    Bison strip steak with chimichurri
    Trisha T.

This spot is both fantastic and an unexpected find in the beach town that is Long Beach, LI. I've attended a private party here and everything I had was fantastic but just recently had my first casual dinner there. I went with a party of 6 to celebrate a bachelorette which enabled us to try multiple appetizers! AMBIANCE - 5/5 When you walk in it's easy to notice the rustic yet cozy atmosphere. So much so that you wouldn't expect the high end menu options you're about to encounter. Each menu appears to be hand written and although there are some more regular items, the chef often changes things up to introduce new items. FOOD - 5/5 I easily would have ordered more than half of the appetizers if I could have but we settled for 3. My favorite, and I think many of the others' favorite was the artichoke. It was absolutely delicious and paired nicely with olive oil and what tasted like a garlic aioli. I also really enjoyed the beet salad. The added Greek yogurt was light and the pistachios added a lovely texture to the salad. The artichoke was good but not nearly as flavorful as the other two dishes. For my entree I was between the Iberico double cut pork chop or the bison strip steak with chimichurri. I ultimately went with the later and was super happy with my choice. I was surprised to find that the strip steak came out pre slice but it was still perfectly medium rare. I've had bison burgers before but never a bison steak and it did taste similar to the taste of a bison burger but in steak form which was really nice. It was cooked perfectly and the chimichurri sauce went really well with it. My friend let me try a piece of her Iberico which the waiter described as the wagyu of pork. The pork chop was also delicious and came with a peppercorn sauce that looks kind of like a light gravy but was much lighter than it looked and complemented the pork very well. The pork was also cooked perfectly which is a feat in itself since it's so hard not to overcook pork chops. Dessert was a deliciously light cheesecake with a wine based sauce and a chocolate mousse type dessert. SERVICE 5/5 In our group we had one person with celiacs and thus could not have gluten. Our server was able to tell her what was gluten free or could be made gluten free. At the end of dinner the server thought one of the two desserts had gluten in it but then someone who I believe to be a chef came out and confirmed that both desserts are gluten free! Since it was a bridal shower they were very sweet and offered us little round of celebratory alcohol, though I don't recall what kind. Three of us weren't drinking so they brought out glasses with sparkling water so we could join in on a toast. 100/10 would recommend! Thanks for having us!

Went here on the Fourth of July. Sat outside. Menu is hand written and changes often. The food was fresh and delicious. Would like to see some more vegetarian entree options but would love to go back

Cod fritters (top) and I believe blackened grouper or halibut with a corn cream thing. Whatever it was, it was dynamite.

This is the greatest restaurant not just in Long Beach, not just on Long Island, not just in New York State, this is the best restaurant I have ever had the absolute pleasure to dine. Every single dish that I've ever gotten there has been the best version of that dish I've ever had. The chefs are artists. Do yourself a favor and sit at the bar to watch these masters at work. They're talented and fast and friendly to all patrons. With a menu that is constantly changing and showcases the best and freshest seasonal ingredients, this place reminds me of the Grateful Dead... no two experiences (Grateful Dead concerts and meals at Lost & Found) are the same, but you have a wonderful and unique experience every single time. If you're fortunate enough to dine here, some of my personal favorite items I've eaten are listed as follows: - Dry-aged pork chop - Long island duck breast with butternut squash puree - The artichokes (it's insane how good they are in any form) - Garlic rubbed lamb chops - Steak tartare with grilled bread - Cod fritters (shockingly light for a fried ball) - Rustic potatoes (a dang plate of potatoes has no business being this good) They might not answer the phone when you call. They only have 2 beers on the menu (light or dark). They might not accept your credit card. If that annoys you, move on. But rest assured if you eat at Lost & Found, you're gonna leave happy and thinking to yourself "when can I come back here?!"

Excellent food and friendly professional service at this tiny West Long Beach neighborhood gem. The menu changes seasonally. Everything we ate was delicious.

I came here on Saturday to celebrate my birthday with my husband. We had a reservation and we were seated in a cute corner. The hostess lit candles and added them to each table, adding very nice ambiance. The restaurant itself has a very eclectic, cute style. The menu was one I never experienced before - completely handwritten, and apparently they change it often. I ordered the bone-in pork chop which was the special of the night and my husband ordered the rabbit over the butternut squash puree. We also ordered house potatoes for the table since the pork chop didn't come with any sides. Instead of just bread that some restaurants provide, this one provided us with some bread, wagyu butter, tomatoes, and cucumbers. I didn't think I would be raving about tomatoes but here I am. They were delicious. Our main course took a bit to come out but we were able to enjoy the people watching and the decor. The food: everything tasted amazing. I wish I had taken better pictures of the food but it was really amazing. The potatoes were a little too buttery but that was easily balanced by dipping them in the pork chop jus. I can't wait to go back and bring my closest friends.

Had a fabulous meal here last Thursday. There menu constantly changes but it seems like they always have the Hummus, which is 10/10. lil gems salad is just a spring mix with vinaigrette... kind of sour but actually perfectly paired with the super salty Cod croquettes. Thankfully those two came out together but I wouldn't order either of those again. The Lamb tartare and Beets were incredible, and the Buffalo mozzarella was good but could skip. For mains, the truffle ravioli and braised short rib were the best. The pork porterhouse was not good at all and very undercooked for our liking.

It's always a magical exploration of flavor every time I go. For some reason I do not get over here enough. Try enticing you worries never get anger anywhere else and you will understand how good food can be transformed. If you try anything you normally eat it will never be good enough anywhere else and elevated to a completely different level. Highest quality food and friendliest staff. Always a treat to return.

Gem of a place. Food is fantastic. Service friendly. Great vibe. Two blocks from beach. Will be back!

The best food in Long Beach! I love that the menu changes all the time so you can always get something different. It is so cool inside and the service is always great.

Ask the local Foodies where to eat and Lost and Found will likely be at the top of the list! Known for a constantly changing menu, this hotspot features creative dishes inspired by the regional culinary histories of Europe, the Mediterranean and Middle East- think "Gypsy Bistro". If you're lucky, you may score a seat at the Chefs' Counter, where you can watch the chefs do their thing and strike up a conversation. While it's sibling restaurant, Lost at Sea, may boast Steve's handcrafted cocktails, here you'll find a curated list of eclectic wines from near and far alongside an offering of classic German beers. Book your reservations early in the week, this places fills up quick!

    Can you accommodate 15 people?

Summer mondays tapas are the inside trick. Walk in for 15 most other days may be tricky - maybe if you get there right when they open

Has the Monday tasting menu started back up again?

They have tapas on Mondays in true catalan style. Each "piece" is usually about $2.50. It isn't small plates. It is set up as a buffet style of tastes and you take as many as you want and pay per "piece". It is AMAZING and not overly crowded. I…

    Do they have gift cards?

I don't believe so. But I could be wrong. I'd give them a call. I do know they ONLY accept cash.

    Does the restaurant take reservations?

    Yes! Call them up!

They were packed so they seated us at the last 2 seats left at the bar near the host stand. There was an acoustic singer and guitar player adding to the energetic ambience. We were handed the place mats and menus upon seating. Then it took about 15 min to order a drink. Then another 25 min before we could place our food order. The female bartender was attentive to all the parties around us, and people who came in after us seemed to be a priority. The barback finally noticed us and helped us while he was also busting out drinks. He noticed we were trying to get her attention so he stepped in kindly and took our order. We ordered the Grilled Artichokes, the Burger, and Chicken Carbonara. (Wanted the Bolognese but someone had just ordered the last one by 8pm?!) She never checked in for a second round, so we didn't bother after about 20 min we gave up. The Artichokes came out about 20 min after ordering. They plopped them in front of us, no utensils or napkins. I had to ask the barback for some. The busser seemed disgruntled a said they only had forks. Had to flag someone else for napkins, and they brought us a pile of c-fold paper towels, when they usually have cloth napkins as we noticed with patrons who came in after us. My sis-in-law and I wolf down the 4 pieces of artichokes, using our fork and hands to cut into pieces (no knife). Then another 30 min before our mains come out. Couldn't even ask anyone for a food status update, so just tried to enjoy the live music and each other's company to distract from hunger pangs. The burger and carbonara finally show and looks great. The portions were generous. Fries were a little blonde and just underdone but seasoned enough. The carbonara was delicious as well, nice and al dente. We enjoyed our food and chatted. Music was on the louder side but for a Friday night at 8ish pm, that is not uncalled for. The restaurant started to end their rush and the bar emptied out a tad, but the service did not improve. Asked for the bill and to-go containers as soon as I could flag someone bc I knew it would take awhile to get them. Of course when getting the bill things progressed speedily, so we paid and tried to get out as soon as we were done. The staff there was hot and cold. Barback was helpful and everyone else seemed "annoyed" to have to help us with simple requests that shouldn't have to be requested to begin with. Again I understand rushes happen and staff can become overwhelmed. The bar team had to service the bar and some high tops nearby plus make drinks for the rest of the restaurant, so I understand the volume was high, but again the management team should plan accordingly to make sure the diners do not have to feel the lag in the service. Food was good but left a little disappointed from the service.

I never saw a red Manhattan before, but there is was. Could not tell what bourbon it was as the red mixture was masking what kind bourbon. (It almost tasted like some kind of mix rather than a hand made drink.) Again, the food was good, ambiance as comfortable, the band was excellent, but that is as positive as I can be. When we first walked up there were 2 young ladies at the door who I assumed were hostesses but could not be more disinterested. I said we were meeting friends for dinner and they unhelpfully advised to "go in side and look for them." As our friends said they had booked a table one would have thought that the hostess could have checked to see if they arrived and if so at which table they were sitting. No such luck. Out waitress must have been from the same hospitality school as the hostesses. Totally bland as borderline unfriendly, in that there was zero interaction or anything resembling any sort of welcome or personally. Never even gave us her name. Again this was our first time there so we' were unfamiliar with the operation. There were a few servers but they seemed to come and go which made up suspect they were serving tables elsewhere on the premises. This was confirmed when we tried to find her for the bill, that we asked, again, for separate ones, which came, as expected, as one bill. So to find her for the bill, find her to correct it and get it back was close to 30 minutes.0 Equally annoying as the face that there was one, single seat bathroom in the bar. There may have been other facilities, but true form, there was no help from any of the staff. BOTTOM LINE: the food isn good, reasonably priced and good portions. The bar portion was very nice and inviting except for just one single use bathroom. The service and friendliness of the waitress and hostesses left much to be desired. Parking was off street as they don't have sufficient parking (we parked some 2 blocks away..) If you live within walking distance, wish to sit at the bar and listen to good music (at least last night) I would recommend Dox.. As we live close to an hour away, I can not make a recommendation to travel to have good food and entertainment at the expense of substandard service, questionable drinks and scant sanitary facilities. Sorry, it would not take much to get a higher rating but prolly not enough for us to make a return visit.
