The best place in Youngstown/Boardman to get authentic, SoCal/Mexican street tacos and burritos with all the fixings. My favorites are the carne asada and the chorizo, but I have sampled nearly everything and haven't had anything that wasn't delicious. It is also the ONLY place in town where you can get homemade tamales, with delicious fillings and flavorful perfect masa, steamed authentically in corn husks. The owners and employees are friendly and go out of their way to make sure you get what you want. Mexican Coca-Cola is a bonus. The only downside -- I can't give them more than 5 stars, but they deserve closer to 10. read more

I was in the area and this restaurant appeared on Yelp for restaurants nearby. I'm so glad this appeared because it was phenomenal! The chips were fresh including the tacos. The pork taco was my favorite probably due to my love for cilantro. The staff were awesome and friendly. The place was cozy and locally owned. read more

This is a basic little taco joint, but they make.some good tacos and burritos. I got an assortment, the colorado, the carne asada, and one other. They were well.seasoned and fresh. I prefer the corn shells fried, and.their guacamole was a bit watered down or runny. But overall very good. read more

This place is a joke. Not authentic. Tasteless. Bland. If you want Puerto Rican tacos this place is for you. I've never seen/eaten a burria taco made with NO CHEESE.... The taco shells are tasteless bland corn tortillas, disgusting. The ground meat was flavorless. Chipotle tacos are MUCH BETTER and more flavorful. And I hate chipotle. This place was a disappointment. read more

Norma's Casa de Tacos was amazing! The staff were friendly and super helpful with their recommendations. I got the fried pork taco, a chorizo taco. The chorizo taco was the best chorizo taco I have ate before! read more

They replaced a burrito bc lettuce was soggy w water and there was only about 1 tbsp of beans and rice each. It was sloppy and gross. So, as I said they replaced it w a new one. PROBLEM was the new was worse than original. So I opened it up n showed the male owner. He said they won't make me a new one again. I LEFT N NEVER WENT BACK. I used to go there a couple days or more per month. I haven't been there for over 1 yr n will never go back!! I give this place a ZERO. read more

I absolutely love this place. Their birria tacos are amazing and the staff is awesome. Their prices are good, and service is fast. Try this place out if you like Mexican food. read more

Best taco and burritos in the area. Highly recommend the carne asada burrito w green sauce. Roasted salsa is the best!

Continues to impress. Luckily they had the chicharrones this time. Always texturally pairs nicely with the softness of the burrito toppings. Tried the fish burrito before but that was soft on soft. read more

Been here 6+ times, haven't had anything I didn't like. Great Saturday afternoon lunch.

Really clean, good service. Food was great. Sauce was hot. Service was fast and accurate.

Birria tacos. I got the platter, comes with rice and beans. And three blistering hot flat top cooked corn tortilla wrapped beef cheek and onion and cilantro seasoned with a nice bowl of consommé on the side for dipping bit of deliciousness. I finished it. All these other places around here? Always goes home in a box and then into the trash. This place is the real deal!! Best in the area! (Sorry you can't recreate what you got in SoCal in mid-Ohio. To all you folks saying "whaaa") read more

Very good tacDefinitely 5 stars! My bf and I went there a couple times. I got tacos , he got a burrito,

The carne asada burrito served wet with the red homemade enchilada sauce is hands down one of the best I've had anywhere. In an area saturated with places to eat, go here, you won't regret it. read more

Our food was not served as described and was rather lacking in taste and was not hot. We will not be going back.

We are always looking for authentic Mexican food wherever we are. We decided to give Norma's a chance and the food did not disappoint. Selection was decent for a small take out restaurant and prices were very reasonable. Love that they have Mexican Coke in the bottle and it was cold. Service was great, as well. Definitely recommend for a quick and delicious meal. read more

Way too salty!!! Almost inedible. There is some flavor there if they had some way to cut back on the salt. read more

So this hidden Gem is Just that. Start off with the freshest chips not salty perfect sized and the flavor was amazing. Guacamole I suggest the large one to share its very smooth and full of flavor. This bar far is the best I have ever had. Homemade salsa will not disappoint full of fresh ingredients and smelled as amazing as it tasted. It was an enjoyable start to an amazing lunch. We both had tacos . I had 2 my friend had 3. The quality and freshness was beyond Wow. The lettuce had its crunch and the cheese was a nice addition. The Sour Cream was not heavy and the perfect topping for the taco. They had a side taco sauce we chose mild. It was smooth it that makes sense it complimented the tacos. There is an area to sit and dine. Take out also available. This by far is my New Favorite Place. I am excited to try different things next time, although I think I might just want my tacos in a soft shell rich with flavor and decent portion size. I am beyond happy with the food. The place is very clean and the staff all smiling. This is a hidden Gem of a Place. Reasonable prices and Fresh Fresh Food. The food piping hot and super fresh. Presentation was excellent. 1 taco had a double soft shell I saw the reason why as I ate it it needed the extra support. Quite the full taco. Hidden in a plaza in my town for years and today I tried for the first time based on a friend's Facebook review of the place. I am excited to go back. Might have to soon. read more

Norma's Casa de Tacos - Menu - Mexican Near Me - Youngstown, Ohio

This might be the closest you will get to authentic Mexican cuisine. It's a mom and pop place run by the owner and her husband. It's fast casual. I generally get their chicken enchiladas, but everything I have gotten there has been on point and delightful. read more

First off, I've lived in Texas near the border of Mexico and I've lived in L.A. I've eaten a lot of tacos, a lot of tacos. This is the best Mexican food in the area by a mile, I have never had a bad experience. Prices everywhere have gone up because cost of ingredients and labor but I find their prices reasonable. The owners are great people and always have a nice word. I appreciate the work they put in to have a taqueria in ohio. Previous reviewer said it didn't live up to the hype and she would know, after all she's from "SoCal" and must be an expert. read more

Sadly this place hasn't lived up to the hype for me. As someone who is from SoCal and knows real Authentic Mexican food from family and friends, this was disappointing as people are labeling traditional taqueria-ish Mexican restaurant. I will say it was overpriced as far as what I ordered. The chicken tortilla soup was pretty good and price ok. I also ordered the birria tacos which were 3 birria tacos for almost $12 dollars, and came with Consommé. I was so excited when I opened the togo box because it looked delicious but I was completely disappointed after one bite in. It honestly lacked so much flavor, and the consommé reminded me of pho broth more then a traditional rich birria consommé. Staff wasn't that friendly either which was kinda sad. read more

I have to say that I am quite surprised to find Norma's Casa de Tacos in the middle of Ohio in Youngstown, one of the rustbelt cities (as someone told me). Now after in living SoCal for 16 years, I've had some authentic mex tacos. Norma's Casa de tacos really hit the spot in that it reminded me of home. For the fact that this place exists in youngstown, i highly recommend you try this place. At first I only one taco 2.99 to see what it tastes like. After having the first one, I literally got up and ordered two more haha and inhaled it. I believe there is a 3 tacos for $8.35 deal (see menu picture i posted). Highly recommended! read more

I get the bean and cheese burrito platter and it's always delicious! Owners are very kind too.

This is the most authentic, excellent Mexican food you are going to get in Youngstown. It is phenomenal and the people are very friendly.

Best I've had since leaving San Antonio, very authentic and tasteful. Couldn't recommend higher.

Service was good. However, the food was just meh. Ordered a soft taco and taco salad The taco was flat tortilla and the taco salad was lettuce, pico de gallo, cheese, sour cream and a few chips. Not sure I will return unless someone tells me the food is better. read more

The best. Hands down. The staff is so awesome, and the food is amazing. This was my first time, can't wait to go back!!!

Pretty good renditions of authentic Mexican food. I'm from SoCal and I don't agree that this place is "the best" but considering the alternatives, happy to have it around. read more

The best place for tacos and burritos in the Youngstown area. They have a variety of taco fillings and sauces. They have rice, beans, guacamole. The chili Colorado and chorizo are my favorite, however every thing I have tried has been delicious. Everything is fresh, made to order and the staff is always friendly. This is a small place in a strip mall, you order at the counter and there is limited seating, so as long as you do not have expectations of a full service Mexican restaurant with dozens of menu items you won't be disappointed read more

This is the most authentic tacos place you'll find in the Youngstown, Ohio area. Their tacos are comparable in taste and quality to what you'll find all over Southern California. Prices are very reasonable. It's a simple family owned place. If you looking for maracas and sombreros on the wall go someplace else. They're about good quality food and not the fan fare. The slow roaster seasoned pork taco was amazingly good. read more

This is truly a hidden gem in Boardman! As soon as you enter, you're bombarded with delicious smells that make your mouth water. The staff are friendly and quick with making your order. The owner Jerry is often there, smiling and chatting with customers, all while working as hard as anyone else in the kitchen. Their birria tacos are tender and juicy. The taco salad was quite enjoyable as well, with generous chunks of chicken and lots of various vegetables. Everything is very reasonably priced. Be careful ordering a full side of chips and salsa - they'll bring you a soup bowl's worth of salsa and a big paper boat of chips! A half order is plenty. XD This has quickly become one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Mahoning County. read more

Always delicious, never disappointed. Great tacos, huge burritos, delicious salsas. The service is fast and the staff is friendly. The hours are a little strange, I always find myself wanting to go here when they are closed. It's not fancy but there is plenty of places to sit inside. Parking lot out front. Their tamales are great as well. Highly recommend! read more

This place has probably the most legit Mexican food we have been able to find in Western Pa/Eastern Ohio. My wife is a San Diego transplant and definitely wants to come back. Reminds me of home (not that I miss LA, because I don't). I'm a born and raised Hispanic Los Angeles transplant now living in Western Pennsylvania, who now has a place to go to to relive and enjoy the tacos that I grew up on. Very good tacos indeed. I ordered the asada, machaca and pork tacos. Double wrapped with warm fresh corn (and moist) tortillas. Generous meat portions topped with cilantro and onions. Other tacos in my area are dry. These were moist and juicy. I shall return. read more
