We found this place 3 years ago while staying in the area. We are here again, so stopped in. The food on this trip left a lot to be desired. The shrimp Lo Mein was drowning in watery sauce and not very good. The Chicken Broccoli was mediocre at best. The fried rice was loaded with pepper, which we found unusual. All of the food was served too hot to even try to eat. This place has really gone downhill over the past 3 years. read more

Keeping the same rating but updating my review for a few tips. 1) If you're a spice hound and need extra heat, specify the spice not the generic term "extra spicy". For example Singapore noodles ask for as for extra curry. Orange chicken ask for extra chili flakes. 2) Their apps are still so very limited and so unusual. If you select the crab puffs you are getting cream cheese fried. The egg roll is not a beef and cabbage mixture, it's more like a chicken and greens mixture. They taste good. Just not what you would expect. 3) The portions are HUGE. Lunch after dinner for sure. That's a nice bonus. Get anything with noodles and you will be eating lunch for days. read more

Pleasantly surprised. I ordered sweet & sour chicken and chicken lo mein. Both were delicious. The sweet & sour chicken had nice chunks of pineapple and bell pepper, and the lo mein wasn't greasy. An awesome find in AJ! We ordered take out - Sweet and Sour Shrimp with fried rice and Kung Pao Tofu with white rice, along with a spring roll app. The shrimp was perfectly fried, not greasy and not overly battered. The sauce sweetly sour with fresh crunchy pineapple, onions and green pepper. The sauce could have used more veggies but it complimented the shrimp nicely. The tofu was flavorful, fresh with crunchy veggies and just the right amount of texture in the tofu. Both rices were cooked well and tasted fresh. Spring rolls were tasty and crisp and didn't have that bitter aftertaste found at many Asian restaurants. Service was quick and friendly on the phone and order was ready within the promised time frame. Will be back to this Garden again soon. read more

I normally don't go to AJ but I had an appointment yest so My husband and I had to be in the area. After finishing the appointment, we wanted to have lunch. We hesitated to eat in AJ at first but we passed by Lotus Garden and then thought, Chinese food? Maybe? On their door, they had the "People love us on Yelp" sticker and I thought, OK that's a good sign! So I went ahead and checked their rating on Yelp & I was pleased to see it was a 4.5 overall. So we went in. The first thing that caught my attention was how clean the place was! The tables were spotless, the furniture looked new and the whole place looked very good. We were asked if we were there for take out or dine in so we said dine in. We were offered to pick any table we wanted & the waitress immediately came to ask us about our drinks and if we would like to order from the lunch menu and we said sure, if it's still on! It was 3:25pm and their lunch period ends at 3:30pm but they still offered that to us which we thought that was nice! So for the lunch order, you can pick any main dish on the lunch menu with either white rice, brown rice or fried rice. It comes with a spring roll, a choice of either egg drop soup or hot and sour. While we looked at the menu, we were served wonton chips with sweet & sour dipping sauce. For our meals, my husband chose beef Lo Mein with fried rice and egg drop soup and I picked the sweet & sour chicken with the hot and sour soup and brown rice. About 2 min later our soups were out. I was a bit worried my soup might be too spicy but it was just the right amount of spice for me, I was very pleased. As soon as we were done with our soups, the main dishes were out. The food looked fresh and tasted delicious. The waitress came by after a little while to ask us how the food was and if we needed any thing. Towards the end of our meal also, the chef himself came out to every occupied table and asked if the food was good and how we were doing which I thought was a cool thing to do. Overall, very satisfied with our meal there. We ended up getting a bill for around $12 which was great considering how wonderful our whole experience was. Good food, good service and great lunch prices. Definitely worth considering if you're in the area! read more

Placed to go order for 4 people and told 25 minutes. Got there in 20 minutes so could pick up as soon as ready. Dine in patrons came in after our expected pick up time of 25 minutes came and went. They were seated, ordered and were served their food before our order was ready. Delivery services picked up multiple to go orders as well. When asked why our order wasn't ready yet and were told priority is given to dine in and delivery service orders. From time placed, it was 49 minutes for our order to be ready. Horrible service. This one is a pearl in the shell, and their lunch specials at around $6.50 are the best deal in town! This is NOT a buffet, but order by menu. The flavor and quality of the food are exceptional. The service is great also. The only problem is that is has about 12-13 tables, and is getting really crowded. Their to-go counter is non stop all evening long...that outta tell you something! Right when you walk in you feel welcomed and ready to eat! The service is great, very hospitable and kind. They are very good at catering to our needs. It doesn't say much, because your options are limited and there are some real stinkers out here. You wouldn't know it based on reviews, but this area is snow bird country. They seem to like more bland foods. However, this place tastes great. Their deep fried options are actually crispy. This is rare out here. In addition, almost everything is good. Most places out this way have a couple of safe options and then the rest is a gamble. You don't have to worry about that here, they do all meats and vegetables well.
