Amazing place! Great selection, prices and staff. I was in town on a business trip and spent my lunch break adding to my current wardrobe.

I tried to place an order online with this merchant and it said card declined so I tried again…read morethinking I typed something wrong. No I did not the card was correct and they ended up putting a hold on my acct for 100 dollars that I now cannot get back for 7 days. I called them they said we released but can take 3-5 days to get to card carrier and I called card carrier they cannot do anything they said funds will be realized after 7 days if charge is not processed. The funny part about this is when I called dsw they go would u like to pay woth another card ummm no u already took 100 off me.because u charged my card twice

I don't even want to give DSW a star today. This complaint is about customer safety. Today there…read morewas a gust of severe wind causing the stores power to go out. There was a warning of severe wind & storms as I reviewed the weather on the phone causing trees , wires to come down. The DSW worker told a handful of us that we have to leave and she stressed that comment 3 times. My 3 yr old grandson started to cry because he was frightened causing this employer to tell us we had to leave again. Now Lowe's power was out but the shoppers were permitted to stay in the front of the door until the winds died down. Hobby Lobby permitted their shoppers to stay. Every stores power was out. This happened today at 230 3/25 Boardman DSW. As she shut the door behind me I gave her a gesture . It was wrong but so was she. There were a handful of us and as far as I could see she didn't care about our safety! And I didn't care for her behavior !

I'll start with the reason I gave one star; The young gentleman who kept his cool and showed…read moregenuine compassion in spite of my blatant distress was very kind, helpful and even offered a no charge flock and key. I was moving out of a monthly Airbnb rental because I was forced to resign from my remote/virtual speech therapy due to what I now know was Long Covid, a textbook case per the two doctors who officially diagnosed me this past early spring. I was experiencing extremely bizarre symptoms I was not ever prone to after a mild case of Covid in late August 2022. For the next 4 months I managed to push through and almost made it to the end of the semester, but just as I was set to complete only 12-15 short, simple routine progress reports due the last day before winter break, I began shaking with tremors stemming from the core of my being and felt like I could continue to work at my stand up desk and risk death by stroke or hear failure or collapse into my bed, wrwppfreeze, I turned both my phone and computer off and spent the two week winter break too stunned and afraid and shamed because I had no clue what was wrong with me and I knew my supervisor and other school staff would be contacting me to turn in my progress reports to meet the deadline for compliance no matter the extenuating circumstance I found myself in. Like millions of other Americans who have lost their jobs to Long Covid brain, nervous system and immune system dysfunction with severely debilitating side effects with no successful treatments or cure in sight. At any rate, I was too sick and in financial ruins, afraid to leave my bed let alone drive to my storage unit to pack it all back jnto my car and store it for free at my boyfriend's house. When I was driving home from getting my dog and I out for a quick walk and fresh air on a "good" day, I stopped by and cleared out almost all of my belongings EXCEPT for a few things too heavy for me to lift from the cart to my trunk by myself. No one was around to help and it was freezing and pouring down rain, so I locked up and drove home thinking I'd take a friend to help me before the end of my rental month and be done with it; however, that's not how long Covid works; when they say not to push through and to pace yourself, they are right! I was so messed up from that little outing with my dog and stop at my storage unit that I had to spend about 2 weeks in bed recovering. When spring arrived, I called my local storage store and explained to the woman who answered that the items I'd left behind were the most important ones, really the only ones I had sentimental attachment, to: my late beloved mom's children's book collection (an exceptional and unforgettable remedial teacher for 18 years at Saint Luke's School who helped instill the love of learning through reading stories and gazing at illustrations in picture books and YA short stories; fiction, nonfiction; poetry and letter writing. She converted her room inside the dilapidated auxiliary teacher's mobile unit outside the main building into a safe, comfortable, cozy reading nook. She rocked on her wicker rocking chair reading to her student who grabbed a seat on the big puffy lavender corduroy sofa or one a bright and cheery colored floor pillow plopped down on a gently used area rug my mom scored at a thrift store along with the couch and floor pillow. She was the kind of mom who read to me at every opportunity, long after the bubbles the bath tub fizzled our and my ten little fingers and ten little toes shriveled into tiny raisins, and the bath water lukewarm warm. So I had two giant heavy wooden crates of her mostly children picture book collection; in gently worn but good condition except for the inky blue unmistakable cursive hand writing inside the front cover where she wrote her name and sometimes a memory she had reading the book to me or my little brother. She had the entire series such as my personal favorites: The Serendipity collection's Catundra a story about a plump orange tabby cat who ran out of food at his abandoned cabin in the woods by a steam where he met a very clever mouse who knew poor Catundra was always hungry because she was lonely and had no friends. The mouse said please don't eat me; I'll be your friend and teach you how to exercise and eat healthy foods. Since I'm an aspiring children's book author; it's needless to say how sentimental; irreplaceable and invaluable (but I can only imagine what someone paid because the entire series were indeed worth a decent size coin. Along with the crates or books, I left behind her heavy cedar chest my dad lovingly and skillfully restored with slate blue paint and pewter hardwire; for as long as I can remember, this chest sat facing the foot of her bed in a perfectly sized built in "cove," protecting her treasured cashmere and other woolen or silk sweaters and accessories both of which moths love to eat, unless locked safely in a cedar chest.
