They've got a jukebox with an eclectic array of tunes as well as a super fun wrap around bar surrounded by neon lights. It's got major laid back energy and bartenders are quick, friendly, and attentive. If you're in the area, I'd totally suggest a drink or two here. It's also open way late (5 am I think), so whether it is your first or last stop of the night - you will always have a good time.

Very much a divey bar in South beach Miami from the first step of approaching the door. It's a…read morelarge space built entirely around the large bar with about 5 screens playing football, basketball, etc. You definitely get an impression of mostly locals being here and the manager was very happy to have more customers come in. The other bartenders, however, seemed to be indifferent with the additional patrons. Overall, it's a chill environment and is great for a very casual kind of night especially since they stay open so late.

I realized that I had not actually been to this location since it was The Playwright (or whatever it was called) 4 or 5 years ago. The updated interior is nice - very "pubby" - and they offer a good variety of seating from bar seats to high-tops to couches. Two things here that were standouts: First, the burger is one of the best burgers I've had on South Beach. So much so that I'm craving it again this morning. They've done a good job with the menu in that it still has all those bar foods that you look for in a place like this, but they've put some thought into elevating a number of items (e.g. the short rib poutine!) Second, the service was great. Our server (sorry, can't remember his name - a nice guy from Kendall) was very friendly and provided excellent service. As many reviews mention, this is definitely a place to watch a game. While we weren't there for this purpose last night, the TV setup is great and I could def see myself camping out there with a few beers on a weekend afternoon. As someone who lives in the neighborhood, I'll be back again for sure.

It's just a solid neighborhood bar with local character and characters, and fair prices. I would definitely come back.

Years ago I'd come here after the beach, sit on the balcony, people-watch, and cool off with a strong, frozen drink. In that sense, the place is exactly as I remember, with cold drinks on a hot Miami day and a fun atmosphere. Unfortunately, the billing experience completely changed how I felt about our visit. When the check arrived, I noticed the suggested tip percentages were unusual (around 7%, 8%, and 9%). I was planning to leave my normal 20% tip, but then the gentleman behind the bar explained that a 15% gratuity had already been added and the listed percentages would be additional. To be clear: I always tip, and I generally tip well. But adding a gratuity without authorization or clearly disclosing it up front is a big deal. A tip is supposed to be voluntary, and quietly including one, especially in a setting where you're already prompted to add more, feels misleading and wildly inappropriate. That part honestly overshadowed the visit for me. The drinks and the memories are still there, but check your bill carefully before paying. I enjoyed the nostalgia, yet this practice alone makes me hesitant to return. This practice of discretely tipping themselves is borderline theft.
