Today I went there with 5 others at 3pm. Ordered their Signature Dish (Los Gallos). Out of the 6 people in my party I was the only one who didn't get their meal. In the 90 minutes after they realized they had screwed up my order (gave it to someone else) they weren't able to make a replacement for me nor offer me something else. read more

WORST experience ever. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. The food was awful, restaurant was hazardously dirty and unsanitary, and my entire table got food poising from this place!! No way is this a real restaurant, and I will go so far as to say that it's probably a front for some disturbing illegal activity. I had Maria's Special; Chicken Enchiladas with Mole sauce. It was delicious. I had a special margarita which was also delicious. Food was served super quick. My 7 year old ordered the kids pizza and fries. The pizza was junk- as would be expected at a Mexican restaurant. However, the fries were fabulous. Took the leftovers home, threw them in the air fryer for dinner. Yum. I'm always intrigued by the cole slaw and chips. So good. read more

The food was nasty, I took one bite and instantly gagged, didn't eat it, had them take it back and asked to take it off my check. They only took $5 off for a $12.99 meal. I paid $13 for 1 drink that was $3.50, I don't recommend this place. The food and service sucks here and they're not very friendly. They messed up on my friend's food and drinks too. My friend ordered a frozen drink and they gave her the drink on the rocks. My other friend ordered a modelo and they gave him corona, and messed up on his food. Really disappointed and just an overall bad experience. read more

The service was fine until we asked the waitress (never gave us her name) if I could trade the shredded beef for ground beef. She gave us attitude and only changed my friend's order. The restaurant was not even busy. I asked another employee if I could get my order changed and she still did not come over or check on us. She threw my debit card down when paying. read more

Best part of the meal was the cole slaw and salsa. The food was very expensive. They used what appeared to be fake crab for seafood. The atmosphere was not good as the main hall is past the tables and they make no attempt to have a quiet meal. Kids and waiters are constantly travelling next to you. Was I yesterday and I asked to sit at the bar. Walking in was very dark and people were struggling to read the menu. The bar was a lot brighter. I sat and waited 10 mins before I was seen. Bartender was very friendly. My beer was ice cold. I asked before ordering a taco if it's freshly fried or store bought. She said they're fried fresh but when my taco came it was NOT fresh fried. I asked her about it and she said they fry them up in the morning. NO. That was absolutely a mass made El Paso shell. I sent it back and asked for a soft shell, I got a flour tortilla. The food here is decent, and the atmosphere is so-so, with screaming kids at the next table, and a trio that seemed to be rehearsing more than performing. the quesidilla I ordered was delicious, but the taco was just barely OK. What I can't see is $10.75 for a single shot of Scotch and some soda water!! Ridiculous!! Our server said the Scotch (Johnny Walker Black; NOT top-shelf by any means!) was $10, and the $.75 was for the soda. Who charges for water, which is all soda is-water that is charged with some co2. I come here to see my favorite bands quite often, and I love the food, and I've never had a bad server. My only complaint is about what happened the last two times I've come to have dinner and see a band. I was told that they don't take reservation, so I got here about 2 hours before the band started to get a premium table, only to be told that someone else had made reservations for those tables. read more

My favorite appetizer was changed to a dinner & they wouldn't do the appetizer. The Flan is now a sheet cake, it was old are hard, my dinner was incorrect they blamed the waitress by the time I got it the rest of my family was done. My family member and I stopped here while traveling through Ohio to get back to Pennsylvania. So we decided for a quick stop off of the highway. Los Gallos is a mediocre Mexican restaurant / sports bar. The menu is WAY too large. Our food was okay but not much bold flavor in anything. Beans were just a large mush with cheese thrown in the middle. Chimichanga was also over stuffed with cheese and your fixings on the side guacamole , sour cream lettuce etc. Although the hot chips and salsa was very delicious which are free before you get your meal. The service was okay and ambiance was fine. They also have an outdoor seating area available. Overall not a great experience if you just want something to throw in your stomach to get your ride over with. read more

This place has tried to copy the concept of the ultra-popular "Park Inn" of the 1970s through 1990s. The Park Inn introduced the "wet burrito" to Mahoning County and the idea of live music mixed with a Mexican cuisine. Los Gallos copied and highlights the wet burrito and the idea of a stage room adjacent to the dining area. The Park Inn food was outstanding and only the top local bands played there. The food at Los Gallos ranges from very poor to boringly substandard. It is understandable that they would try to copy the Park Inn concept that was successful for about 25 years, but everything falls flat on its face because the food is bad. I will give them credit for trying to re-popularize live music. Live music places like this died in the 1990s, but it is nice that they are giving it a try. read more

My family came in for dinner and ordered 4 entrees. We ordered 3 Chile relleno meals and 1 combo meal. The food came out in under 5 minutes which was super fast. Unfortunately, the food was very cold. Our food was returned to the kitchen and came back a second time. Two of the meals were fine but the third had unmelted cheese still in the center. At this point I'm losing my appetite but I waited. Third try the food came back and was presented with a brand new plate. Food was very hot but white cheese was not the same. Drove here from PA to see a Pittsburgh band play in their ballroom. The ballroom area is actually a great place for bands with tables, booths, its own bar & high top tables too. There is plenty of room for dancing & restroom conveniently located at the back. The servers were fine. Not overly attentive but did fine. Except for water refills. You get chips & salsa (a bit watery) for free when seated & also cole slaw (unless that was a mistake) which I thought was weird. Chips were fresh & crispy. I ordered a chicken quesadilla, but it didn't look like other quesadillas I've had. It was a giant tortilla folded in half & it was filled with a lot of shredded chicken which tasted fine, but it was all on the boring side. Maybe I picked the wrong thing. My children and I came to Los Gallos for the $12.99 lunch buffet that's heavily advertised on Facebook. They often go live with a video of all the food available. The descriptions and video make it seem like a great buffet. There were not many people at the restaurant and the atmosphere was very dark. There were many items missing from the buffet that are usually advertised, like wings. The taste of the food was very poor for most items and the food tasted old. The queso was a big glob and the chips were very stale. The only items that tasted decent were the guacamole, birria quesadilla, refried beans, and rice. No one ever came out to stir or refill food items on the buffet. There was shrimp sautéed in garlic butter that was rancid. I didn't realize that it was bad until I took a small bite and had to spit it out. Once I smelled what was on my plate, the smell was very fishy and rotten. Some of the plates on the buffet were not clean. The whole meal was disgusting and disappointing. Our server disappeared and did not check on us the entire time until we were finished with our food. I told him about the shrimp and the cleanliness of the plates. The shrimp really should have been discarded. He argued with me saying that the shrimp had been cooked that morning. However, I was trying to tell him that prior to it being cooked they used spoiled shrimp. He would not listen to my concerns or get a manager for me to speak with. He did not do anything to try to make things right or discount part of the meal. Unfortunately, we paid for the meal that was not worth $41 for the three of us. They also charge extra if you do not pay with cash. By the evening, I developed a very bad stomach ache. This place is not what it once was because they used to have some of the best Mexican food in the area. We will not be back. read more

This place is by far the best Mexican cuisine around. I had the "build your own" dinner with a burrito and two quesadilla's and it was absolutely fantastic. Not only is all the food delicious but the fountain drinks just... taste better... if that makes sense. Also, their straws are a perfect size. And their service? Fantastic! Driving by and decided to stop here and eat the service was excellent our server made recommendations that were excellent pina coladas spiked lemonades all yummy. Los Gallos is located on 224 and is relatively easy to get in and out, depending on the time of day. The environment is a bit above average from every other restaurant. The selection of food and drinks is massive with something for anyone. The staff all seemed relatively friendly at the host station, but the waitress was far below average. This was the reason for the low rating. She got drink orders and later took our orders. The entire time it was kind of awkward and she didn't bother checking on us. We didn't get refills and she made things feel uncomfortable. I'm sure she is a great person, but not today. read more

Went to see a band there. Nice room for a show. The food and drink on the other hand, was not so great. We sat ourselves at a table. I went to the bar to get 3 drinks. I ordered two well vodka drinks and a drink with grey goose. They came in little plastic cups that were mostly ice and cost $18 for one round. $5.25 for a well drink. Couldn't taste the alcohol. I had 4 and wasn't phased. While waiting for our server to bring menus we already drank the drinks I bought. I had my daughter go get us another round and they told her our server would be there to get our order. So she came back to the table drink less while we had to wait for an official server. We had cash in hand at the bar. Just make the drinks. We weren't in a hurry to eat. We ordered a variety of food. Stuffed jalapeños wrapped in bacon. They were so hot my daughter who loves hot food, couldn't eat them. She thought they used a different pepper. They didn't they just left a lot of seeds in the peppers. I got shrimp tacos. I thought they'd be grilled and they were based on the grill marks but they didn't taste grilled. Maybe they were grilled long enough so they weren't raw because to me, they were borderline undercooked and the blandest tacos I've ever had. No flavor whatsoever. Fried cheese was not good. Mostly breading. My friend didn't touch her two tacos. My daughter wasn't impressed with her burrito either. The beans and rice were good although could have been a little hotter (heat not spice) also got chicken wings which were ok. There wasn't hot water in the bathroom, something I have noticed at other restaurants around here. I'm sorry that's just gross because it makes me wonder if there is hot water in the kitchen. Are you so frugal you can't provide hot water for your customers? The service wasn't bad. Our server was also a bartender and she really did juggle it well. The food was brought out by the kitchen so she just had to deal with drinks. I did not wake up in the middle of the night for an unwanted colon cleanse so that is a plus in my book. read more

I went to Los gallos to see the Gary Markasky trio play. I had a beef taco my brother mark had shrimp tacos. Our other family members Laurie and Joey had the same. The good was good. The service was very slow to wait on mark and I. We were seated at a table so we finally got up and went to the bar to get ourselves a drink. We were able to drink our drinks before anyone came over to wait on us. Í would venture to say 15 minutes went by before someone asked if we wanted menus. Truthfully, I normally would never wait that long for service. But as I said we were here to see Gary. And Laurie and Joey had not arrived yet. The best part of the night was the band.
