was friendly we didn't have to wait too long(now I see why) and were seated within 10 minutes. I just wanted a manicure and had recently painted my nails red. When the lady doing my nails was removing the nail polish she started complaining about how sloppy i had done them, which I didn't agree with. She said i even got nail polish under my nails , which is not true. The only reason why nail polish was under my nail was because she did a sloppy job of removing it and rubbed the dirty cotton all over my finger, including under my nails. She kept complaining about how bad I did it really got to annoy me. So i just went along with her ridiculous story in hopes that she would shut up about it. I know it wasn't my fault because I constantly clean my nails and i would have noticed it. Before she painted them She asked me to pay first so i did, She reminded to give her a tip which i did because she seemed ok So i gave her a tip 4$ tip. Then she just got worse as the appointment when on.. She kept talking to her coworker in their language, which i don't understand. I know most workers at places do but they literally did not try to hide the fact that they were talking about me. She finally got to painting my nails and did a terrible job. She missed most of the sides of my nails, I know they don't paint the corner nails but i can see my bare nail from a birds eye view. She also didn't remove the nail polish correctly because i can still see red on the edges. When I asked her to fix the unpainted sides of my nails she said it's supposed to be that way because that is what causes nail polish to go under my nail. Four hours later the nail polish is still not properly dry and I have to be careful when i touch anything that can smudge or make an indentation. There were also bumps on my nails that appeared about an hour after I got them done. Also, the red nail polish i had before that she claimed I put under my nails is still there from her sloppy job.I would not recommend this place. They are nice up until they have you seated to get your nails done. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

Gel mani was $27, not bad. Nails were decent even though we waited 30 minutes when we were told we would be seen right away. Nail tech chased after me because she accidentally typed in $25 on my receipt instead of $27. I assumed she did this because she felt bad for spending 30 minutes doing a nail design that she messed up and had to completely remove. I understand she accidentally typed in $25 instead of $27, but she chased me begging me to fix it because "my boss will yell at me if you don't fix it" super unprofessional I didn't even know how to respond. read more

I came here because my regular place Beautiful Nails on a Red Hill was booked. Love that place! I walked into this place to get a gel and pedi. I picked a glitter color for the gel. The whole time they spoke to each other in Vietnamese which I find rude. They could have been speaking English and I would have felt the same. I don't want conversation between the staff while trying to relax! When I went to pay they said 48.00. I thought ok that's about what I usually pay. Then they came and gave me a bill for 58.00! I don't even want to give one star, I just paid 60$ on a mani/pedi that is the worst mani/pedi I have ever gotten!!! I got gel manicure and its bubbly it's not smooth like it should be then I asked her to do glitter hombre on my nails she just put glitter on the tip and not to mention she made me bleed and used the nail file to get excess gel off my skin around my cuticles which cut me. Then my pedicure oh my gosh, she made me bleed on both big toes digging in them so much with her tools, digging in a way she didn't need to, and the one doing my pedicure seemed irritated she had to do my pedicure the whole time, I will never go there again, if im going to pay that much it will be at the place that I love and always go to, don't go here! I forgot the name of the lady doing my nails but I found it extremely difficult to maintain a conversation with her. I recently moved to Irvine and I was looking for a new decently priced mani/pedi spot. After searching through yelp, I came across this place and the reviews seemed pretty good, so decided to take a chance and give them a try. I'm really happy I did because they did a fantastic job, plus they are really friendly and welcoming. My gel manicure ($25.00) was done with care, I chose a hot pinkish color and she made sure to apply enough coats so that the color was solid. My deluxe pedicure ($27, their normal pedi is $18) was heaven and I opted for the paraffin wax ($5) to be added (where has this been all my life?!) because I was in desperate need. The only issue I had was the lady accidentally cut me while cutting one of my toe cuticles, I didn't expect it because she was otherwise gentle. Normally, this would turn me off to places but she handled the situation perfectly. She apologized profusely and from that point on she was careful to stop the bleeding and work around my small wound. She also made sure not to dip my toe in the water after that (cleanliness is key). I appreciated the fact that she didn't just act like it didn't happen. In the end, they have a new customer until further notice. :) read more

Worst customer service. I went in just to get my acrylic nails removed and all they did was file them down, you can still see the gel and my previous color. I talked to the lady who I thought was in charge before deciding to get my nails taken off there and was told the price was 7 dollars. She inspected my nails and confirmed again that my price would indeed be 7 dollars. I get switched off by two women which is understandable but you can immediately a tense atmosphere. I try to be polite and shake off the tense situation. I get my nails done and the last lady that did my nails charged me 10 dollars. She seem to be very annoyed with the fact that she had to be one checking me out. I told her that I was initially told it would be 7 but she insisted that the extra 3 was because they had to remove the color. I did not feel like arguing or disputing any longer so I paid and left. Trying to save a few$ and was spending time in different city with husband on weekends and couldn't get to Annie and the girls, so tried 3 other salons and lets just say my cuticles hurt for 2 months min of 5 cuticle disasters per visit. and really only saved $5 per session. Come on! even killed my toe cuticles! who does that??? I have recommended to many and an office coworker goes there now as well, she had same thing as me happen(after using Annie) but because we work in LA she went else where also, Bad bad bad!!! Worst experience I have ever had in a nail salon. This is my first time ever writing a review but I feel obligated to let people know what I went through so they don't have to experience what I did. This was my first time in this salon, I just happened to be in the area. I requested a mani & pedi. The 2 elderly women who serviced me were both very mean & made me feel like an inconvenience, the woman doing my mani was very rough she tossed items around & seemed bothered by her duty & she caused 4 of my fingers to bleed!!! The woman doing my pedi didn't look at me once & she caused 2 of my toes to bleed. I have never in my life been treated so poorly. I went in to feel pampered and left feeling abused & mistreated. I will never go back to this salon again. This experience is the reason I decided to sign up for yelp & post this review. read more
