This is what I would call a neighborhood resturant. It is located in a shopping center alone, but a car shop is next door and I believe they use the same parking lot. You are always greeted by someone friendly and seated immediately as I have never seen them really busy. I go back for the crisp chips and perfect salsa as well as the great margaritas! I have tried a few things and everything has been pretty good. I love that they have chicken nuggets for kids because every time we go my niece only wants chicken nuggets instead of a quesadilla. I have a craving for them at least once a week so we know where I will be sometime this week. read more

The salsa is homemade with a slight Smokey flavor, the green sauce is just as good. The staff is super friendly, even on Christmas Eve, as tons of people come in to pickup their orders. My glass was never below half full, food came out in minutes, hot and perfect. Don't sleep on this mom and pop restaurant in a tucked away corner. read more

My family has been going to Los Faroles for 10 years. We've never had to wait for a table but the restaurant is always busy, especially on weekend nights. The service is fast and friendly. As typical, they serve chips and salsa immediately, and they are warm and fresh. My husband and I always order Fajitas Ryan. The flour tortillas are home made, and don't let the jalapeños scare you away if you don't like them. I'm not a fan of spicy food and these are just fine-i think they are diced so small that they are barely noticeable. The margaritas are also good-both frozen or on-the-rocks. I used to order their skinny margarita but it only comes in a large size-which makes no sense-if you are bothering to order a skinny margarita normally you want a small, right? Now I just throw caution to the wind and order a regular. My son likes to order quesadillas-usually mixed chicken and beef. He's a teenage boy but a regular size fills him up. The restaurant is in a quiet strip center that almost looks questionable and the windows are darkened so you can't see the light from the outside, but one you open the door, everything comes to life. The deco is nice and there are quite a few TVs showing whatever sport is playing. All in all, it's a good family restaurant with consistently good food and service. read more

I pass by this place all the time but I've never had the urge to eat there until recently. I finally visited and it was better than I expected it to be. I had the large portion of the fajita quesadillas with a side or rice and beans. It was all LOVELY!! My husband had enchiladas and although he said that they were good, he was disappointed that the dish was small. What i did not enjoy was the salsa. . .for some reason it tasted burned and I really didn't like it. My husband said it was fine. IDK. . .any way. We'll be back for more. read more

We're so glad this restaurant is still able to operate during COVID. When we come to visit the in-laws in Cypress, we can't head back to Dallas without grabbing dinner at Los Faroles! First - shout out to the fried/stuffed avocado!! I dream about this delicious meal! A crispy outer layer stuffed with cheese and grilled chicken. A whole masterpiece. Second - the frozen house margaritas, specifically the "Ryan." They throw in an extra shot of tequila to the margs, some of the best in town. Third - The tres leches. I could eat this and only this dessert for dinner and sleep happy. Goodness gracious. The rich texture and sweet flavors blend so beautifully together, you throw away all self control when eating this cake. Fourth - It's a hole in the wall family owned biz right next to my husbands childhood neighborhood. It brings the whole family joy to visit here. I came hear on a whim after work on a Friday night. I've passed by this Mexican restaurant thousands of times over the years and have never came by to try their food. I was definitely in a Margarita mood after the way the week went at work. Plus they had the Astros playing! #takeitback I ordered their shrimp tacos on flour tortillas with charro beans and their house margarita. I can't convey enough how amazing the flavors were on these tacos. The tortillas were homemade and fresh, the chipotle cream sauce was bomb and to add the cherry on top.. the margarita hit that very needed spot. Service was great! Miralo Los Faroles!!! This place has great atmosphere and amazing servers, however, their food always comes out half cooked. My first time I had order to go caldo de rez when I arrived home and open it the meat was pink!! I didn't dare to eat it it. I decided to give it another try. This time I dined in and we order two chicken/beef fajitas plates the chicken was also semi pink... we asked the waitress if they could cook it more which they did and the difference was noticeable. It's a little neighborhood Mexican restaurant. Find mom and pop here with the kids on the weekend and dad gets to enjoy a nice margarita, maybe. The bar isn't so great but they do have a full bar. Small little patio. Very typical casual Mexican restaurant. I had some tacos and the home made tortillas were probably the thing I enjoyed the most. Nothing exciting about the chips and salsa. I swing by here every now and then since I live nearby. Check in and get a free soda. Place gets pretty packed so people do like it. I definitely like it a lot more than the last Mexican restaurant I went to. I did see Mezcal on the shelf so I might be back more often now. read more

I went to eat lunch here and I ordered my food, the service was horrible, the waiters never returned to check if I needed anything and barely made eye contact with me. There were people sat next to me and the waiter would check if they needed anything but totally ignored my table. When it was time for me to pay, I told the manager what happened and I expected at least an apology but he also ignored me, the waiters were also next to him and they just laughed at us. Overall the food was okay but the ambiance was horrible and made us feel ignored, I don't recommend coming here. read more

I used to come to Los Faroles quite oftenit was close to my home and convenien, but with what I was served today was awfu. I ordered fajitas, chicken & beef both tasted like it was boiled not charred! I also ordered a beef burrito if you want to call it that! It was really a bean burrito. Are times getting so hard that you need to cut corners and cheat the paying customers? They will never ever see another dime of mine! If there were a -0 it would be well deserved! read more

I took my whole Family to go eat out for my mother's birthday. Once we got the bill, there was an extra charge of $15.00 for each adult on the table (5 people). as a tip for the waitress, which attend us poorly. I believe this was unfair because we would have wanted to tip out of generosity not out of force. Bad experience, not the best Mexican food. read more

I really wanted to like this place because it's so close to home however I was sadly disappointed in the overall experience. We ordered the fajitas for 2 which the meat seemed flavorless and bland. We added lime and some salt to it which made it alright. The tortillas were probably the only thing I enjoyed at this restaurant. Even the salsa lacked flavor. The older gentleman who sat us seemed nice. Our waitress seemed a bit preoccupied although we were literally her only customers. First time here. The place is nicely decorated and the staff is nice but nothing spectacular. I gave it a 4stars because they put a lot of vegetables to make up for not having enough meat(shrimp). If you have the Pechuga Chilango and don't need a cigarette after then you are dead. It is all we ever get. And we split it. I am sure everything else on the menus is awesome, but why risk it. Staff is always friendly and Johnny on the spot. Ask to talk to owner Francisco or his son Francisco JR they will make you feel at home. Seriously folks this is my third update. Faroles is always good. It's our go to local Mexican restaurant. Great fajitas, everything is good.

Manager rude, we ordered on door dash and for the second time in a week items were missing, when we called to get the issue resolved they quickly blamed the driver and yelled at my wife over the phone and hanged up on us, most recently the items were closed in aluminum container and did not seem like they were tampered with, but opening the fajita container it only had two strips of beef, and a full item missing but the bag was not sealed and they never did come sealed. They've usually been good but we're a bit off today. Took a while to take our order - 5+ minutes to ask about drinks and, after telling them that we were ready to order ("we'll get your server"), we waited several minutes more. We ordered a jumbo mango margarita but were instead brought a regular (non-mango) margarita. The mango margarita was on special, so we were actually charged an extra 55 cents for their error there. Not huge...but still, mis-served & mischarged both. We didn't bother to complain about either. The positives - Our food actually came out faster than our order was taken (it was the night's special I guess, but it still surprised me). It was a combo fajitas. Lots of food and pretty good. 1 more negative- I ran out of water twice over the meal (there was a lot of ice, so less than 1/2 the cup was water and it was easy to do), the 2nd time it never was filled again. So the food was good but the service tonight was definitely off. Usually they do better so I'll round up to a 4 assuming it's just an off-night. read more

Not authentic enough for my taste . The chips and salsa they start you off with aren't all that . The chips could use some salt and the salsas are not at all spicy . They have this over powering taste of something but I can't put my finger on it. I ordered a chicken chimichanga which taste pretty good and the rice that came with it was good too the beans not so much . They were like can beans. The rest of my party ordered nachos ( chicken and beef fajita and ground beef nachos all three separate plates ) and you get about 6 nachos per order . I won't be stopping by again read more

Came here for lunch and was not impressed. Most of the lunch dishes were closer to $10 while most other restaurants have specials closer to $5. That being said their salsas are bland and their chicken fajitas were dry. Over all the food was a three. What really got to me was the apathetic server. Man I understand that customer service isn't the best job (I've been there) but do it with a smile. The server wasn't rude but nowhere near polite. Did not feel welcome at all. read more
