I must've driven past this place 1 million times, but the swordfish bolted to the sign out front always gave me a strange impression. Is this a seafood restaurant? Is this a sports store? We finally tried it out this afternoon and I was surprised at how large the interior is. They have a large menu, and a surprising ice cream bar. When they first brought our food to the table, we were both apprehensive. I had ordered eggs and ham, and the ham looked like sandwich meat. My guest ordered Menudo, and he said he likes more of a stew consistency, where this was very watery soup looking. We both really enjoyed our meals however, and I will be coming back to this restaurant to try more of their menu.

Large Jamaica and a small Tamarindo. No size in between.

Employees were super friendly. I couldn't decide wether to get the Chile's rellenos OR the costillitas en salsa verde so they made up a combo plate with both! WIN! The chile relleno was delicious, the costillitas were ok. Rice and beans were great too. The hubby got pescado al mojo del ajo and he LOVED IT! Prices are a dollar or two more than other Mexican joints BUT their portions were HUGE. 2 people can almost eat from 1 plate. The place is pretty standard Mexican. I like that you can see the prepared food on display and choose like that. I also loved how accommodating the staff was. Overall, I recommend it.

The best asada (steak) taco that I have had to date. I like to throw around words like "best" and "favorite" left and right. So what! Reason # 1093 why I love yelp. I never would have found this place without Pancho V's help. (an outstanding yelp author) Cati-corner to corporate America's business as usual, AKA, a shopping mall that houses a Von's and a Starbucks, this place could be easily missed. Don't miss it. I am a huge red meat fan, but I shy away from the steak taco. SO much can go wrong friends. SO much. I know what I am getting when I order a petite fillet and often save my red meat encounters for the choice cuts to spare myself from a misery that you might relate to. In the wide world of 'what ifs' proposed, WHAT IF? I never tried the steak taco here. Just imagine! No. I am a woman. I have changed my mind. Do not imagine. Those would be sad days indeed friends. I would tell you that they have an extensive menu at the register where you may place an order and pay a modest sum to dine in or take out. I would say that they provide cozy, albeit worn booths to sit in without waiter service, allowing you to tip at your discretion. I might tell you that there is usually free street parking right in front of this business on Orange Grove. I might tell you that the breakfast looks as good as the many varieties of tacos that I have tried so far here. I might tell you of the numerous times I've been back since first trying this place. But I won't I will simply tell you that here lies my all time favorite steak taco in LA. Where no such inedible bite has vexed me thus far. Where the perfectly seasoned leanest steak is ladled lovingly into a fresh corn tortilla and it is a masterpiece. I will advise you to order this single item or a few of them and a soda. You will exit here full. How much will this run you? Under five bucks. "Screw you Subway!" *insert a little laughter* Trust me. You will thank me. Like I am now thanking Pancho V.:-) Gracias Pancho!

Wanted to try some new Mexican food so came here for lunch. The reviews looked good so I decided to give it a shot. Street parking only so finding a spot during lunch may be a little tricky. Once I found a spot I walked in and looked at the menu then placed my order. Chips - Their chips were nice and crunchy. I know at times you can get stale chips but not here. Came with two small to go sides of a red salsa and a green. Both salsas were good and great flavor. Burrito - Burrito de carne asada was a disappointment. Tons of rice which I always order burritos with no rice but this time I forgot. Beans and lettuce salsa on the side. The carne asada was hard and chewy and really a disappointment. I knew it at first bite. Taco - Taco de alpastor. Now this was a surprise. I ordered al pastor and I was not expecting what I got. What I got looked and tasted like barbacoa. It was tasty but not what I was expecting. Nice size taco canoe in a regular corn tortilla. Orchata - Can you really complain about Orchata. It was nice and sweet and hit the spot. I do not think I will be coming back to this place but if your around the area and want to give it a shot stop by. Stay hungry my friends!

Specials on a table in the back

Good food but way too expensive for what you get. Portions are not big enough! Then they have the specials on a table in the back???? Why would they have specials in the back where you cannot see them? Don't understand? If I had seen the specials I would've ordered one! Buyer beware

First time only bcuz my trailer tire was completely flat , and Als Tires told me 1 hour waiting time just to get it from the warehouse, so I decided to come here Los Primos for Lunch ... Lil bit pricey but every single dollar that I spent here was worth it , flour tortillas on shrimp taco and fish taco is like real tacos from Ensenada Mx , coming back for sure 100% recommended

I come here for their chilaquiles, shrimp cocktails and green aguachiles. I have tried their asada tacos personally not my fave.

$hits pretty expensive here, I'd avoid this place. Their food was okay but I'd prefer la estrella or Baja California / fish and tacos.

This time I got their mango aguafresca, flan, esquite, and chicken torta to try. The mango agua Fresca was sweet mangoy and refershing. The flan was firmer than what I'm used to but was still super creamy, not too sweet and had plenty of this caramely toasty flaves. It's corn season and the corn in the esquite MNM. Amazingly buttery juicy sweet and generously topped with rich mayo, Cotija cheese and tajin. The torta was also REALLY YUMMY and was filled with crunchy fresh onions, lettuce, tomato, and radish, soft beans, savory cheese, and tender limey flavorful perfectly grilled chicken. I even added some of their super fresh yummy guac and omg pure deliciousity right there. Overall this place is still pretty good. Mango agua Fresca $5 Flan $5 Esquite $7 Chicken torta $12 +$4 guac

It was good BUT it was a bit too salty and the rice in the burrito made it a bit mushy. If you like your burritos like this you would be ecstatic, but I was not. Putting chucks of veggies or cabbage would have made it less much.... Maybe even corn, I will come back to try other dishes on the menu, but not the burrito..... breakfast tacos next!

Great little beer spot in old town Pasadena…read more We arrived around 6pm on a Saturday and the place was packed, but we were able to find 2 seats at a communal picnic table inside. Small joint but they have a few bar seats and picnic tables inside and a nice outdoor patio with more seating. They don't offer food but usually have a food truck outside. We ordered a flight of beer to try a few different styles. The guy behind the bar was great and the beers were tasty.

For example, they have a Spanish Language Brewery Meet-up every 3rd Thursday from 7:30-9:30pm monthly. Parking is street only so be mindful of the neighbors. There is no food service at this location but they seem to partner with a couple food trucks serving tacos. Some inside open air seating but the main draw is the relaxing patio. I liked their hard seltzers with fun flavors as jicama, tamarindo and passionfruit. I didn't like so much their signature Yerba Mate Pale Ale, but thought it was an interesting concept. The happy hour special is Monday all day and Tuesday-Friday open until 6pm $2 off full pours. Very family friendly, I always see a couple tables with children and dogs at them. Maybe I'm getting to be an old fuddy duddy but I hate when parents let their kids go free range. Screaming and running around like the establishment is a park these kids becoming trip hazards. There needs to be a revamp of their board game collection. There three boxes of games that looked incomplete or used up, not good with such games as Scrabble and Pictionary. Free Wifi with log-in is a bonus!

After visiting the Huntington Library in the grueling heat and hordes of people, looked for somewhere closeby to eat on co-pilot, and was suggested this place with a patio which was one of my requirements. Arrived and parked on the street on a Sunday which is free, and could not find the place it's kind of tucked away. After walking up a block found the charming little passage way with some patio seating. It seems like it's a family-owned and operated restaurant as always a great indicator of things to come is the complimentary chips and salsa. They were perfectly thin crispy non-salty and warm, paired with a nice salsa that seems house made but was a little too tomato/ketchupy but by no means bad. I had crispy taco with shredded beef and chili relleno combo. It was pretty good. ($21 )I enjoyed the rice and beans and it was a filling portion. Wife and mother-in-law split a carne asada plate the meat was flavorful and tender ($30) came with the cheese enchilada was also very enjoyable. They have a really large patio so it's hard to fill but people kept coming in and out so the locals know something. The customer service was warm and welcoming, the restaurant was clean and well maintained, and the ambiance created the perfect dining experience. What made this visit especially memorable was how authentic the food tasted. I recently spent two amazing weeks in Peru, and this meal instantly took me back. I was able to enjoy two of my favorite Peruvian dishes, and they were absolutely delicious and full of authentic flavor. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great food and a wonderful atmosphere. It was truly an amazing experience, and I look forward to coming back. This was my second time ordering catering from them. The food was good, but the service was especially frustrating. I spent over 30 minutes on the phone, in both English and Spanish, trying to process payment, which lead to nowhere till I had to drive myself to the restaurant to swipe the card manually. When it was time to pick up the order, the restaurant could not spare anyone to help bring the food to our car, despite it being a large catering order and the pickup taking place on a very busy avenue. What was most disappointing was the lack of concern or willingness to offer any assistance. The food arrived late for our event as a result. While the food was good, the poor service has made me reconsider ordering catering from them again, returning as often, and recommending them to others. It's a shame because I genuinely enjoy the food, but there are other options available. Hopefully, the service issues I experienced with catering do not eventually carry over into the restaurant experience.
