The nail tech who did my pedicure pulled off a minor miracle. I had 2 big toenails fall off due to toe trauma. She glued on nail extensions to make the toes match! You can't tell the difference! The pedi was high quality, she was very nice and the place looked extremely clean and bright. I was walk in and after picking out my color, she was waiting on me at the chair waiting to get started. Under new management now and it's AWFUL. I've been loyal to this salon since the weekend they opened but I will not be back. I got a pedicure + gel polish yesterday that was not good and took over an hour, which was annoying but fine. I left and all the polish was peeling/lifting after 15 minutes and what was left was sticky and gooey. I went back and the new owner/manager (not who did my initial service) "fixed" the polish. First, she tried to seat me in a chair that was visibly very dirty with literal mulch and dirt from outside in the tub part. Then when she was working on my polish (in a clean chair, per my request), she was on her phone the entire time texting. She went back and forth from my foot to her phone with the tool she was using on me still in her hand, and had to literally blow the dust from my polish off of her phone. However, she eventually repolished my toes and apologized and sent me on my way. Today when I woke up, my polish was lifted, peeling, and what was exposed was wet and gooey and had gotten all over my sheets. When I went back the manager saw me again and removed my polish very aggressively, and cut my skin around my toes in several places in the process. After all this, I was only offered a partial refund (not even half of what I had spent). I had to speak up for myself in front of the crowded salon and ask for a full refund so that I could go somewhere else another day to fix my pedicure. This is not Nail Boutique quality. The new management is awful and rude, and after three visits, I'm leaving with no polish, and my feet look worse than they did before my first one. I'm a stay-at-home-mom and pedicures are a luxury that I don't get very often, so this experience is incredibly disappointing to me. read more

My usual spot for a pedicure had a long wait so I hopped on Yelp to see where I could get a pedicure nearby. I chose this place because most of the reviews said they were good and most importantly, clean. When I entered, I was greeted and asked what service I wanted. I told them a gel pedicure. Now, I had already looked at their pedicure menu and I wanted one of the more expensive pedicures. I generally spend $60-$70 on my pedicures plus tip. However, the young lady performing my service never asked me which one I wanted. She just assumed I wanted the least expensive one. Also, other techs offered their customers water or wine. I wasn't offered either. My tech was kind of distracted with answering the phone and scheduling appointments. This was irritating because I get a pedicure once a month to relax, but that is difficult to do when your tech seems to be focused on everyone and everything but you. I can say that she gave a good massage. She also shaped and painted my nails nicely. She did not have any issue with me bringing my own gel polish and matte gel topcoat. Also, the place was very clean with cute decor. Overall, my pedicure looks good, but I was let down by the service. First impressions are important. I would probably only come back if my usual place was super busy again. read more

I am normally a patron of Genesis Nails in Homewood, but when the person I had asked for (Jimmy is GREAT) was at their second location (Nail Boutique) instead of Homewood, I decided to make the trek over to Hoover! Upon first walking-in, the place is gorgeous! So fresh and so clean!! And they were following very good safety and cleaning protocols for COVID-19. Another check in my book! I had to keep my mask on during the entire visit (manicure and pedicure), but my mask kept popping off... it was my first time going out and it wasn't working for me. They were so nice to give me a mask to use so I could focus on enjoying the services instead of worrying about my mask falling off. Really appreciate that! Prices are very reasonable and they have a rewards card for repeat customers so make sure you get one and get it signed after every visit! I would visit this location again! read more

When I walked in the staff was friendly and welcoming asking what services I wanted and if I would like something to drink. After I picked my color I was seen right away for a relaxing pedicure and gel manicure. Decided to try this new salon in the Trace Crossings shopping center. It's along the new strip that just opened behind Culvers. Salon is very nice and of course everything is all shiny and new. I got a pedicure here. The salon chairs are very nice and the massage feature worked really well. I was offered a beverage and I did enjoy some wine. So don't judge! Lol I enjoyed my pedicure very much. They did a very good foot and leg massage. I got a French pedicure and I appreciated that she asked if the thickness of the white part was ok. Sometimes they make it way too thick and don't bother asking if you like it. Anywho, overall a really good pedicure. Decided to try this place for the first time. I got there 10 minutes after they opened and there was only one other customer there. I only got a pedicure. I asked the man doing my toes to please get an ingrown toenail out as I am leaving for a month long trip and don't want to be in pain. (this is really the only reason I get pedicures.) He didn't speak any English and did a terrible job getting them out and you could clearly tell he didn't know what he was doing. I wish he had just told me he didn't know how to do it and I would have happily gone elsewhere. I also didn't like that every person that came in, the man who looked like a manager told everyone that it would be hours before they could get to them. I understand they were low staffed, but hours? There was only me and one other woman in there and it was 20 minutes after they opened. He wasn't rude but definitely wasn't accommodating. The woman who came in right after me had to wait almost 40 minutes to start a pedicure and there was only 2 customers in there. The facility was nice and clean but I recommend everyone going to Nail Image in Hoover instead. Much more accommodating and very knowledgeable workers. read more

I walked in about an hour before they closed, and, as someone who works in the service industry, I know how frustrating that can be when you're trying to start cleaning up so you can go home after a long shift, but the staff was super welcoming and didn't seem frustrated or annoyed at all. I can't remember the nail tech I had's name, but I requested a blood splatter nail art design for Halloween, and she knocked it out of the park! Multiple members of staff worked to try and figure out the best way to do the design, and they all took their time making sure I got exactly what I wanted. I didn't end up leaving until 45 mins after they closed, which I felt bad about, but they assured me it was no problem at all, and the whole set plus art only cost $75! The nails also didn't start lifting even once, and I had them on for over a month. Very clean, relaxing environment. Went in today to ENJOY a relaxing day for a pedi and mani. Started off perfect. Courteous staff, clean and good tunes to relax by. However, after about 25 minutes into my relaxation another customer came in and was constantly using their phone for the rest of the time....... IF I wanted to hear constant conversation on others using their cell phone, I could stay at home.
