The rice was not traditional Mexican rice and did have a bit of a crunch to it rather than a toast before cooking. The beans were just plain pinto beans, not refried beans, but they were good. Worst service ever and food! We ordered 15 tacos and asked the person at the register that my family and I did not want onions, cilantro (Pico de Gallo). I confirmed with him 2 different times that we only wanted meat and guacamole. When we received our order it had onions and cilantro (Pico del Gallo). My wife and I approached the the person who took our order and explained that our order was wrong and he confirmed that his cook didn't follow the order as he wrote it, he explained that they were at fault since we made it clear that we didn't want Pico de Gallo. The manager then approached us and took our plates and began to pick out the pico de Gallo with his fingers. he was clearly upset and told us that the order was to big to redo. I explained to him that it was unprofessional what he was doing especially because his own employee took fault and clearly understand our orders were wrong. We spent $40 plus and he fingered our entire order. He refused to give us a refund. We took it as a loss. During this time my son ate his taco and didn't finish it since it was nasty and not authentic food as they promote. we let them keep our fingers tacos and money. we will never be back, unprofessional and dirty. read more

Don't ever buy a single chip from them.. I was told they were very good, so i wanted to give them a try. I ordered super nachos and I got nacho fries... I politely went back to tell them i had ordered nachos, not fries, and the older man cooking yelled at me and said that's what you ordered!!,I said.. but you didn't even take my order and you were in the other room, so how would you know what i ordered? he said I'll give you you're money back. I dont want my money, i want what i asked for.. he said, you have to pay for it again!!! i asked for the supervisor's phone number , and he said i'm not giving you the number!! I got my money and stormed out, he didn't even give me the entire money back, but I guess I can't expect to much from someone that apparently can't read. It would not allow me to skip the star rating part, so I had to give them 1 star in order to say it is definately the absolute worse customer experience I've ever had. A friend of mine had mentioned it was a good place for tacos and I wanted to check it out, but the older cook is a total jerk. I asked for one of their menu items and the cashier told me the cook did not want to make it... I've never heard of such thing, ever!!! They should have small print under every menu item saying... I'm a big fan of their alPastor tacos, which are always cooked to perfection with the addition of pineapple - it's truly delicious! Their salsas are also top-notch. I'm a regular at this Temecula taco shop and it was rediculos how the cook didn't want to answer a simple question and gave the cashier a hard time. I asked for two burritos and to be bagged separate when I received them I ask which one was which because they weren't marked and the young lady ask the cook and he said in Spanish he can open it and the young lady apologized for his attidued never have I been treated like this before, the cashier was great ask her for his name and it's Ivan. I refer to these places as California or SD style Mexican food and usually order accordingly. We didn't want any leftovers for just ordered the beef taquitos and a hard shell chicken taco. The taco was amazing. Chicken tasted like it was shredded off the bone and not just boneless chicken breast which we find boring. Great flavors and chunks of meat which gave a home style taste and texture. The taquitos were as expected. Couldn't taste the meat and guac a little watery, but hit the spot if you know what to expect and roll with it. Salsas were all really great, but the chipotle one was our favorite. Friendly service as well and clean inside. Happy to have stopped by and would go back again to try a few more items.

Although the menu…read morehas changed somewhat, the prices have increased, salsa is now packaged, the food and service is still 5 stars. We are also ordering different favorites from Cotija's. I love the Cotija's Burrito and the fish taco. The Cotija's Burrito is ample with plenty of carne asada, ham, bacon, cheese, grilled onions, pico and guacamole. The fish taco is very tasty and is only 1.99. The cheap Pete in me applauds the low price. The wife gravitates towards the Shrimp Burrito. She orders it without rice and seems to really enjoy it. She cuts it in half and it makes two meals for her. Cotija's has changed over the past 4 years but still rates in our top 5 for the areas best Mexican food. Note: this location is takeout only. There is no place to eat outside or inside unless of course you eat in your car/truck/SUV or motorcycle.

It's messy, it's beefy, it's everything your inner foodie chaos goblin dreams of!!

The bacon inside was very crispy which I love. The cheese and egg ratio was perfect, I loved every bite! I also had the green sauce from the bar which made it even better. They were big burritos, so we took the other half to go. Service was very nice and if we lived in town, this would definitely be a regular place for us!
