Maybe I didn't order the right dish from this place? I saw that they were one of the better menudo places in town. I made the trip down 12th Ave to try some. The restaurant is small and so is the parking lot. The inside appears to be a mom & pop owned business. The service was fast, friendly counter service. The menudo wasn't anything special. I got a lot more hominy than I did tripe. Good place overall, but probably won't make a special trip to eat there.

Parking was a breeze. Inside is clean and setup for takeout. Theres a small seating area out front. Jarrito's is the same owners for 44 years. There's some celebrity photos on the walls. Everyone I was greeted by was super friendly. My order is vegetarian. Potato, egg, cheese, and a smear of beans. They accommodated the bean shmear' to perfection. Their Tortilla has the right texture and everything else inside was tasty and delicious. The salsa's got some bite and is really good. It's an authentic Tucson spot. I'm connecting the burrito dots and Jarrito's is definitely worth your time and the drive.

Only chorizo and potatoes when I ordered and paid for chorizo, potato, egg, cheese and nopalitos.

I drove to the other side of town for some breakfast burritos and they were a total disappointment. See receipt: I paid $8.75 for a chorizo, egg and potato burrito. I also paid an extra $0.89 for cheese and $1.50 to add nopalitos. My burrito was only chorizo and potatoes. It was very dry, the tortilla was hard and overall a 1 star experience. My husband ordered the barbecoa and egg. Although it was better than mine, the barbacoa didn't have any flavor other than beef. Wouldn't recommend.

So Im visiting and asked a local from the Tucson area "Where can I get some authentic Mexican food around the airport area ". And .... this was one of two suggested open for breakfast and lunch I was greeted by the owner's son and he explained that this place has been around for over 40+ years also where the locals I seen were very friendly and expressed that they Grew up on this food he did such a good job explaining the menu .... it took me a small bit to decide on what to eat.. (everything sounded soooo delicious) So I got the Chicharrones con chile Colorado Chimichangas Combo and the Menudo y Pozole The food and service was awesome .... most definitely will be returning before returning back home.

Seriously the best nopales burrito I have ever had! The sauce on the enchiladas was the perfect spice and taste! The taco was cooked to perfection...that crunch unbelievable!! We grabbed some salsa and tortillas to go so we can snake later...SOOOOO delicious. The owner and staff are so friendly and the menu is priced right! I will be back again & again!!

    Birria burrito

Another one of the places I will remember as a really great authentic Mexican breakfast place with an excellent owner. Super fresh really flavors and someone behind the counter that cares and has excellent friendly service. Breakfast burritos with chorizo, egg and cheese with as much chorizo that you could barely see the egg. This is a place to come visit if your in town and if your local drive across town at least once a week

I think im at the spot

Spacious patio area, with cool lights, umbrellas, and many tables. If you have a choice and it isn't too hot, sit outside. The food is stellar! I got their ranch style flat enchilada, which is more or less a thick masa topped with enchilada flavors and spices. So yummy. (And it's vegetarian too!) The rest of the table (3 more) ordered the green chicken enchiladas. They didn't need to rave about it: their plates were completely clean at the end of the meal! We ordered Tamarindo and Horchata drinks between us, and frankly, the Tamarindo is some of the best I've ever had anywhere. Service can be a little slow, especially if they're busy. But we didn't really mind. It was a nice experience.

Their back patio looks super cute for warmer nights and the food was great. Little bit of a wait but the friendly servers got us sat as soon as possible at 7pm Saturday. Salsa and chips were tasty, the carne asada was excellent. The corn tortillas are thick and perfectly charred. The green enchiladas were good too. The sauce was thicker than usual, but that's probably the Native fusion instead of being just Mexican enchiladas. So glad we stopped in, we ate every bite. Forgot to take a picture until I was half through!

Honestly, I wish I could give Yaquesita a little more, maybe half a star more, because this place definitely has potential. Their flavors are good, but compared to similar restaurants the menu feels a bit overpriced. For a party of three we ended up paying around $100, which felt like a bit much for what we got. The restaurant itself is pretty small with only about 3-4 tables inside, but the patio is a decent size and has a cute vibe. It's actually a nice option on cooler days if you don't mind sitting outside. Some items were better than others. The wet-style burrito was delicious and definitely a highlight. The quesabirrias were good, however the birria felt more like fancier shredded beef. It was missing that rich, spicy, slightly acidic, earthy flavor that usually sets birria apart from barbacoa or traditional shredded beef dishes. The bowl was just okay and had lots of lettuce. It felt more like a salad with a bit of meat, rice, and beans. Honestly, Chipotle does bowls better, and that says a lot considering the price. The nachos were good, but I've had better. Seis Kitchen has amazing nachos to share. That said, it's definitely a place I'd come back to mainly out of convenience, not because one particular item on the menu won my heart. I really do hope they continue refining the menu because the flavors are there and this place could easily become a standout spot. Personally I just think at the total price of my ticket other restaurants should not even have room in my mind during my meal. If you're in the area and looking for a safe bet where everyone will probably find something they like, it's worth giving them a try.
