Go here often for Chinese food that's above the quality of fast food places. They have a variety of dishes and the servers are usually pretty friendly. Lotus Garden let me down big time. DON'T GO THERE! I hope someone tells them how horrible it was. I'm too angry to call them! I don't go to restaurants more than once or twice a year, if that much. So, when I do go or order out, it's a big deal. I use to work near the Lotus Garden a few years ago and the food use to be excellent. Hubby decided to surprise me with Door Dash! I chose Lotus Garden.... and I made a HORRIBLE mistake. I ordered Happy Family and got a bunch or DEAD chicken and tiny slivers of TOUGH beef and pork... and a couple TOUGH shrimp. We ordered Fried rice and got some DRIED-UP BROWN rice. We ordered two types of spring rolls and they were BURNT to a crisp and would have put a dent in the truck if I had thrown them [as I really wanted to]. At least the General Tso chicken Hubby ordered was ok. We paid about $30 for that mess. I hope someone tells them how horrible it was. I'm too angry to call them. read more

We've been twice now and the food is very good. Avoid dinner time on a Saturday night unless you really don't mind the 1 hour wait. Currently it's To Go only. Chicken lo Mein, Happy Family, and Fried Rice Combo were all delicious. Won Ton Soup is excellent. It's very affordable and is our go to spot in Apache Junction for Chinese. What a fall from a few months ago. We ordered chicken chow mein with fried rice and egg rolls. It tasted like the styrofoam box it came in. Nothing was seasoned! Everything was bland and tasteless. Even adding a lot of salt and pepper the food was still sub par. Very disappointing. We won't be eating there for a long time. read more

Apache Junction is where the Apache Trail begins and ends. Apache Indians used this trail to travel through the Superstition Mountains. Maggie's son took us out for lunch at Lotus Garden in a quiet strip mall. The area lots of open space but I don't see any trails. Inside it's bright and it looks like everybody is getting the lunch special Been a long time since I had a $5.99 lunch special. Panda Express had prices like this but I stopped going when they stopped serving my favorite dish bbq pork. I was hoping for bbq pork when I ordered the pork pan fried noodles with fried rice and spring roll. I was excited to see thin strips of bbq pork with the lo mein. Mild flavor from the wheat based noodles, cabbage, and sauce. Bbq pork was tender and had delicious 5 star powder based flavor. Fried rice was fried with just soy sauce and quite plain. Spring roll is not something I normally eat but no substitutions allowed with the lunch special. Spring roll had a delicious crunchy fried won ton wrapper. Inside were just veggies. I liked the cabbage and carrots while I didn't like a flavor that tasted like onions. Fried won ton strips were crunchy and full of delicious fried flavor. Potsticks had a crunchy shell and a nicely marinated chicken filling. Staff was friendly and attentive as my complementary soda water was refilled as needed. I enjoyed the lunch special and you get a lot more food here than at Panda Express. 2nd visit. This time I ordered off the dinner menu. Bbq ribs were tender and moist. Flavor was like char siu. Red sauce added sweetness. Pretty tasty dish. Double pan fried noodles featured crunchy egg noodles. I'm partial to egg noodles and these had a nice egg based flavor. Loved the flavors from the tender beef, chicken, shrimp, and brown sauce. I was amazed by how much beef, chicken, and shrimp this dish contained. Many places I go to give much more veggies and less meat. Lotus Garden really impressed me with how much food you get for the money plus I love their noodles and bbq ribs. read more

We placed the order over the phone 8 minutes till closing...now before you bitch at me for doing so - I have been dining and over heard the conversation of the owner and a customer. She said "we are open until 9:00pm and we mean it!" I ordered the combo fried rice and my boyfriend had the orange chicken. Both were typical American Chinese, exactly what I expected. Let's clear all of the hype out of the way right up front. This is a basic inexpensive Chinese restaurant located in a strip mall in a town that has a huge seasonal population influx. There are at least two takeaways from that, one is that this place is definitely on the low end of your budget so it's probably wise to skip right over those complaints about how they don't serve gourmet food. The other big point is that with an ever changing customer base they have to be all things to all people which means serving what the general public conceives (or misconceives) to be Chinese food. Having spent a lot of time in China on a foodie expedition maybe the most important thing I learned is that there is no such thing as "Chinese Food" ... every province, every town, even every family has a myriad of variations on how to cook and serve food. Lotus Garden is pretty good, not great, but did you really expect great? They offset that by being clean, friendly, affordable and a place where you can almost be guaranteed to need a take-out box. For the price the quantities are impressive. We shared several things including Hot & Sour soup, which is my barometer at each Chinese restaurant I go to. It was definitely "hot" as in spicy and tasted good. It wasn't at the top of my list in its genre - too thin and lacking enough ingredients, but the prices was about the lowest I've ever paid for Hot & Sour soup at a restaurant. One of our entrees (pictured) was Happy Family, which combines almost everything you can think of all together. It was a chef special and the brown sauce was very tasty. There were good-sized cuts of meat and the vegetables were firm and tender. I was less impressed with the fried rice, which was about as generic as it could be. And the pot of hot tea, well it wasn't very hot. But coming back to friendly, the quality of service was top-notch and the popularity of the place was proven by the constant stream of customers coming in for take-out on an off-season Thursday. Made the worst mistake ever and ordered through door dash. The The sweet-and-sour chicken was missing the sauce. What was provided was two small sides of sweet-and-sour sauce for the appetizers but nothing for the sweet-and-sour chicken that was missing all of the vegetables. Congratulations do you have a carry out box of deep-fried breaded chicken with none of the pay off. Tried to call to get the veggies and sauce and sadly she didn't know what to do other than me go after door dash. You call them to get credit. I tried really really hard not to be mad but sadly she only made it worse. Well played. Over half of this food is being thrown out because it was wrong. I'm willing to try again but buyer beware if you do the BS delivery. Next time I will be there in person. I hate to do this but I don't want any one to suffer the way I have. Ordered and ate a chicken dish from Lotus Garden and the next day I had, what I believed to be food poisoning. A full seven days later and I have symptoms so severe doctor is checking for E. coli and parasites from the food. Unfortunately I will not be eating here again as I cannot risk this ever happening again, especially to my child. They have the most amazing Chinese food I have had in the valley area. My boyfriend who was stationed in Korea for two years even made a comment about how authentic the food here tastes. They always get the order right, the prices are amazing and you get HUGE PORTIONS. I know lots of you are weary of eating in Apache junction but do not let this place pass you by. I wish I could give it 6 stars. I usually get the house lo mein that comes packed with beef, chicken and shrimp and they do not hold back.
