I have visited Los Tacos a few times. The best lengua tacos i've had in a while. All the other food I've tried is pretty much averag. However, there are no other mexican food places that are any better. Being from L.A I have been spoiled with much better and cheaper mexican food. The reason for the 3 stars: every time I order plain tacos for someone who doesn't eat onions or cilantro they always add it. Whether I specify it on an online order or in person, and I make sure to repeat just tortillas and meat! But they make it the way they want not the way you order it. Also walked in to the restaurant to no greeting from the cashier. They just stand there staring waiting on you to order. They had no visible menu, all the t.vs were off. So you either know the menu or you ask the cranky cashiers. Not a great experience. Pretty average food. Horrible customer service. read more

I came here craving a good burrito. I ordered a California burrito and added chorizo. My first concern was they charged me $18! The Cali was 12 bucks so they charged me $6 to add Chorizo. I am ok spending $18 if it is worth it so I was anticipating a massive burrito. Nope! It was tiny. I was on lunch so had to get back to the office, and when I got here I cut it in half and it looks like they substituted over half the carne asada for chorizo. I didnt ask to substitute, I asked and paid for extra meat. Don't charge me extra and not put in extra meat! It should be massive but it was small. Even for a Cali burrito it was small. They also put in too much pico. The guy was nice. Place was clean. Flavor was overran by pico though and the size of food for the price was ridiculous. I feel ripped off and will not be coming back. I have had this burrito at multiple places and have never seen it this small, not even close. When you order extra meat, and pay a hefty price for it, the burrito should reflect that in the size and portion. Very disappointed. read more

4 star place... but this is why it's a 3 star review: Let's start with the good. The quality of the food is good. It isn't spectacular but it isn't poor. Flavor is good and the meats tasted good. Nothing was over-spiced or fatty. I got carne asada and carnitas and they were both good. My wife's carne asada burrito was fair as well. No complaints there really, just not explosive with flavor. Now the reason why reduced stars... as I mentioned above, 4 stars because there was nothing that really stood out to me. Everything was average. It's not bad but it's not great. The other reduction of a star was because I had ordered 3 tacos (carne asada, carnitas, and al pastor) but I got pollo asado instead of al pastor. I was honestly really bummed about this because not every taco shop has al pastor on the thing where they carve it off... so I was disappointed. My receipt did not show pollo so somebody made a mistake. Also, I ordered a drink with my order and when the girl handed me my food, I had to remind her of my drink. A little thing, but still... seems like the organization of business needs to be evaluated and executed properly. Overall, just an average place. I probably won't go back unless I don't feel like driving far since this is right by my house. read more

I came here for the first time with a few friends and our experience was an overall good one. Environment/atmosphere: This place was pretty empty during 5 pm when we came in, so the restaurant wasn't very noisy. It's well-decorated, has plenty of seating, and is very clean overall. Food: I ordered two tacos total (one al pastor and one carne asada) and an horchata. Both tacos were loaded with toppings, especially guacamole (a huge plus in my book). The al pastor taco also had pineapple as one of the toppings, which at first I was a little hesitant about, but actually ended up loving! The tacos were delicious and filling - well worth spending ~$2.50/taco. However, do keep in mind that the horchata is $3 and does not come with refills. Customer service: The worker was nice, but there were some issues when it came to payment. I was given two receipts - one said that my card was charged $6.77 and the other said that it was charged $8.77, so I'm not sure the actual amount I ended up paying. In addition, my friend was given the wrong amount of change since the worker mistook her $20 bill for a $10 bill. When she caught this mistake, the worker counted the register and was able to give her the correct amount of change afterwards. This is a pretty solid place if you're looking for some quality mexican food. I will most likely be returning during a taco tuesday for their $1.50 tacos! read more

After visiting the beach, we had a hankering for tacos and our family had told us about this place. We needed a new taco shop to add to our favorites and this one is now! The menu has me wanting to go back again today (see pictures). I didn't read the menu until we left, and ordered chicken street tacos with guacamole. They had a wonderful spicy flavor and the tortillas were soft, melt in your mouth corn tortillas. They weren't those hard thick ones that some street tacos are made with. The flavor was fantastic and the habanero hot sauce lit my tastebuds right up. And oh the quesadilla was amazing. It wasn't the greasy quesadilla found at one of the "berto's type" taco shops. It had different creamy cheeses and didn't slide out of your hands. The burritos are huge and very fresh tasting per my family. I think I will go for the surf and turf next time. read more

My husband told me to try this place when we first starting dating, which was 5 years ago. Their food has always been the same consistency everytime we come to San Diego to visit. This used to be our "go to" mexican place but recently the food became inconsistent and the conflicting music from the kitchen and dining area became too much. Depending on who is in the kitchen- the food and service are really good or just mediocre. That no longer works for us, very sorry to say so it's back to Mr. Taco. We tried to call to speak with the manager/owner but no one ever answered the phone. We did express concern about the loud conflicting music when we were there but no one seemed to care. I love that this franchise is branching out. The food at this location is just as amazing as the others. One of the few taco places that actually serve authentic Tj style tacos. My go-to is the Carlsbad Burrito- which at this location is called The Local- Essentially a Cali burrito but with Al Pastor and piña. They also participate in Taco Tuesday- tacos $1.50 each! Love it!
