Sand Bar seems in desperate need of a reboot. They can't seem to hold on to bartenders. Service is sloooow. Maybe because no one is ever there. You never know when the kitchen is open. I was there at 5:30 on a Saturday, and the kitchen wasn't open yet! Plus, the food and drink prices have gotten a bit too high, considering the poor experience. I'll occasionally return because there isn't that much to do in North Beach and Sand Bar used to be a great spot for drinks, food, and fun in the neighborhood. However, if this continues to be the norm, my visits will not be frequent.

Sandbar is a chill restaurant near the beach. My friends and I went at 3, so there were only a few other customers at the bar. The restaurant has a few tables with life-size games (jenga, connect 4), which was fun to play when waiting for our food. They serve very typical American-grill food: burgers, pull-pork sandwiches, fries, etc. The serving sizes are huge and everything was tasty.

    Fantastic wings!!

I had a few amazing meals there lately. Chef Jerry is back, and the food is awesome. Lamb chops, asparagus, brisket, corn on the cob, tacos, nachos piled high. The beautiful bartenders are all very friendly and attentive. Smoke-free indoors. The people who do not hate kareoke (like me) all love the Friday Night singing at the Sand Bar. It's usually very popular.

Cheap drinks and such a good vibe. I looked all over the neighborhood we were staying in for a cheap bar with good food. This place has 5$ beers and 15$ burgers. You can't beat it.

Smoked chicken with Coleslaw and Mac-n-cheese.

The atmosphere and food are excellent. I am not joking when I say this is hands down the best smoked chicken BBQ I have ever eaten. And the slaw was amazing as well as the Mac-n-cheese. The people were simply wonderful too!

I've been a fan of OLD sandbar for yearssssss ! Sadly they are no longer running the actual sand in the bar situation. I moved away for two years and came back to test out the new Sandbar..... well it wasn't the best. The bartender took about 30 mins to get us 3 drinks and gave us small straws for our drinks. We shouldn't wait 30 mins for 3 drinks at all. The music choice wasn't the best either but hey we get what we get right ?

Not to be confused with the original sandbar that had actual sand on the floor. That bar moved to a new location. This bar opened last year (can't remember when) and it has been updated with many tv screens all over, no sand, bigger bar, still have a pool table, and food menu. They have also opened up an outdoor area where you can chill. Further back, you can find a room which has been equipped with a stage for live music. They offer happy hour and the prices are indicated next to the regular price. Last night I tried their wings with Korean sauce and the quesadillas and they were both delicious!!! They are still trying to promote the bar and it is not that full. The bartender was super sweet and was attentive to us. Service was good. They have several theme nights. Checkout picture with schedule. Enjoy!!

I didn't get a picture of the burger because I made the waitress take it back immediately. It literally was a lump of coal

If you're looking to wait an hour for bad service and bad food this place is perfect for you. The menu looked appealing but I was extremely disappointed. The host had a 3 course meal at the host stand next to our table. The waitress' outfit looked like she belonged at the titty bar down the street. I ordered a burger cooked medium and it came out looking like coal and the quesadillas were black too. Everything about this place was off down to the multitude of spelling errors on the menu. 10/10 do not recommend

Mahi tacos & brisket sandwich. I had a Disaronno & cranberry to drink.

Came in on a weekday evening to grab a bite. It was average. Bartender was kind, but more interested in regulars.

They bill themselves as a sports bar, and maybe that is more the case if you sit inside. We opted to sit out on the sidewalk / patio in front. The inside appeared to be fairly large, so that might be better dining option overall. The 10 or 12 tables they have outside are okay - there is an awning to provide shade and when we visited it was in the evening so heat / sun wasn't a huge issue. However, it got pretty windy outside while we were there. Also, you are technically on the sidewalk, so pedestrians, cyclists, and electric scooter riders zip in between the two rows of tables. None of this was a huge issue, but if you want to have more control over your dining environment, inside might be a better choice. The menu provided quite a variety - sandwiches, a bit of pasta, fish, meat, salads, etc. I think any party would have a good chance of satisfying everyone. My wife opted for fish and I got a burger. We both enjoyed our food and had leftovers as well (which ended up being part of the next night's dinner). They also had a full bar; the drink pricing seemed pretty good given the standards of this area. If you are just looking for a standard (or slightly better) American bar food dinner, this is a solid choice.

It was their trivia night, I believe there was a $1500 pot if you win. Everyone seemed to be playing. We arrived to late to join. The place was packed yet there were only two servers. Our server was running around like a chicken with her head cut off. However she managed to keep up with out party of 9. There were times we were waiting for assistance however we could see she wasn't just sitting on her ass. We order burgers, flat breads, tenders and steak tacos. Steak tacos were horrible Burgers were delicious Flatbread were good Tenders definitely looked like they were frozen tenders from the grocer. The beverages were nice not too strong but not weak. We were kinda profiled however as a black person you get use to it. My husband and brother stepped out for a smoke break..although everyone else was still seated at the table. We watched security run out after them. We laughed cause they looked stupid. When security ran out there they pretended to be looking at something when they noticed they guys were right outside the door. Irish pub we didn't expect any less. However it was kinds funny how the guy darted out after them then aimlessly looked around after he realized they were smoking a cigarette ‍

I realized that I had not actually been to this location since it was The Playwright (or whatever it was called) 4 or 5 years ago. The updated interior is nice - very "pubby" - and they offer a good variety of seating from bar seats to high-tops to couches. Two things here that were standouts: First, the burger is one of the best burgers I've had on South Beach. So much so that I'm craving it again this morning. They've done a good job with the menu in that it still has all those bar foods that you look for in a place like this, but they've put some thought into elevating a number of items (e.g. the short rib poutine!) Second, the service was great. Our server (sorry, can't remember his name - a nice guy from Kendall) was very friendly and provided excellent service. As many reviews mention, this is definitely a place to watch a game. While we weren't there for this purpose last night, the TV setup is great and I could def see myself camping out there with a few beers on a weekend afternoon. As someone who lives in the neighborhood, I'll be back again for sure.
