Awesomeness!!! We went for dinner on Saturday night and were lucky enough to sit at the chef's table!! The menu is pretty fluid changes frequently maybe even nightly. Everything we had was amazing. We started with the Nazari which was a tangy kind of slaw. I love cabbage and had to try it. We were not disappointed. Next we had the ratatouille, beautifully done so tasty and warm. For dinner we shared the duck which was a specialty they night along with the rustic potatoes. Throughout the meal we interacted with the chef and got to observe him work his magic with his team. My wife couldn't wait to go to this restaurant. She had heard and read great things. We had a 6:00 reservation on a Saturday night. First they wanted to seat is a the "bar stool" table for 2 near the door where the winter cold from the front door lived. My wife asked to be reseated at a regular table. After a much chagrin by the hostess, we were seated at a regular table. Next on to the menu. First up was the Roasted Brussels sprouts. Yes, the were roasted, roasted to a crisp. The only taste we got was the sauce which seemed to appear on other dishes we ordered. It was kinda a ranch dressing all salted up. Next came the flat iron steak. Fair at best. The potatoes were a little over done as well as coated with the special sauce. Finally the duck, also a bit salty. They star they earned was for the waitress and her pleasant service. Came here on Friday night for dinner around 930ish and it was packed! Hubbie and I shared some plates per the usual: - burrata salad with tomatoes and figs- very fresh ingredients with the tomatoes being on point and a lovely balsamic dressing - pouple - Cooke's very well and served with favs beans and other fresh slaws - duck sausage - this was my fave. Was in an onion like creamy sauce. Was very well cooked and flavorful - steak - not the largest piece of meat but very well cooked. Wasn't served with anything either which for the cost was a little odd. Thought it would have been a little bit more filling Service- hostess was lovely, waiter was meh. Legit seemed like he was doing is a favor serving us. I had to ask for water more than once and we only ended up with 1 round of drinks because he barely came by. On the plus side we were in an out within an hour so it was quick (which is what we wanted for the evening). The gem of Long Beach. It's an intimate spot that only takes cash, so plan your visit accordingly... but do make sure that you plan a visit. The staff is incredibly friendly and if you catch the chef in the right "mood", it's almost like having your own private show. As far as the food goes, don't even get me started... the menu constantly changes depending on what the chef has available, but every item is unique and delicious. Seriously, don't be afraid to try multiple/all options as many of the plates are "small", but oh MAN are they incredible. Given how frequently the menu changes I don't really have a single item to recommend, but I would suggest trying anything beef/steak-related if it's on the menu. read more

It's only getting 3 stars because I had a better prior experience there. Invited there for a small get-together in the past and was fine, but now I'm thinking that time the host of said party made very specific requests. This past time my wife and I were not happy. Yes, we should have perused the menu online before arrival. The limited menu left us ordering 2 salads and 2 cooked veggie dishes, no bueno. I'm not gonna eat raw tuna, venison, or duck, I'm no caveman. The wine list was limited and overpriced. Since we were still hungry at the end we ordered both desserts. The apple thing was fine. Not really the reviewing type but this place is exceptional. Came here solo while in town for a gig (I'm a musician) and was worried because so many of the reviews said you need a reservation. However when I went it was walk-in only and was seated right away at the chef's counter. I was greeted by the dynamic duo holding it down and enjoyed every bite and every moment of my experience. While it was crowded it didn't feel overwhelming. I have dined in countless restaurants all over and this was truly a memorable experience. I can't wait to come back. Went on a Saturday evening & was able to get a table after a short wait. The menus are paper & taped to the door. You take a pic & look at them at the table. We got a burrata & stone fruit salad, fried artichokes, steak & chicken. The artichokes were absolutely delish & gone so fast we didn't even get a pic. I felt my steak was seasoned so that it tasted like breakfast sausage-wasn't the biggest fan of the flavor. The chicken was cooked & seasoned to perfection. Definitely a fan. We've been meaning to try Lost and Found for a while now but weekend reservations are difficult to come by. Call in advanced! The ambiance is very intimate and cute, it's a perfect date spot. The place is tiny hence the struggle for a reservation. Anyways, the food is outstanding. It's really surprisingly unbelievable for the area. The tapas styled menu is very creative and changes frequently. Everything we ordered was expertly crafted: honey glazed carrots, octopus, pork belly, steak tar tar, and the duck. I'd say the pork belly was the best that I've ever had. Also, it was my first time trying steak tar tar...this was equally amazing. Prices are definitely up there but honestly, it's worth it. The food is great. We left very happy. Also, decent wine/beer choices. Our server was great. She was kind and attentive throughout our meal without being annoying. BUT it was very obvious that they gently rush you out here....which is okay I guess given the small space/popularity. Regardless, I do plan to come back. Try it. read more

Came in here after a Typical LB Sunday funday and sat around the chefs table... main dude, I forgot his name, real cool guy and funny; he also seemed super passionate about what this place delivers and I love that. We had the best steak that was devoured in two minutes flat; cooked to perfection and blasting with flavor. The scallops were AMAZING. They were seared and fresh as hell, such a light taste too. How lucky we are to have this restaurant in our own Long Beach, New York. Our meal there last night was a great birthday present to me from my husband Jim Mulvaney. The elegant food is served without pretension in a comfortably rustic atmosphere, making Lost and Found "so Long Beach," in the best of ways. The burrata appetizer would be the envy of our favorite cheese connoisseur, who will be invited to a subsequent meal the next time she graces our town. My duck was moist. (A sentence I have longed to write). And, Jim's delicious charcuterie had just enough choucroute. (This is both true-true and an old family joke). Wow! What a nice dinner at this lovely place. I snuck in for dinner alone at just the right time. My seat had a front row view of all the people being turned away, so make sure you have a reservation! The food was fantastic, start to finish. I understand the menu changes often; I got to try the tartare, salad, steak, and potatoes - all really delicious! Each plate was beautifully and thoughtfully composed, with gorgeous ingredients. My salad had mozzarella, figs, tomatoes, prosciutto, and some sort of stone fruit, maybe plum. Outstanding! And very pretty to look at! There were some garlic breadcrumbs that really made the whole dish. It's obvious they know what they're doing in the kitchen, and put a lot of thought into the product and the presentation. I'd love to come back with more people so I can try more dishes! Lastly, their bread service is terrific. Plated nicely, and a delicious selection of two breads. Speechless. I am a sucker for tapas and if you're like me this is the spot for you in Long Beach. I am a Long Beach native and this place is fairly new. The menu was filled with variety but not too much to be overwhelming, just perfect. Also the menu changes every week so that keeps it fun and exciting. The inside is very simple but modern very nice, I went during the day but I've passed by at night and it looks even nicer with the lights. Environment was very welcoming and friendly as if we've been there multiple times. Anyways the food was amazing may I say I ordered the fish which was so flavorful and soft- cooked to perfection. The sauce was an amazing pair with the fish. Not to mention that they weren't serving fish because it's a dinner item but the owner/chef offer to make it anyway, how kind. Hands down the beast meal I had in my life. Put our names in at 8, grabbed a beer at Lily's while we waited. Seated by 9 (which is 100% fine knowing the amazing meal ahead and getting nice and tipsy makes everything taste better). We had 3 dishes and I literally cannot stress how good it was. Alexis came over and had a beer with us, he was super friendly and humble as we gushed over how good our food was. You know when you walk into a place and feel instantly transported to somewhere else? That's what this place feels like. We came in for dinner on an oddly chilly and dreary day, and instantly felt comforted by the warm wooden interior and open kitchen. This place could've been a hole in wall anywhere in France or Spain, but Long Beach? We had counter seats at the Chef's table, so we had a great view of the open kitchen watching the Chef prepare our meals. What a treat!!! First of all, the food! You probably wouldn't expect it in Long Beach, but the food was as good as any Michelin starred place in NY or SF. Nothing was pretentious but so well crafted and prepared. To say we enjoyed our meal would be an understatement. We started off with a fantastic beef tartare, we had perfectly grilled lamb chops and asparagus bagna cauda, and an excellent rabbit saddle. You know you're in the hands of an exceptional Chef when the rabbit is so juicy and tender, you wonder why it's not on the menus everywhere. I'm always tempted to order Rabbit when I see it on the menu, because I've had amazing dishes and know the potential, but I've got to admit 9 out of 10 times I question my choices. This rabbit was up there with the best. We ended with a lovely lemon tart that was not too sweet and perfect ending to our rustic but amazing meal. Not to knock off Long Beach, but I had to double punch myself to make sure I wasn't really in Paris. Few other things: only wine no cocktails (for cocktail head down to Lost at Sea and that's another gem), and FYI place is CASH ONLY, but very reasonably priced for the quality of food. Service is friendly and attentive. But for the real treat ask for the counter top seating with the Chef! This is the perfect reason we'll be coming back to Long Beach. read more

The prices was a bit over the top, the dishes (Tapas) though small were VERY small, not at all for sharing. The seating leaves a lot to be desired.
