Interior of Los Chingones

Los Chingones translates to "the badasses" which is an odd name for this inviting and friendly Mexican place. We Stopped in for an early lunch and what a great decision. From the tacos al pastor to the quesadillas, the food was just right. Of course as the first diners of the day, the service was super - but our server was great (despite a language barrier mixup on one order). If you find yourself near the FIU campus this shopping center restaurant is a great find. Comfortable, with some soft Mexican pop playing in the background. And did I mention: portions and prices were very reasonable.

Food was a bit pricey but affordable. For its cost it was good, I ordered the enchiladas and they were delicious!! Service was very punctual and the ambiance set the tone they had live music!!

$5 for a side of cheese!!

Food was good but not worth the price. I've never been to a place that charges $5 for a side of cheese. I understand some places charges extra but $5 for cheese is insane and the waitress didn't even tell me. The restaurant itself is a little pricey and isn't all that. The food was good but nothing crazy. I went by myself it was barely full and the waitresses took forever after serving me for another drink and my check they barely even approached me. Gratitude was already included as well and on top of paying with a card I was charged an additional $2 that was not on my check. If you want to be scammed this is the place. Food and drinks isn't bad just ridiculous prices and slow service.

Really good environment of this small restaurant located in the shopping center next to the movie theater. We had seen it multiple times before entering the theater and today we decided stop by. First of all I LOVE the music they play on the TV .I love Mexican music and I had a great time listening to my favores artist while eating. We ordered the esquites , a passion fruit margarita and for our main dishes my husband ordered a steak quesadilla he said it was very flavorful and cheese. I had the pastor tacos which came with pineapple(which I love ) and I ask for onions and cilantro of course. Our waitress was very welcoming and friendly. The margarita was huge, my husband and I shared it .

We always go to the movies next door and one day after the movies we were hungry and it was kind of late so we just went next door. Honestly I would have not chosen this place just by the look outside, but we were pleasantly surprised by our experience here. The waitress and staff were friendly and efficient. There was even a singer and nice music. There were some birthdays group and they had a fun ambience for singing happy birthday. The drinks were very good and we enjoyed the guacamole with the extra surprise. We shared a fajita and we had more than plenty it was very good, but next time I'll try another dish. My son ordered a chicken quesadilla and he really enjoyed it. Overall I will be back, most likely after a movie. But yes, do not expect real authentic Mexican because it is not, but it is fun and tasteful.

Great authentic Mexican food. The staff were extremely courteous and service-full. They offer live music (karaoke), which made the ambience entertaining.

I was drawn to Los Chingones from an Instagram Reel. I drove from Pembroke Pines on a busy Friday night where I stepped in live music being played inside the restaurant. Service was fine and food was good, but nothing to drive too far for. Nonetheless I'm happy I went and tried it as I'm always looking to explore restaurants in Miami.

Came here for the first time for my brothers bday- immediately felt the ambiance of a family restaurant- the staff was soooo nice and truly made you feel welcomed I can't remember our waitress name but she was so sweet and professional she had beautiful long black hair! The food tasted authentic- you must try the queso fundido, elote and guac Honestly everything was delicious Loved the drinks super strong And the lemonade was perfect They had a mariachi which was amazing It gets really packed so I recommend reserving!

Super friendly waiters and an amazing kitchen make this restaurant a great experience every time you come here. The menu isn't big but it truly has everyone's favorite dishes. Tacos, sopes, enchiladas, mole and many, many more. The key is everything is made fresh daily. The al pastor tacos, green enchiladas, birria and the mole sauce are all incredibly delicious. Try their micheladas and also the spicy margaritas (both super good). The restaurant ambiance is very cozy and inviting. Its simple but nicely decorated. Give it a try.

We showed up around 3pm on a Sunday and waited about 30 minutes, which felt fair once we realized how small and cozy the place is. Seating is limited, so a bit of patience helps. The food delivered--everything was solid--and the service moved along at a nice pace without feeling rushed. The only real headache? Parking. It's pretty tight and can take some circling to snag a spot. All in, a really enjoyable lunch and definitely worth a return visit... maybe just with a parking strategy next time.

We went here between January 27 & February 6/2026. La Potranca has five Florida locations, but this cantina does not feel like a chain. Authentic sabor Mexicano with an excellent friendly staff. Family friendly & handi-able accesible from the parking lot. This location gets full by 7pm but there is extended service & seating in the common covered courtyard. Plenty of parking in this strip mall location. Service is excellent, fast, & great choices of tacos & drinks. You can choose from 14 different meats/cuts for your tacos, including birria & al pastor. Bow to the taco! Also gringas, vampiros, & burritos. They have bowls (they're BIG) & brunch. p.s. try the churros with 3 dipping sauces. Drinks are extra special here. The clamato & beer cocktail is very unique. Served in a Tajin rimmed large mug, with lime & a tamarind wrapped straw. Excellante! Also a variety of margaritas served in whimsical glasses & their three house cervazas (beers) on draft. La Potranca pays homage to iconic singer & actor Vincente Fernandez "King of Ranchera". Check out the interesting connection with the staff or online. The staff here is excellent. Very helpful when navigating the menu. Very friendly. True professionals. Special shout out to Mauricio & Ralphael - you hombres make this place truly special. Mucho Gracias. We give La Potranca our highest recommendation. The hardest part about dining here was deciding what I wanted to order. I could have ordered the entire menu it looked so good! Helpful tip... check out the menu and know what you're going to order before you get in line. Otherwise you're going to be pressured to order at the front of the line. When you walk in, you place your order and pay for it and take a table number. You need to find your own table. Our service was pretty quick, despite how busy the restaurant was. My cold brew was very good and a nice start to the meal. Our guacamole came next and it was nicely styled with pomegranate, cheese and cilantro on top. Yum! The real star of the show for me was this unassuming looking House Club Sandwich that was to die for. Seriously ... it was so good. I ordered mine without the ham, and it was divine! I wish i lived closer. I'm already dreaming of coming back. My son ordered some kind of short rib/beef burrito and it disappeared so quickly I didn't even get to snap a photo. This is a perfect spot to enjoy a great meal, I highly recommend it. One thing I can say is that it's on the pricey side. $113 lunch for 2 added up super fast but it was well worth it. I'll be dreaming of that sandwich til my next visit!

I ordered the mahi mahi tacos, and while they tasted ok, the portion size felt pretty small for the price. Overall, it came across as a bit overpriced for what you get. The service style is more casual and self-directed. You order and pay at the register, get a number, and then find your own seat while they bring the food out to you. Water is self-serve, and once you're done with your meal, you just head out. There's minimal interaction with staff, which might appeal to people who prefer a more low-key, independent dining experience or want a place to sit and work without being interrupted. That said, the service did not feel very friendly or welcoming. And personally, I left feeling a bit underwhelmed.

My order was a very generous plate of chicken fajitas, with red refried beans and grilled veggies. Amplified by the salsa & pico, it was well flavored and sizeable enough that it can be had for takeout. As far as something, sweet, I had their batido de trigo (puffed wheat shake). Having stayed till closing of two music week events the prior to evenings, this was in my mind a great recovery meal. The menu said that they had alcohol, but apparently not on that week, supposedly for some bureaucratic issue. The tacos were served with just the tortilla and the meat, along with a basket of fixings, such as cilantro and line.
