This may be the best Chinese in Apache Junction, but in reality it definitely does not deserve 4.5 stars... The service itself was fine but the food was sub-par at best. Portion sizes are good for the price. It's the flavors that are off.. The "Crab Puff" has no crab, I'm aware it says cream cheese on the menu but you need to change the name if it doesn't have ANY crab in it at all. The Beef and Broccoli was very bland. The Chow Mein is dried noodles, not fresh fried noodles. Was super disappointed in that. Idk why restaurants serve Chow Mein like that, even Panda Express fries their noodles and tosses it with the vegg. Egg drop soup was alright, decent flavor, good amount of egg, too much corn though. The sweet and sour sauce has an odd flavor to it also, couldn't figure it out. I thought it was pretty rad that they start you off with wonton chips though! Ordered delivery ....orange chicken was soggy and overdressed ....ordered 2 drinks they came in small cups filled with ice very little drink 2 drinks gone ....crab puff was a ball of fried cream cheese no flavor...I have had better from here .... My wife and I have been trying local restaurants lately and came across Lotus Garden. Quick service and nice staff. We placed an order to-go and I tried the Orange Chicken and fried rice. Food tasted great, it says the Orange Chicken is spicy but I don't think it was spicy in my opinion. My wife enjoyed the egg rolls as I'm not much of an egg roll person. We've eaten here several times and since Covid began we have been able to pick up our food. I'm not a great fan of Chinese food, but this place is great! We went here years ago and I loved it. Haven't been back because it is a trek to get there. We finally decided to go again. The service and food were really good except our main dishes were not very hot (weird, I know ) so they got sent back to be heated up more. Also we agreed they needed a lot more sauce. This restaurant is probably one of the better Chinese restaurants in the area. There's not a lot of good selections in Apache Junction, my hometown, but this is one exception to the rule. Food is always fresh and hot at a reasonable price. A good go to for Chinese food. read more

I live in AJ and have been here numerous times. The food is better than most Chinese I've had in the Phoenix area and at a good price too. Nothing fancy, just all the fav's made hot and fresh. Staff is attentive and friendly. Can be busy when snowbirds come into town. Last night we put in a take-out order 20 minutes before they closed and they were happy to serve us. We had the Hot and Spicy Chicken, Mongolian Beef and Kung Pao Scallops. All very well prepared and generous portions. The Mongolian Beef also has some thin noodles with it which I really like a lot. The Kung Pao Scallops did not skimp on the scallops which were large and tender. I've previously had the Sesame Chicken, General Tso's Chicken and Lo Mien. Everything very good, especially the Lo Mein if you're a fan of noodle dishes. read more

For quite a few years now we have visited this restaurant and also have ordered carry out as well, and we have never had a problem with anything we have ordered. Every dish we have tried has been hot, fresh, very tasty and very generous portions and if you ask for another side of rice or wonton there is never an issue or upcharge forbit. The owners and staff have always been very friendly and a smile at all times, even during the summers when business can be slow and the winters when you have to wait for a table. We enjoyed take out on March 29th and even in all of uncertainty going on around us the had a smile and the food was excellent as usual, but it appears that there was not enough take out so they have decided to close for awhile. We look forward to them reopening up so we can get our "fix" again. One very important thing to remember is to NOT order delivery, as if you read the other reviews you will notice a major trend that any review with one or two stars has an issue and it was Doordash the delivered the order, it is best to order and pick it up yourself. read more

My sister took me for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised by the quick service and friendly staff! We sat down in a cute booth and were quickly greeted with wonton strips and sweet and sour sauce! My kind of place :) I ordered the Mongolian beef lunch special with fried rice and egg drop soup. The soup was delicious and the beef was hot and fresh and so tender. My sister had the general Tso chicken and hot and sour soup. I got a taste of it and it was crispy and tangy and delicious as well. With tip and iced tea it cost only $20 for a sit down lunch! Really good value and even had leftovers. Will definitely be coming back for another taste of something from the lunch menu. read more

FANTASTIC! Being burned out on tasteless Chinese food I had no intention of trying this place but I was in a time crunch. I slowly opened the door, hoping to go unnoticed incase I wanted to gracefully exit. I was immediately impressed with the clean, tasteful decor, not your standard wall of food posters. And the place was nearly full! I decided to stay. You can carry out or eat in, of course I carried out because I was in a rush. So, I placed my order with the courteous man at the register and waited. There was not a lot of room to wait for carry out orders, so I finally parked myself at one if the few open tables. I ordered House Spicy Chicken and brown rice. I wish there had been some veggies in it but no stars lost, it came exactly as described on the lunch menu, I just assumed it would be a bit lighter with veggies. Next time I will slow down and ask more questions. That being said, although it will not be my go to dish because of lighter taste preferences, it was DELICIOUS and perfectly cooked, including the brown rice. I would definitely recommend it! Go out of your way for this one. The pepper steak was amazing, served on a searing hot plate. The spicy chicken was so fabulous, I wish I had gotten an extra one to go. We were in a very large group, very small restaurant. All seats were filled. The staff did an amazing job of tending to all our needs, and every single person had fabulous food. I'll admit, I was a little nervous to do strip mall Chinese in AJ but I wanted Chinese, and the reviews were good, so we went for it. We will definitely go back. The egg foo yung was delicious, not greasy at all. My husband ordered the cashew almond chicken, the veggies in it were still crisp, the nuts were crunchy, and the sauce very good. We normally order spicy dishes when we get chinese, but tonight we were in the mood for mild. These dishes hit the spot with delicious savory sauces. Comfort food, I guess. I'll look forward to returning to try other favorites soon. Or maybe find out what the piled high plate of giant shrimp and veggies was we saw being delivered to a nearby table and try that! Really great Chinese food. The food is flavorful and full of really nice fresh veggies. Really tender beef, chicken and shrimp and some of the best Lo Mein I've had in quite some time. The service was a little slow, but the restaurant was packed the entire time we were there and was also handling a heavy pick-up/to go crowd as well. So it was understandable. I'm a little disappointed. I order take at this location because of the great Yelp reviews. I got pork fried rice & shrimp fried rice. Both lacked the sprouts that I look forward to. Also, the rice was very greasy. General T chicken was okay, not great but I will have to see if it's any better dining in. Noodles were good, beef & broccoli was again just okay. We've been looking for a good Chinese restaurant since moving to East Mesa and finally found one we were satisfied with. We've had some stinkers but Lotus Garden was definitely worth the drive. I tend to judge Chinese restaurants initially by their sesame chicken, and when I first got home and opened the takeout box I was disappointed that it looked like dry breaded chicken. Turns out much of the sauce had slipped to the bottom...a good stir and it was all recoated in a light sweet sauce that was excellent. My kids even had seconds! The Lo Mein with Chicken was also quite good, perhaps the best I've had. The sweet and sour pork came dry with sauce on the side, which I'm assuming was to keep it from getting soggy. Everyone had seconds on that too! The mongolian beef was our only disappointment. Not because it was bad, just because it wasn't what we were expected. It had a lot more kick than we expected, which I don't necessarily mind, but I just wasn't as crazy about it. All in all, it was worth the 15-20 minute drive and we will certainly be back! read more

Customer service sucks here and very slow. The egg rolls are obviously frozen and NOT home made. It's just a glob of mush inside. The soup was okay. All I really ate was the chicken. Which was probably frozen as well. If you're looking for authentic, don't come here! Plus they don't give the waiter the tips. They give it to the restaurant, not right in my opinion. read more

We all know, when it comes to Chinese food, how thin the line between hit-or-miss it can be.......if you're expecting your food to come out like PF Chang's, you're in the wrong part of town altogether.......but for takeout-style Chinese I would come here again. We stopped in for lunch and the prices are really good. You get these little chinese chips and sauce, soup (I had the hot and sour which I liked much better than the egg drop soup), an egg roll, and your choice of rice: brown, white, or fried....(fried! pick the fried!!) along with your entrée, all for under 6 dollars! The service was very attentive and very friendly and the place was spotless. The bathrooms were updated and clean. So, all things considering (the overall scary poor quality of restaurants in Apache, for example), a solid 4.5 stars well-deserved and we will be coming back! read more
