Where do I start, the lady was nice but the service practices were questionable and in my opinion extremely unprofessional. She used no gloves during my Brazilian wax, and when she was done she wiped my front and back with her bare hand! I don't know if she has clients back to back, but I never saw her wash her hands, and the bathroom is downstairs and I never saw her come from it or go to it after me. She claimed to use a pine wax that would take only the hair and protect the skin, but it was a lie. My skin was raw for 3 days, and one week later the hair came back! After just moving back to Sarasota, I was in desperate need of finding a good Brazilian wax, and after doing some Yelp searching as I normally do, I came across Linda at Urban Oasis. Her reviews were all extremely positive, so I decided to give her a try! I called and left a voicemail for her, but followed up with a text as she says doing so will elicit a quicker response! She answered promptly and fit me in for the day I asked for. Her private space is very clean and nicely decorated, and is one of many other private services within the same building (nail technicians, hair salons, etc). It is on the second floor. Linda made me feel extremely comfortable, as I shared with her that I had not had this type of wax since before my son was born (8+ months.) It was all very quick but very proficient, and we chatted the entire time which took my mind off of things! The Brazilian is $55, which is a fair price for the work that she does. I came to Linda for my first ever Brazilian, and she exceeded my expectations. Not once did I feel uncomfortable or awkward, and the conversation just flowed naturally the entire time. I was extremely worried going into it, but Linda has over 30 years of experience, and I felt only minimum pain. I have been searching for 4 years for the perfect Brazilian since moving to Florida. I drive everywhere and wasn't impressed, I was about to give up when I came across Urban Oasis online, I have no clue how I Never came across it during my online searches and it is just 10 minutes from my house! I attempted to call for my appointment and had gotten the answering machine that states for quicker response to text. Linda responsed within 5 minutes confirming a last minute appointment that I had hoped to schedule, right there that get two thumbs up. The place is in a cozy little shack off of downtown. I have had my fair share of horrible waxes including one that left me raw and bloody and jumping off the table as the woman made comments about me (yes I'm Italian and Portuguese and very proud of my heritage) anyways I digress, Linda was so so so nice, I was self conscious after that last go 'round with my previous wax and she just made me feel so much more comfortable and she immediately Gained my trust. Her prep was fantastic, clean. She used a soft wax and let me tell you, I barely felt a thing. Not only was it painless but it was quick and it lasted! Update: I have stopped going to her for a few years now. I found out that I had severe case of in grown as the hair was being broken off instead of pulled (no pain when the hair breaks). I will still recommend Linda tho. Linda is awesome. I went to her only because I had read the two reviews on Yelp. I was very impressed as to how at ease she put me (my first wax) and seriously this stuff is supposed to hurt right??? wrong!. A Brazilian by Linda may be one of the least painful waxes one ever experiences. However, I doubt I'd be returning to her while again in town because I question the cleanliness of her waxing practice for 3 reasons: 1) She doesn't wear gloves. She does thoroughly wash her hands in front of you but I prefer strangers to wear gloves especially for a Brazilian. 2) She double dips. She had stated that she uses a fresh pot of wax for each client but I didn't see her throw out "my" pot after our appointment so I'm unsure of her statement's validity. 3) Her wax wasn't thorough - a few strands were left un-waxed. I so wish my appointment with her went better as her Brazilian was fairly painless but I'm particular about cleanliness and I just wasn't comfortable/comforted by her practice. read more

I am HAIRY. Imagine a woman covered in a bear, two furry dogs, three men who look like they are wearing sweaters at the beach, and that is like one of my legs. I've been waxed a million times on my bikini line, I could NEVER take the pain to have more done. I was on Linda's table for over an hour and a half today. FULL Brazilian, full leg, and some places that we just don't talk about, and my eyebrows. And honestly, sans a moment or two, it was PAINLESS! PAIN-FREE! I was shocked! I am shocked- and more shocked! Allow me to comment on a few other reviews. Urban Oasis is VERY clean. The pine resin wax product that Linda uses is very high end. Linda was amazingly fast and very detailed. She made me feel completely comfortable and relaxed. To address Patricia L's comment of Linda not wearing gloves; Honey. Princess, wax is sticky- how can a professional, no! An Artist wax with gloves on? To receive a treatment this specific and tactile, one can not wear gloves and work competently. Linda Vincent is amazing!! I had my first brazillian wax done by her and considering how painful I've heard it can be (especially your first time) Linda made the process very quick and painless! I was in and out in roughly 20 mins! She made a point to talk to me throughout the waxing to get my mind off of what she was doing and in no time at all, she was done! Linda was professional, very clean/hygenic, friendly, personable, knowledgable and informative. Even though I was in a little pain after the wax, the discomfort only lasted a day and a half which is pretty much what Linda quoted me. She was upfront about everything and fairly priced for the excellent service she offers. I'll definitely go back again and highly recommend her to both veterans of the brazillian wax and new comers. The only con: Make sure you park in the little driveway next to the optical shop! I made the mistake of parking in a spot reserved for the optical shop (easily confused because Linda's cottage is located right behind it) and the owner of the shop bursted in as I was finishing paying for my wax and was pretty rude about me parking there. It was a simple mistake and she could see that I was getting ready to walk out but yet continued to belabor the point as if I had done it on purpose. She made me so nervous that I even dropped my receipt lol! Literally the best wax ever!!! Linda is amazing. I have tried a couple places around Sarasota and would always got such bad irritation after. I assumed I just had very sensitive skin and dealt with it, I tried everything under the sun to make it go away....that is until I stumbled across Linda! I recently went for a Brazilian with Linda and she was very nice, worked me into her schedule since it was last minute and her location was great. However it has been just a few days and already I can see my hair growing in and it is not pretty! The waxing took a total of 11 minutes in a dark room so I couldn't really see the results then and there. I have had waxes done previously and have been able to keep smooth hairless skin down there for almost 2 weeks. It also felt very impersonal to be waxed within 11 minutes, I was in and out no doubt a good thing for a busy person but it was almost like she rushed it just to get my money and be done, I was just another dollar. read more

I was really debating on writing a review because I hate writing bad ones but I really feel need to write this one. I had gone to Linda for a brazilian because of the reviews I seen but however my experience was nothing like what I read. I didn't feel that comfortable with her for she pretty much rushed everything. I understand she has a very high amount of clients but I feel she is more about quantity verses quality. She didnt take much time with me she got me in and out in 15 min. She wasn't gentle at all I understand who wants to drag out that process but I have gone to someone else where I used to live and she really tended to me and made sure I was ok and was in my full comforte zone. But linda didn't seem to care at all she just wanted to hurry and get me out! I left very sore and swollen the swelling lasted about 2-3 days but at the other place i had gone I had no swelling and the pain eased in a couple hours. And on top of that she missed quite a few strands of hair! And I also asked her if I could get in a pool when I got home she said sure no problem but that didn't seem right. She didn't give me any after care information or anything. So I went home and looked it up becaise it had been a few years since I had gotten my last one and of course it said I should not get in a pool within 24-48 hours after and a whole bunch of other information she did not give me! She just needs to worry a little more on quality and a little less on quantity. Will not be going back read more
