I never feel like I'm getting pressured into a treatment that i don't want or need. Karen and Karina who work up front are always so kind and friendly. Originally i was coming to CDA for regular teeth cleaning. But a few years ago i decided to make the investment in myself and get Invisalign. The in-house orthodontist, Dr. Saper told me that traditional braces would get me the best results. But because i was insistent on Invisalign he promised to get me the best possible results if i was patient enough to go through the process. I was and he did. 2.5 yrs later (some delays due to pandemic) and I am SO pleased with my results. Justin was the ortho assistant who worked with me through out my entire treatment. He knew pretty much knew my entire dental history and was a great advocate for me when i had to see some specialists. I have since referred my entire family to this office.

My husband came to this office for a consult for tooth pain in an upper right molar. An…read moreendodontist (Dr. In-Ho Kwon) took a CT scan, saw him and did some testing on the tooth. Finding nothing amiss, told us that he could see nothing wrong there, but "could do a root canal if you want it." We were really disturbed by that, but the real problem was less than two months later when my husband went back to our regular dentist with tooth pain in the lower left molar that opposed the one that was examined by Dr. Kown. My husband had by then developed a very nasty infection in the root and needed an emergency root canal. Our dentist said that the earlier pain on the opposing tooth was probably referred pain from the infection that had been brewing when we saw Dr. Kwon, and that it isn't uncommon for this to happen. Why didn't Dr. Kwon's office think to do a scan and examination of the opposing infected tooth if referred pain is common and he couldn't find anything wrong with the above tooth??? And why would he say that he could do a root canal on the non-infected tooth "if you want it"??? Sounds awfully suspicious...And the biggest insult was that we were charged $412 (which would have been $824 if not for dental insurance) - for a consult and a CT scan of the wrong tooth. When we finally had to have the emergency root canal done two months later our insurance benefits had run out and we had to pay a full $2300 at a different (MUCH BETTER) endodntist (Dr. Malin at Carlsbad Village Endodontics). I would absolutely never return to Carlsbad Dental Associates.

I believe the dental care was adequate, however, I always left a little disconcerted with a few issues: 1. hurried through my appointments/greeted me from behind the chair and started treatment. 2. substandard pre and post treatment patient teaching. 3. on multiple occasions Dr. Hariri spoke in a condescending tone to his assistants. 4. my last appointment involved an appt. at 8:00 am for an extraction, and at 8:35a when I asked how much longer it would be, Dr.Hariri exhibited irate,disrespectful, and unprofessional behavior towards me in the hallway with staff present. This is not acceptable in any provider/patient situation, let alone in the real world.

She did an exam and did X-rays and made notations in my chart that tooth #4 needed watching. She took a 3 month sabbatical and then sold her practice to Dr Wong. I started seeing Dr Wong in late January/February of this year 2026 and went in for a cleaning & he said I needed a crown on bottom R. As he prepped me for the crown on my lower R halfway through this process he said the adjacent tooth looked like it needed a crown also. My new dental insurance allowed 2 major procedures per year and he quickly used my insurance and I told him this after the crowns were in place and he replied the next time I come in he' needed to work on tooth which had decay. After having had sinus surgery September 2025 I knew that there was definitely a communication between upper L molar tooth #14 and this was causing the sinus infection that I had for over one year and the sinus infection was not clearing despite months of antibiotics. By this time I was having pain in soft tissue around tooth #14. I made an appointment in June 2026 to have this tooth worked on and shortly later the dental assistant started to prep tooth #4 on upper right! I was shocked and upset and told her this is not the tooth that has been bothering me and I need to see Dr Wong immediately. The assistant apologized this was a typo and tooth to be worked on is #14 and not #4. Dr Wong started to work on this tooth & upon removal of its crown dark viscous fluid emerged indicating an infection for some time. He removed as much decay as he could and said he could do another crown, but he didn't think it would last more than a year or two if I wanted to proceed. OMG! I was shocked! This decayed tooth already had created an opening into my sinus yet he asked if I wanted another crown. I told him NO! He sent me to two oral surgeons one of whom doesn't accept my dental insurance. When I asked him about the mixup with #4 vs #14 he said he treated me no differently than how he treats all his patients. I do not recommend this dentist! If he haphazardly treats all his dental clients as he treated me by ignoring a painful tooth and choosing to work on other teeth before processing the real tooth in need I have to say do not go to this dentist. There's a lack of communication, professional conduct, and trust.

Dr Raven is very warm, friendly and detail oriented. I was really grateful when she helped me with my dental implant screw. She's a very good listener and addressed all my concerns and fixed the issue that day and it's been perfect since. Also, the cleaning she did was very thorough and gentle. Felt like the best cleaning I've ever had. The dental assistants/hygienists are all so nice as well. Super kind, sweet and easy to talk to. While this doesn't seem to be a 100% biological dentist since they offer fluoride for those who want it - we do still enjoy the quality of care here and I love that the office is always very clean. After my first filling was done, none of my retainers fit anymore and my bite was completely off causing pain and bothering me throughout the day. He tried to get me to accept more cavity work but I was concerned more damage would happen. I got a second opinion and my new dentist said there was no cavities, everything was fine, and said be careful of unethical people trying to make money which I fell for.
