WORST DENTAL EXPERIENCE EVER! My dentist, Dr. Sherman, "relocated" to Los Coches Dentistry however I had no idea she was retiring and transferring her practice until I showed up for my appointment with her and had an appointment with Victoria Nguyen Le, DDS (THE WORST DENTIST EVER). I had one tooth that was, and still is, extremely sensitive to heat and cold. Not only did she say she could take care of that but she told me there were four other teeth that needed the same procedure. She said it would be partially covered by insurance. Not only was it not covered by insurance, my tooth is still extremely sensitive! I have spent many phone calls, emails and letter writing to Los Coches Dentistry to try and have them provide additional documentation to my insurance. I sent a message to Dr. Neff who owns the clinic, and he did not respond to me. Additionally, the services that Dr. Le provided to me were billed to my insurance under my former dentist DR. Sherman. I have let my insurance company know this information and my insurance company and I are filing a formal grievance with the Dental Board of California and the BBS. I'm out $1500 out of pocket. To top it off, Victoria Nguyen Le, DDS, no longer works there. I have two family members and many friends who have had the same experience because they too, we're seeing Dr. Sherman who did us a grave disservice. If needed, I will attach my email correspondences with this clinic to back up what I am saying. read more

Your fill in dentist so rude and condescending as well as your office manager Gilda, which I have tolerated her attitude in the past was over the top today. The experience my son and I had today was just too much. I can no longer recommend your office due to the people you have working for you. The people you hire represent you and when they talk down and condescending to your patients is not a good thing for your business. Perhaps a meeting on customer service is in order. read more

The management in this establishment is unprofessional. I was scheduled for 4/14/25 after clearing my schedule I was notified via a late night text with less then 24 hour notice, and no professional explanation to please not show up. This office has no consideration of others valuable time. I wouldn't trust this establishment's management to offer professionalism to their patients. read more

Dr. Neff was fine but not gentle when working on my husband. I'm frustrated that his team did not BOTHER to tell us our 100% insurance plan was out of network, so we got sent an unexpected $213 bill! When I called to complain, no one bothered to return my call nor explain why were weren't told about the fact that he was out of network and our 100% coverage would only be 50%. What a disappointment. Do yourself a favor and find a company that is honest and upfront about fees and insurance coverage. read more

First time patient, terrible experience. I never even saw the dentist because the scheduler messed up everything. I made my appointment about a month in advance and called multiple times to ensure that they had verified my insurance. At my job, we verify insurance the same day that someone makes an appointment in order to avoid a scene like the one I am about to describe. I had even stopped into the office to check on the insurance, but apparently they are only physically in the office on select days. I received a call back and was told not to worry. I showed up to my appointment at 9 am on a Saturday and was told that I wasn't even in their system! After having a mild freak out, they finally found my info and said that they had called me and left a message that they do not accept my insurance. I never received any messages, and when I verified the phone number they had on file, it was incorrect, even though they had returned my calls multiple times in the preceding month. Needless to say, I was furious, mostly because they acted like they had no idea who I even was and like it was the strangest thing that I said I had an appointment that day. Get your scheduling together so patients don't waste their time showing up to an appointment that apparently doesn't exist. read more

I work at forum shops Carlsbad & I picked it cause of being right there & instead of them working with your schedule..the dentist wanted you to come when they wanted you to come in...the staff was not nice & saying this week is not good please calls us back again when you know what day you could come in.it would've been better..on my days off I could go somewhere more near to where I live.. read more

Unless you are okay with paying entirely out of pocket and you like being surprised by additional charges after the fact do not use Dr. Neff. My wife went in when her tooth cracked, and they did a build up and crown. Charged a significant amount and billed the rest to insurance. Shortly after we got a call from their office saying that we didn't have any insurance benefits left for the year and asking us when the last time we had work done, which had not been for several years, so we had the full benefit left. As it turned out, after I started getting notices from my insurance about it, they did not turn in x rays or other things required by the insurance. After several months of getting explanation of benefits from the insurance, all of which saying we did not owe money to the dentist, we got a bill stating that we owed the dentist more money and that it was already 60 days over due on the first notice that we got. Their office apparently does not know how to communicate with the insurance and when they don't do their paper work right they come after you for more money. read more

I came in today for the first time for a routine cleaning with Dr. Mudgett and had a great experience with him and his staff. I am new to the neighborhood and found him on yelp after reading wonderful reviews about him. The office itself is brand new and warm and welcoming at the same time. The actual cleaning was very fast yet thorough and extremely painless. Dr. Mudgett is very personable and friendly and instantly makes you feel at ease. I have been to many dentists throughout my life and I have to say that Dr. Mudgett is one of my favorite. His front office team are the best- super sweet and extremely organized and stay on top of me for my appointments. Los Coches Dentistry used to be good before they outgrew their ability to provide quality dental care. I complained about the continuing issue I had but they only cared about the $$. Over 2yrs I witnessed their decline and now have recurring issues because of Dr Neff's poor attention/care. Onward to a dentist who still cares about providing high quality care. read more

Dr. Neff is an excellent dentist. He takes the time to explain the plan of care. He has excellent bedside manners and is extremely attentive to his patient's needs. I am not good at going to the dentist, not because of the pain or the fact that it may be uncomfortable, but because I always doubt their intentions... I feel like they will want to sell me something.. Not this place. They are wonderful!!! Fast, friendly and knowledgeable. So far, I have found them to be very trustworthy and to the point. No selling, just good old dentistry... Of course, and it helps that they have the latest technology, I love it!!! I can actually see a picture of my tooth, not an x-ray... besides the x-rays, they take actual photos!!!! so you can really see that they are not pulling your leg!!!!! My family just started coming to Los Coches Dentistry and I couldn't be more pleased. The office is beautiful and immaculately clean. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and Dr. Neff is top notch. I never felt like he was trying to sell me treatment I didn't need. My son recently had to have two baby teeth extracted and he was very nervous. When we got to the office the assistant took him to the back and let him pick a channel on the tv to watch. He immediately calmed and spent the entire appointment watching cartoons with headphones on. The next day (a Sunday) Dr. Neff called me to check and see how my son was feeling. How many dentists do you know that are open on Saturdays and make calls to their patients on a Sunday?! I am now sending all my family and friends to Dr. Neff!! Highly recommend him! read more

I haven't seen more unprofessional dentists than those who work there. They try to save time giving you very bad and not thorough cleaning. Dr. Mudgett is slightly better, but his hands are shaky and he tries to tell you some nonsense about very obvious things. But Dr. Neff is the one you really want to avoid. He forgets to put on his face mask, so you can enjoy all his spits. He doesn't hesitate to ignore your complaints. He will never admit that he screwed up. And he has extremely unpleasant ice cold hands. The receptionist answers calls every other day, so don't even think to get a reply on Friday. In general, very poor experience, need to find another dentist ASAP. read more
