Sadly this place hasn't lived up to the hype for me. As someone who is from SoCal and knows real Authentic Mexican food from family and friends, this was disappointing as people are labeling traditional taqueria-ish Mexican restaurant. I will say it was overpriced as far as what I ordered. The chicken tortilla soup was pretty good and price ok. I also ordered the birria tacos which were 3 birria tacos for almost $12 dollars, and came with Consommé. I was so excited when I opened the togo box because it looked delicious but I was completely disappointed after one bite in. It honestly lacked so much flavor, and the consommé reminded me of pho broth more then a traditional rich birria consommé. Staff wasn't that friendly either which was kinda sad. read more

This is the best Mexican food in the area by a mile, I have never had a bad experience. Prices everywhere have gone up because cost of ingredients and labor but I find their prices reasonable. I have to say that I am quite surprised to find Norma's Casa de Tacos in the middle of Ohio in Youngstown, one of the rustbelt cities (as someone told me). Now after in living SoCal for 16 years, I've had some authentic mex tacos. Norma's Casa de tacos really hit the spot in that it reminded me of home. For the fact that this place exists in youngstown, i highly recommend you try this place. At first I only one taco 2.99 to see what it tastes like. This is truly a hidden gem in Boardman! As soon as you enter, you're bombarded with delicious smells that make your mouth water. The staff are friendly and quick with making your order. The owner Jerry is often there, smiling and chatting with customers, all while working as hard as anyone else in the kitchen. Their birria tacos are tender and juicy. The best place in Youngstown/Boardman to get authentic, SoCal/Mexican street tacos and burritos with all the fixings. My favorites are the carne asada and the chorizo, but I have sampled nearly everything and haven't had anything that wasn't delicious. It is also the ONLY place in town where you can get homemade tamales, with delicious fillings and flavorful perfect masa, steamed authentically in corn husks. The owners and employees are friendly and go out of their way to make sure you get what you want. Mexican Coca-Cola is a bonus. The only downside -- I can't give them more than 5 stars, but they deserve closer to 10. read more
