I LOVE this place! It was me and my girlfriend's first time in Asheville and we were looking for a good place for Sunday brunch and our airbnb host recommended this spot. The "home town" theme is just amazing. They transformed an old beautiful family home into a restaurant but kept the "home feel" from the real coffee mugs, to local grown cow for the sausage and milk to the spaghetti noodles used as coffee stirrers and not to mention the food was amazing! I was in Black Mountain, NC to pick up my son from summer camp and I was interested in finding a local place to have breakfast. I wasn't looking forward to the Huddle House located just off of the exit. One search on Yelp and I knew I had found my place at Louise's Kitchen. Located just off of the I-40 exit a few blocks and Louise's Kitchen is located in an old house with a charming wrap-around porch. As I was waiting on my friend to meet me, a lady who worked there brought me something to drink while I waited to order. I ordered the gravy and buscuits and eggs. Both were great. The gravy was sausage gravy and was very tasty, not the white tasteless flour gravy one often gets. Fresh tomatoes topped off the perfect breakfast. Location= Perfect, Food= Awesome, Service= Couldn't be better, Price= $8 breakfast, need I say more. I will definitely return and recommend to others. read more

Really neat place. A house converted to a restaurant. You order and then choose a table. They give you a playing card for your table number. Good food. My daughter had the blueberry waffle, which looked amazing. My other daughter, wife, and I had grilled cheese sandwiches. Everything was good. Great atmosphere. Very glad we stopped. read more

I had a really good breakfast burrito here the other day. It's a cool setting (an old, hundred year old house), although really cramped. The coffee was meh. I tend to think if you want to do breakfast we'll, you better make a superior cup of joe, but my wife thinks that's just the coffee snob in me. ‍ Everything else was delightful. read more

Spent 60 dollars on food that wasn't that good, the grits were bland with no flavor, and most of the sodas you order come in a can, you can't even get a refill on the sodas. I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone honestly. read more

I had sides of egg, potatoes and sourdough toast with Coffee. It was a little bland so I asked for some salsa and they offered their fresh pico de gallo, that made my breakfast worth eating, it was yum. The housemade jam (think it was) they put on the table was delicious and the house coffee was pretty good too. My family had the French toast (which they really liked) and the classic breakfast with the sausage (sausage not so good they thought) but everything else was pretty good. That veggie breakfast quesadilla was DELISH. Everyone liked their food though, and the rest of our party had the pork quesadillas and the breakfast burritos. The red tortilla really kicks things up! Louise's is one of my absolute favorite places ever, but DEFINITELY my favorite place in Black Mountain. I have been coming here for years, mostly during summers when I was working at a nearby camp. Their breakfast food is so good that I sometimes even order two things - and they are not small servings. The Big Boy Burrito will stuff you to the core but weirdly you still want more, just because the food is THAT good. My personal favorite is the Silver Dollar Pancakes, to this day I have not found pancakes that are better than Louise's, and you have to eat them with the vanilla bean syrup. You just have to. Cheesy scrambled eggs are a must get, as well. Basically, anything you get will exceed any expectations you had. The environment is cozy and warm, with great service, friendly staff, and cute tables. It truly captures the overall energy of Black Mountain. Could not recommend this place more. read more

I have eaten at Louise's Kitchen twice and should say that I do enjoy their food and the atmosphere of the place. However, the menu is extremely limited (if you're a waffle person they only have blueberry waffle and no plain option), and quite overpriced. The service was slow even though the food was simple. I waited nearly 30 minutes for simple biscuits and gravy. Once again, it was a perfectly fine dish and the portion was just right-but wasn't quite worth the wait and price. Overall, the food they do offer is pleasant, hearty, and homemade, but also overpriced with slow service. If a nice long talk over breakfast at a comfortable setting is what you're looking for though, then I would recommend it. read more

Came here because it was one of the few places in town open on a Monday morning when we were heading out of town, and we felt lucky to have stumbled upon it! Great vibe and delicious breakfast (both had the grits cakes with egg, but wished we had a couple more stomachs to try other items on the menu.) We got in there 30 minutes before they closed and I'm so glad we did. You order at the counter in the middle of this lovely house and try not to be overwhelmed at the sheer volume of menu before you. Between the 5 of us, we had a good deal of variety at the table. If we get the chance to go back before we leave town, I'm getting the Big Boy Burrito. My husband had it this morning and it was delicious. My biscuits and gravy were very good and the waffles and pancakes between my boys were scrumptious. Everyone working here was really nice, plus you can tell they work great together. A place like this is what I've been craving this whole vacation! The sausage is really unique with the perfect amount of salt and spice and my kids loved their bacon. We will definitely return if we are ever back in town! We went on a food tour in Black Mountain on June 5, 2017 and this was my favorite stop. Although we didn't have a full meal here, they served us a grit cake with some fresh lemonade. OMG!! The grit cake was the best thing I've ever tasted. It had grits (of course), black beans, and corn and was garnished with a Sriracha sour cream that added the perfect amount of kick to compliment the grit cake! I would highly recommend this dish. This place was highly recommend by the locals. The staff here are totally amazing & I truly loved the old house it's located in! I enjoyed the patio early this morning. Unfortunately, I ordered the French toast and bacon and wasn't impressed with either. The syrup was delicious but the bacon was sub-par and the worst I've had while down here. The French toast was unique and thick as well as flavorful but nothing too special. I'd like to give this place another shot as I've only heard fantastic things about it! Awesome place to get breakfast. While in the area we ran across this wonderful spot. It is a very charming old home converted into a restaurant. They offer seating inside and out. You enter the front door and make your way to the back of the house where you place your order and pay. Then find you a seat and enjoy the atmosphere while you wait a short time for your meal to arrive. The food was simply amazing. There were 4 of us and everyone had something different and we were all very pleased. The wait staff constantly checked on us and we enjoyed our visit very much. I highly recommend Louise's if you are anywhere close. read more
