You can park in the additional parking spots all around Shopper Ln. I have been a customer for many years and tried many delicious dishes. They serve a traditional Mexican open buffet at certain times. The waiting line is expected, but don't feel discouraged because it moves fast. The decor is vibrant enriched with colorful murals. The staff are very welcoming and genuinely warm. The restaurant has cozy and inviting ambience. Outdoor and indoor seating are available. I placed an online order for pickup. It was fast and convenient since I had friends coming for dinner. I ordered the following: - Burrito Panchon 5/5 Stuffed with carnita, beans and rice, served with cream, beans and guacamole. Huge portion! You can choose your protein. - Fajitas Cielo Mar Y Tierra 5/5 Marinated beef, shrimp, chicken. It served with sauteed bell peppers tomatoes and onions, rice, guacamole, beans and pico de gallo. It was smoky, savory and flavorful. - Vegetarian Enchiladas 5/5 Corn tortillas stuffed with bell pepper, corn, onion, carrot, cilantro, squash, and topped with a combination of cream and jack cheese. The portion was enormous. It was a very flavorful and savory. - Carna Asada 5/5 Flap meat marinated with homemade adobo. It served with pico de gallo, rice & guacamole. The meat was juicy and tender. It was such a delicious dish. - Empanadas 5/5 I chose chicken empanadas. It served with salad. The empanadas was crispy from outside and very flavorful. - Ensalada de Nopales 5/5 Diced cactus mixed with tomatoes, onion, lime, and cilantro. - Taquitos 5/5 It was crispy from outside with savory and juicy filling. - Taco de Cameron , taco de Pescado & taco de Birria 5/5 They were savory, juicy and delicious. - Beans 5/5 Topped with melted cheese, really delicious - Large Bionico Bowl 5/5 Fresh fruits like topped strawberries, mango, cantaloupe, banana, papaya, blueberries, apples, pineapple topped with granola and shaved coconut. It was rich, creamy. The fruits were fresh and sweet. It was heavenly! Every box was wrapped with layers of plastic wrap perfectly. I got a bag full of different types of salsa with my order and another bag with tortilla chips. The food portions were very generous. Every dish reflected authenticity and deliciousness. Fonda Don Chon has high quality, flavorful and delicious food. It is my FAVORITE MEXICAN RESTAURANT.

Decided to give it a try since always on the prowl for good Mexican Food. Good decision. The ambience is very nice with 4 TVs to watch various sports games. There is also a fully stocked bar. Tables in center floor with booth seating as well. Was quickly greeted by friendly young lady who seated me and brought me a glass of Horchata. Had good flavor with plenty of cinnamon and other goodness. Narrowed my selection to a handful of choices: Super Burrito, Taco Salad, Enchiladas Suisas, or Enchiladas a la Crema. I told the server, Madison, l that this was my first time and asked for her recommendation from my list. She said the Taco Salad was really good but said the Enchiladas Suisas were all the rave. I ordered it with a side of Chiles Torreados serranos instead of jalapeños. The green Suisa sauce was tasty with the traditional zesty spice. The entire plate was hot from the typical heating to melt the cheese. The beans and rice were really good. The Enchiladas themselves were also good. I will say though that the chicken inside the enchilada could have been hotter. The chips and salsa were really good. You only get one basket of chips and one refill on the horchata so plan accordingly. Wanted to try a small cup of the albondigas soup but they only sell it in the large portion,l so will have to try on another visit. Madison highly recommended the bread pudding desert with scoop of ice cream. Despite not being a huge fan of bread pudding, I decided to give it a try given her suggestion. WOW! This was one of the best deserts I have ever had. Absolutely fantastic! Can't wait to sample some of their other dishes! When it was time to be seated, we noticed two empty booths, but the hostess rudely told us they were unavailable and offered us a small table in the corner. When we declined and asked about the booths, she explained that they were reserved. She then offered outdoor seating, even though it was very hot outside. The lack of a welcoming attitude made for a poor first impression. We decided to leave and go somewhere else, where we received better service

This restaurant is in a strip mall with: DD's, Yoshinoya and Smart and Final on Azusa. We ordered these quesobirria tacos x4 $5 each,1 consome to share $1.50, and their surf & turf burrito $16. Did we expect the tacos to be better than the ones at Disney's DCA at a 10 rating? Especially since these were soft not fried like DCA's. No, but tell you what, these were an 8 since we are comparing. NOW, the next day, I heated up the leftover 2 tacos in my air fryer at 425 for 6 min. Guess what? They are a 10 out of 10, just like DCA's!!!! Fuego can you fry these up? I My husband and I shared the surf and turf burrito. It was large enough to share! Heavy, packed with moist rice, melted cheese, birria and shrimp. Only modification we ask for was no pico and no chipotle crema. The shrimp was freshly cooked on the plancha and to perfection (had a snap). I was worried at first, no one wants rubbery shrimp. This was by far our most favorite item, and probably the best burrito i've ever had!!!! My husband said he'll buy me my own next time. Sorry, I don't have a photo. We gobbled that up so quick. So now I'm thinking we should order burritos to eat now and order the tacos to take home for next day air fryer meals. Now we can skip on them at DCA and enjoy other things we love to eat at Disney .

The store itself was small and accommodates parties of 4 or less well. They have a kiosk for ordering. This was a classic burrito so it came with beans, rices, onions, cilantro, cheese. Everything was seasoned well and I enjoyed it! I'd be interested to try their other items in the next visit.

Ambiance is old school Mexican restaurant with fun mariachi music playing softly in the background. We used to come here years ago. Just can't remember why we stopped. I think it was an AC thing. We got served some good old fashioned chips and salsa, always a favorite. I think I saw a piece of mango floating in it but I could be wrong, as it did not taste sweet. Tasted quite peppery so maybe it was a bell pepper. I have no idea. Salsa did have a different taste than the usual onion, garlic, tomato, cilantro so I'm unsure what they do here. Chips were fine, not hot and fresh but had a nice crunch to them. Most Mexican restaurants I've been to have this similar combination option and I saw their menu had a combo with three items: one enchilada, one chile relleno and one crunchy taco. I thought, awesome, I get to try one of each and see how I like 'em. I normally get a taquito with my meal so I asked the waiter if it was ok to order this combo with a taquito or flauta in place of the crunchy taco. He said no. Not, "I'm sorry for the inconvenience but we don't allow substitutions, thank you for understanding, etc." Just, no. Ok...? Never been to a place that cared much about me subbing a taco for a taquito, unless the plates are preassembled with a crunchy taco, which doesn't make any sense. Thought that was a little off-putting but onward... We ordered the potato taquito appetizer that was listed on their menu. Plate arrives and it's huge - which made sense since it cost $18 - but they were all visibly beef taquitos. I happened to be dining with my vegetarian friend, hence the ordering of potato taquitos, so we kindly informed the waiter that we ordered potato and these were all beef taquitos. Waiter confusingly indicated that these were potato taquitos and we kind of glanced at each other like... uhhh, there's clearly shredded beef in there sticking out, so we pointed it out. Waiter looks again, points to one specific taquito on the plate and says, "Well, that one is potato." The waiter eventually clarified that the taquitos were actually beef with potato. I politely informed him that since my friend is vegetarian and the menu didn't specify beef in the taquitos, we couldn't accept or eat the dish. The waiter was pushy about it and suggested we just take them home and eat the leftovers. Dude no. I ordered potato taquitos and we're only two people, and this was a massive plate of around 15 taquitos. I don't have an air fryer or oven at home, either, so I really have no proper way of reheating and I'm just one person. Either way, none of this was something I felt was worth arguing over. Just take the friggin taquitos back. We sat there uncomfortably for a bit and waited for our main meals to arrive. Got my combo, and it was honestly pretty good. Flavors were fresh and vibrant, even the taco was good although I was bitter it was a half-moon fried piece of tortilla with beef instead of a rolled fried piece of tortilla with beef. :( It's a joke, chill. We finished and the waiter brought out the bill. We quickly left our cards for payment and in clear view for the waiter to pick up so we could leave and digest by walking at the mall or something, but he never came. He walked by a few times, cards were sticking out... still nothing. After 30 minutes, my friend says she thinks we have to pay at the front. Would've been nice to know about 30 minutes ago. Paid at the front, left, and I won't be coming back. Food was actually pretty good but it unfortunately did not outweigh the lack of service and overall experience of eating here. Parking was good, at least.

I also don't appreciate the poor attitude that two of the bartenders have been displaying lately. They have favorites and it shows a lot. I understand that when it's time to close it's time to close and go. But if you're serving other people and treating those same people nicer because they're your favorites, well that's not cool. In the end we're all patrons. We all support when consuming. But above all, it's the poor attitude that I will never pay for. I used to like coming here often. I probably will never again. I also know that occasionally in the bar they overcharge for cocktails thinking customers will not notice because they've been drinking and bartenders refuse to adjust the check. This is terrible and now you know.
