Waiting on food. This place is so chilled. Just what I needed. Great service and really good food.

Lottie's is a quintessential Bucktown bar. A true cornerstone of the community. A bar with a petting zoo may be off putting to some, but it gets the people going. They are known for their ever popular trucker hats if that suits your fancy. Stop in, pull up a seat or the bar, and cool off with a draft summer shady.

We inadvertently planned to visit Lotties on its 91st anniversary which meant the menu was limited and it was packed because 91 cent starts and sliders. Service was great considering how busy it was. We did have to sit outside and it was a bit chilly but nothing too terrible. However, it meant our food didn't stay warm more than a few minutes. I hate eating cold food that's supposed to be hot. We'll go back another day when we can sample more and enjoy some of the Chicago TV show vibes.

I like the dive atmosphere. The chicken tenders and waffle fries were great. The crowd is incredibly fratty. Not sure I'd go back.

Very crowed at nights on the weekends. Probs would only go back maybe during the day. High noons were a little over priced

Cool place you got to like in the middle of a residential area of Bucktown. It's very much a neighborhood bar but it's welcoming for the most part. Lottie's has been around a long time. Has a couple parts to it. There's a basement and there's the upstairs with the bar and kitchen. A lot of bars like this are mostly visited by those in the neighborhood, and this is pretty much the case here. It's actually surrounded by housing so it's no surprise. This is a few blocks away from any other bar or restaurant, so it's basically the most convenient to get to. Now that more people know about it, there's bigger crowds. Of course that brings in more business though. It has lots of beer. Lots on tap and many more in bottles and cans, as well as plenty of liquor. It's about $8 for most typical cocktails. The food is basic bar stuff. A lot of fried items. It's $5 for chips and salsa. A bit of a Mexican menu. There's also quesadillas. If not wanting Mexican there's also wings and that kind of grub. They get food out pretty fast it seems. Good place to get away from most of the hipster stuff in Bucktown. It has much better prices. There's still plenty of those who come here and it's not as good as it was but it's still better than most places around it though.

The mushroom and kale pie was nice and cheesy and the rocking vegan pie was more savoury, with a variety of vegetables and chickpeas as stuffing. The crust was neither too soft nor too crunchy. The highlight of the meal was the curry chips: potato wedges lightly fried with masala and curry leaves. The dipping sauce that came with the chips reminded me of tikka masala sauce, and paired beautifully with the chips. Dessert was toffee pudding: the caramel sauce that came with the pudding was delectable - the pudding itself was excellent and not overly sweet. We tried a variety of NA beers, and I was pleased with how many options they had. Service was quick, and we were well looked after. The ambiance is warm, with dim-ish lighting and a lot of dark wood. The restrooms were gorgeous - special shoutout to the lovely floral wallpaper. Overall, I highly recommend Pleasant House - the vibe is chill and understated and the food is stellar.

The sausage was very tasty, the breading on the outside was incredibly crisp, light, and the egg inside was cooked well. Both the steak pie and the chicken pie were very good. The chicken pie I think really needed the chutney that you can get separately. But that made it so much better and made it my preferred pie. The steak and ale pie was better than the chicken pie as a standalone, but needed a bit more gravy I think to elevate it. Sticky toffee pudding again was delicious. Surprisingly light, not overly dense so I was glad it came with the custard which was very flavorful. Overall, will definitely return!

I had been wanting to try Industry Ales when it opened and was glad to have had the opportunity to finally check it out! I was slightly thrown off, as the dining tables are at the front of this space, and the bar is all the way at the back. In fact, my friend at first glance thought it was a sit-down dining establishment sans bar seating. We found our way to the bar and posted up at two seats. We were offered menus right away and found the bartender extremely knowledgeable. This was super helpful when facing down an encyclopedia of ales. He offered samples when we explained what we were looking for. That is service above and beyond, especially on a bustling Friday early evening. The brews were tasty, but I couldn't really discern what I was drinking apart to say it was a lighter Belgian Ale. Wine is more in my wheelhouse, but always good to change things up, especially when a person has the opportunity to be guided by an expert. The people seated nearby had ordered the tuna tartare which looked delicious. In fact, all of the menu is globally influenced (think: pizza samosas, pierogis, Korean BBQ) in addition to the classic brewpub favorites. In addition to the Brewpub, this location features the Millroom, a speakeasy-style lounge. I did not have a chance to check that out on this visit. Definitely a cut above the usual sports bar and a place to expand one's knowledge of brews.

We were there on Friday, so the fish and chips were all-you-can-eat. So crispy on the outside and flakey on the inside. So yummy. The chips were crispy and paired perfectly with the fish splashed with the malt vinegar. The green peas were good, but my favorite was the Stovies. Whiskey fans, you'll love the huge selection along with the impressive beer selection. Yelp should really hype this as a whiskey bar, too. It more than qualifies. The cuisine is phenomenal. Definitely a place to bring a large party on your first visit, so you can sample a multitude of wonderful creations. Pro Tip: if you can tolerate a large quantity of fish, visit on a Wednesday for their AYCE Fish & Chips. I've had many hum drum AYCE dinners that are drab and only fill you up. Not this one. It's a great meal and a great deal. The Shepherd's Pie was fabulous, as was the Bangers and Mash. They've created a Haggis Burger that has to appease Americans, yet, still be haggis. A tall order since most would hate "true" haggis. Fear not, it's not your grandfather's haggis, it is a tasty burger. The fries were great but I'd recommend the Tattie Skins. We tasted so many different malts it was hard to pick a favourite. No foolin' they had island malts, highland malts, speyside and even a couple from the lowlands. Easy to spend over two hours in this public house. We did. Can't wait to get back to this town. This is a must! 02/26
