Reuben Sandwich (GF bread, no Swiss) Potato Salad
    Luca D.

Service and ambiance went well and the inside felt like being invited to someone else's house. I got a Reuben sandwich (with corn beef, sauerkraut and thousand island dressing) without Swiss cheese on GF bread, alongside potato salad. The flavors of the sandwich worked out well, but the bread I thought was a little soft. Regarding the potato salad, I usually prefer it warm and this was ice cold, but it was seasoned with paprika and chili powder, which gave it a good kick. Overall, this is the ideal diner-themed spot.

Best biscuits in the South! Everything is homemade, local and fresh. Friendly, homey atmosphere. Come early before the biscuits sell out!!!

Louise's Kitchen deserves every one of these five stars. The food was outstanding, starting with the Big Boy Burrito. It was absolutely amazing, packed with flavor, and clearly made with care. This is the kind of meal you think about later in the day and wish you had another one waiting. The service was just as great. Everyone was friendly and thoughtful, and they even offered to bring water out for my dog, which was a really nice and unexpected touch. When we were finished, they also offered a to-go coffee, which says a lot about how much they care about their customers. Great food, genuinely kind service, and little details that make a big difference. We'll definitely be back.

Best Biscuits and Gravy with poached egg in America

This is my first review I have posted before leaving the premises where I had a meal. I am in Asheville NC supporting the community after the devastation caused by Helene. I had the BEST biscuits & gravy I have ever had. Due to the lack of clean water they use disposable dishware/utensils but that, doesn't reduce the quality, freshness and taste of the dish. The biscuits are perfect and the gravy''s consistency, and protein ingredients are flavorful and delicious I compliment the kitchen staff The wait staff is friendly and deliver excellent service.

My hubby and I stopped here for brunch on our way down the mountain and I cannot rave enough. The food was delicious and came out fast even though they were full. The staff were lovely and attentive. We didn't have the kids with us but I will not hesitate to bring them next time. Seating inside is a little limited but I know they'd make it work. The ambiance was great. Very home cooking esque and cozy. Definitely give Louise's Kitchen a try and don't forget to try the vanilla bean syrup... Trust me.

Decided to try a new place. My daughter and I love Black Mountain so we decided to drive up early for breakfast. We chose Louise's kitchen. My daughter order the grit pancakes, delicious. I ordered a veggie bagel with egg, and we shared a fresh made cinnamon roll. The food was absolutely delicious. I forgot pictures of our food because we just dug in so quickly and gobbled everything up. I apologize. Next time there will be pictures. The coffee (nice and strong, yummy )and the service were great. The house is absolutely lovely. I love the ambience and sitting in what was once someone's home really adorable. Please don't skip one of their homemade cinnamon rolls. It was worth the drive to Black Mountain alone.

A very unique experience. You order as you go into the restaurant. As you obtain your seat, someone takes your drink order. The food was five star, the big boy burrito and the grit cake were amazing. When we arrived Saturday morning around 9:30, there was a line of about 20 people which was intimidating but it moved fast enough, especially understanding that they take your order as you enter. A must visit restaurant.

A breakfast spot walking distance from your hotel is always a bonus. But when it's a gem like this place, that's a blessing. Cool old house turned into a restaurant. Their outdoor seating is on the wrap around porch. Perfection. We sat on the porch and enjoyed coffee, juice, fresh fruit, perfectly cooked eggs, biscuits with gravy and a magical waffle. It may seem silly but to order a side of fruit and get actual fruit instead of a bowl of melon was amazing. Thankful for small businesses like this!!

Mac's tag line is "best dang burgers in town!" I've only eaten one burger since arriving in Black Mountain but I can say it's the best burger I've eaten in all of Charlotte and I've eaten many. My Bride's burger was served on a substantial fresh bun with no seeds or foo foo brioche with crips veggies. She ate every bite! Hand cut fries were a generously served sufficient for two to share. It is simply decorated on the inside and outside of the space. They have an upstairs and downstairs outdoor seating area. They also have indoor seating upstairs and downstairs. It looked like they have a little grab and go bakery / coffee spot inside. Service: The service was great. All the people we met were so friendly and helpful. The place was very clean and well maintained. Food: We were blown away by the food. I was amazed by what we ordered. My husband had their 'Monte Cristo' sandwich and LOVED it. He said it was the best sandwich he's ever had. I had their 'Catfish & Grits' which were delicious. It was packed with so much flavor. I loved the pickled onions that came on top of the dish. The catfish and grits dish hit all the tasting notes. It was sweet, savory, and a little sour with the pickled onions. I LOVED it. We will definitely be back during our trip in North Carolina. We recently popped in yesterday after securing a reservation via Resy to celebrate our anniversary. We were seated at our table with a thoughtful handwritten card thanking us for celebrating with them! Our waitress was fantastic, and they even provided us with complimentary bubbly half pours to commemorate the milestone. Between the two of us, we split the cheeseboard, Brussels sprouts (which are so unique, and one of our favs!), and the poutine. The cheeseboard really is a nice way to kick off the meal, and highly recommend it--so many goodies to choose from. I love how Resy also allows you to specify where in the restaurant you'd like to sit depending on availability--we went with the high top nook spot, which is really special/cozy for two people. Parking is a breeze--even if their lot is full, the post office lot/tyson lot is just a short walk (and it's still not paid parking anywhere downtown).

We were only inside for a short period of time, but this was a really cute place with comfy seating and a calm, quiet vibe. Staff were friendly and efficient. We arrived at around 7:15 am and were greeted by two regulars hanging out front with their dogs, which meant that Mrs. K. got her morning dog fix before we even made it inside. That set a great tone for a good day. The welcome inside was warm in the small town way that feels genuine instead of forced, just easy smiles and a quick hello as I ordered. It was rather quiet when we arrived but the folks seemed to start pouring in as we sipped our coffees. My cortado was excellent even if it was in a paper cup. Mrs. K. was happy with her latte which is the proper test. We lingered a bit, enjoying the quiet and watching Black Mountain wake up around us before getting back on the road.
