I was new to sugaring 6+ months ago... I have been an avid 'traditional' waxer for a good 15 months before making the shift to sugaring. Honestly, I was nervous. I didn't know what sugaring was... but it was new. OMG. Y'all. While the end result is the same (smooth hair-free skin) the 'how' is different. Mostly painless. No irritation. Quick. ROOM TEMP SUGAR - no more 'burning' wax. For the last 2 appointments, I've had Reema. And I love her. For all of the right reasons - she engages in chit-chat and let's me babble (it's how I pass time and forget what we're actually doing). She's super fast but also expertly thorough. She runs on time and even early if you're there before your appointment start. I've had other great sugarista's too... but Reema is now my girl. My only negatives are (1) turnover seems high which means that my sugarista may change without notice and (2) it's REALLY pink. Like really. They claim to provide mens services, but the pink would be a huge turn-off if I was looking for mens sugar services. read more

D I wish I could give 0 stars for the lying staff member I unfortunately had to deal with today. Previously, I received services here starting last year in January and had the pleasure of receiving these services from Lucy (no longer with company) , Kaylan-sp, and Shelby. Last month, when booking for this month, no familiar name was available so I took a chance and booked with staff member provided. For circumstances beyond my control, I was unable to make the appointment and call beforehand to reschedule/cancel and about 20 mins or so after the scheduled appointment I get a call and notice of charge for FULL services unrendered. The person that answered the phone was the scheduled staff member and she kept insisting that she sent me a notice about how full charges will incur to my cell phone on record. I told her that is not true as I'm on the phone shes referencing and the notice sent, said thanks for coming...nothing about a FULL charge. I told her this is not my first time patronizing the company and there has NEVER been a full charge for a missed appointment as you are charged partially. I was expecting a PARTIAL charge for my missed appointment not a FULL charge and as this staff member continued to LIE and be DISHONEST..and refuse to remove the full charge, I logged back in and screnshot what is stated on their website in regards to missed appointments and nothing states a full charge for FIRST or even SECOND missed appointment, only if you've missed THREE appointments which i have not and in that case it says you have to pay before you book..which doesnt apply to me as I have been booking and paying when services have been rendered. I highly detest a LIAR and truly despise those who lack customer service skills and those that have an apathethic attitude towards customers. You will not be getting FULL pay from me for services not provided. I WILL NOT be patronizing this place anymore. L.A. I booked online the process of booking online was really simple and quick, i loveeeee that j get to choose who i would like. I'm normally a wax girl but my normal place has been the pits lately so i decided to give them a try. You must be masked which i love, the decor is very pretty but hey I'm a pink lover everything was was very neat and clean and sanitized. Julie walked me through and asked questions because this was the first time getting sugared i must say why did i wait so long lol. Julie was GREAT. I had my first sugaring experience here and it was amazing!! Also, the salon is so cute! A friend treated me to the spa treatment because she had been going for a while. My Sugarista was kind, knowledgeable, and efficient. I felt so comfortable. She also prepped me for my after care and told me what I needed to do to maintain my Brazilian treatment. I loved the entire vibe of this place. From the receptionist to my sugarist Jailyn, everything was perfect. It was my first time getting any type of hair removal done. I got a Brazilian and my underarms done. Yes it hurts lol, but it's tolerable. I've never had waxing done so I can't compare but I did experience a little pain. However, my sugarist made it so comfortable for me. She talked me through, asked me questions to take my mind off of it and was gentle. She told me the differences between waxing and sugaring and she's so knowledgeable. Loved coming here! Laughter...imagine that haha...She does an amazing job keeping you comfortable and is so fast you don't have time to think ab the pain. This is a very unprofessional place.I schedule an appointment 3 times and they called me the day of telling me I have to reschedule.I'm honestly tired of giving this place the benefit of the doubt.I have been waiting to get serviced for a while and I was called and told the girl who was suppose to service me is no longer with them. This is ridiculous they can't keep anybody at there facility.The person I was referred to had a lot of good reviews and I was also referred to her by a friend .It seems as if they can't keep all the good workers . Honestly this is unacceptable.I would book somewhere else before coming here . Because they will call and reschedule your appointment so it's no need to book here.The place is a cute place but it's not worth being serviced there . read more

I have booked online with this location 3 times and all 3 times I've received a call on the day of my appointments telling me I need to be rescheduled. Today I found out 3 hours before my appointment that my appointment time would need to be changed. Either a girl there calls out of work, or needs to leave early, today it was that my waxer would no longer be working there. They are not dependable at all. They have a cancellation and rescheduling policy for their clients and charge them for late appointment changes, but do not hold themselves to the same policy. There is respect for your time. Do not come here, make an appointment elsewhere. read more

My first appointment with Sugaring NYC was in March. I checked in and was asked to sit in the car due to a small lobby (covid) and someone already sitting in the lobby. Over 30 minutes later I called to ask what was going on because I had to go back into work. They said that the previous appointment had ran over. I was definitely annoyed at the lack of the communication, but Jules was great and very kind and apologetic. I chalked it up to poor communication with the receptionist. I made a second appointment that was supposed to be yesterday. They call earlier in the day and asked if I would like to come in earlier because they had a cancellation. The appointment was changed to 1:30 pm. I walk in and the person who was going to do the waxing was ready to take me back. The receptionist stopped her and explained the lights had just flickered (but were still on and fine at that moment) and said they would be closing. She wanted to reschedule me, but I declined. I look on Facebook today, and see that they posted something around 2 pm that they would be closing at 1 pm. My appointment was at 1:30 pm. So, if they knew they should've given a call before. Definitely some poor communication going on with the receptionist. I will say the ladies doing the waxing were very sweet. The studio is also very clean. I'm a business owner and a mother so having an efficient and timely appointment is a must. read more
