This was the worst "manicure" I've ever had, they didn't dry the coats of gel properly because my black nails all started peeling within 2 hours of the service, they rushed my daughter's blue nails so much that there was paint all over her fingers, the lady was annoyed when I asked her to remove the excess polish. The gentleman who did my nails put lotion on one hand, massaged it for maybe 30 seconds and the didn't even massage the second one at all and just said he was done. They said they would fix the nails if we went back but it's not even worth it, I will just be going back to a different salon. The demeanor of the staff was just bothered and annoyed in general, they were not friendly at all. Terrible customer service. read more

I have been to 2 other salons in Sarasota (Capitol Nails & Show Nails) that were overpriced and TERRIBLE! I was giving up hope and then I called Lotus Nails! They were able to get me in right away! My technician's name was Lisa and she was not only so sweet, but she didn't overcharge me, was quick, professional and gave me EXACTLY what I wanted! They're easy to do just about anything with (which is a struggle with some artificial nails). and look sooooo cute! For a full set of pink & whites, the designs and an eyebrow wax she only charged me $65! If giving 5 stars was an option, I WOULD! + She "nailed" it and "sleighed" this Christmas set! read more

I went there for a full facial wax. brows, lips, chin and cheeks. I have had this done many, many times before with no problems. BE WARNED: when she was done, there was a small red spot on my cheek. she attributed that to my "thin skin". by the end of the day, both of my cheeks were bright red, as if I had been burned. The next morning, rather than fading as I had hoped, they were even redder. I am guessing that the wax was too hot and burned me! STAY AWAY!!!! read more

This is a follow up to the review I wrote an hour ago, I went to the lotus salon to see what their response is. I spoke to Terry, who very defiantly said it was MY fault. She said she had warned me that my skin is thin and that I still wanted it done. I didn't know that she took that as permission to leave burn marks on my cheeks. She took no accountability. When I asked if the owner or manager was there, she said no. That tells you something. I asked for my $54 back and she refused. I guess the workers get to make their own decisions. What she should have done was apologized-she never denied that she burned me. And then, since the customer is "always right", she should have graciously offered me the refund. To attack ME is not a way to drum up business. Anyone knows that. Perhaps if management had been there, it would have been handled differently-correctly. RUN, DO MOT WALK, from this salon! read more

Not great, not terrible. Techs are not very friendly. I got manicure, which didn't last even 4 days. What really turned me off though is the employees sitting in the waiting area chairs with their bare feet up in the chairs while also listening to videos on their phone quite loudly. If I could rate this negative stars I would. I have being doing my eyebrows for years and nothing like this has every happened. I have waxed at this specific location a couple times before. Words can not describe how upset I am. When the lady who was doing my eyebrows first put the wax on my face I told her that it was to hot and it hurt but she told me "If it's not hot it won't work". So I trusted her and that was honestly a mistake. She continued to wax and make jokes about how I was weak because it hurt me and it wasn't until I got in my car and looked in the mirror and saw what she did. Please no one go to place because they clearly don't know how to do their jobs. My face now has several burns and I don't even know how I'm going to walk around in public. read more

Owner Kelly very unfriendly and does not listen to suggestion when doing nails. Kelly also yells at staff across salon when customers arrive. Bathroom is old, smelly and broken down. My experience with this salon was not good from the first interaction and phone call to even make the appointment. No one was very friendly and when I sat down in the massage chair for a pedicure, the massage therapist did not even say hello. He also did not offer a complimentary drink, which the website and front advertised that they do. The arm of the chair was very dirty and he noticed and just kind of brushed it away with his hand, instead of getting a towel to wipe it properly. The towel that was used on the chair was dirty as well. The young guy that was doing the pedicure was in a rush and distracted the entire time. His phone was ringing multiple times during and he kept looking at it and touched his phone multiple times. It was not relaxing. He was rough and actually cut my cuticle in two different places. It was bleeding and he did not seem to even care. At the end of the pedicure, he said I can just sit for 5 minutes until they dry, did not even offer to have me sit under the dryer. I've been to this salon before and had a great experience but not sure if it is because they are under new management. Will probably not return. read more

When she went to use the gift certificate 6 months after later , the establishment said the certificate expired 3 months after issuance. Florida law prohibits gift certificates from expiring within 5 years. They were rude and nasty to my partner. We will be reporting them to the FTC. I am visiting Sarasota for a few hours and needed to kill some time so I decided to stop by for a pedicure. I went on a Wednesday around 2pm and the place was completely empty so I was super happy I didn't have to wait. The salon is very clean and simple. I got the Express pedicure for $25. I kind of felt like the entire process was rushed as if there were people waiting after me, but I guess it's because I got the Express pedicure. My favorite is Anna. Lotus is next to publics on 41. Convenient and though busy, the manager always makes room for walk-ins. Gel or shellac polish is often to thick, or uneven in other salons. Mani / pedi s are consistently professional. And Anna is a perfectionist! read more

I'm a long time Sarasota resident, and I've been going to high-end salons for years to have my (horrifically thin!) nails done with acrylic at very high prices. I hesitate to go to new salons, because my nails are so bad that I can't ever risk sub-standard materials. In a pinch for time, I took a chance on Lotus Nails, next to the Publix on 41 and 10th. I'll be going here from now on! The shop is extremely clean and well run. The technician handled my nails -- which included two broken far below the quick and one split in several places -- very gently and competently. In only 35 minutes, I had perfect repairs, fill on all nails, and a shellac varnish that looks beautiful. The technician had some good advice about nail length and shape to keep disaster at bay from now on. And it was half of what I'm used to paying. Definitely a good option! read more

Sadly there is no option for 0 stars. I've never had such a more horrible experience. My husband and I came in for the first time after reading these rave reviews... My husband got the "express mani/pedi" OBVIOUSLY NO POLISH OF ANY SORT... He was literally done in 25 minutes for both, which is fine bc it's a male mani/pedi, which is nothing compared to a female but they CHARGED HIM $35! No time wasted having to polish and clean and they still charged him exactly what they charged me! Then my mani/pedi... During the pedi, I noticed he hadn't cut my cuticles... I have a lot of cuticles, unfortunately, which then turn hard and painful. The nail tech told me he did cut and I was forced to take his word for it bc I wasn't exactly watching him, so I assumed maybe I missed it. I made sure to have an eagle eye during my mani. I literally saw the tech look at the cuticle cutter, then my nails and cut no cuticles. I had hang nails left and right and he was planning to do nothing about them. At that point, I stopped him and told him he had to cut my cuticles. He started speaking his language and I simply apologized (don't know why bc I hadn't done anything wrong) but explained that they hurt and I needed them cut! During this time, two sweet elderly women, who seemed like regulars and were nothing but sweet to everyone, especially the techs, were mocked by the employees. One of the ladies kept saying my hands don't match my feet... They were blowing her off and ignoring her like she was crazy! When someone finally paid attention to her, they realized she was absolutely correct. Turns out, I had the same issue! When I look at my hands as he was polishing them, I noticed my hands were completely different from my feet. He starts to tell me I'm wrong and I asked him how he couldn't see the difference. The techs began to gather around and speak in their language. I had 4 ppl huddled around me screaming Cantonese or whatever language they were speaking. I asked them to please speak English bc I feel as if they are speaking about me... They eventually fixed the polish but not without continuing to blabber in their language! Pls take head! Go elsewhere for pedicures. They don't deliver what the advertise. Paid more for lots of extras including 15 extra minutes of leg massage. Entire experience lasted 27 minutes- 2 minutes of hot stone on each leg was a joke. Add a pedicurist sniffling and rubbing his nose and racing through the entire pedicure and it adds up to a really poor experience. They have good reviews for nails - just wish I had read the ones regarding pedicures. read more

We travel quite a bit and I am always on the look out for a convenient salon for a pedicure. I found one today! I had some shopping to do at Publix on Tamiami Trail and stumbled upon Lotus. Very clean , very polite staff, a family run business. I had the " deluxe" pedicure which was wonderful. Very soothing, sugar scrub and a mask for hydration and a foot/ leg massage for $35.00. Standard pedicures are the usual $25.00. I am home now , my feet feel great and I think I will book an appointment for my husband who is a golfer and always appreciates a foot massage. My technician was Randy. Very gentle but also very thorough . Very soft spoken and polite.as were the rest of the staff there. read more

Great place! In town on vacation, came here based on yelp and distance. Staff was very attentive. Sometimes when you're an out of towner, service can be dismal since you won't be back.
