    Carne Asada fajitas!!
    Gerry L.

About ten years ago my cousin took us to the original location of Tacos and Tattoos and we loved the vibe and the food. So this past weekend we went for dinner at their new permanent location which is more spacious with the same cool hipster feel. The menu here is Mexican with some Peruvian influences. We ordered the following appetizers ahi tuna tacos, chips with guacamole, and fried cheese topped with honey. All the appetizers were delicious and very fresh. For the main entree we ordered the carne asada fajitas and the buffalo chicken quesadillas. Both were very tasty and I was very impressed with the portion size. Then came time for dessert and I ordered the stuffed Nutella donut with a ball of vanilla ice cream. The dessert was a little underwhelming the Nutella center was frozen as a rock. Our waitress was also very friendly and gave good recommendations, I am glad that Tacos and Tattoos has lost their edge.

Really fun atmosphere with led lights... a Chipotle on steroids! It's fast food, but the food is great quality, always consistent, and their meat is very flavorful. I always get their burrito bowls with chicken which is flavored with jerk seasoning. Toppings are unique, too. The prices are also very fair given the type of food they serve. Must try toppings: Pickled onions Sweet plantains Guacamole Spicy guava sauce Tacos and Tattoos is definitely a staple for me.

Let me start by saying the tacos are actually good. The ambiance is cool. We got takeout, but while we were waiting for 15 or so minutes my impression of the waitresses was that they're a bit careless and not fully aware of their surroundings. It was slow and they were all huddled in a circle gossiping. After I ordered I stood inside waiting, and was approached at least five times by them trying to seat me and oblivious that they had spoken to me before and knew I was waiting on takeout. Not the friendliest bunch either. The tacos are delicious, but horrifically overpriced compared to the quantity of food you receive. And anything that is an up charge please remember that charge is applied to EACH taco! You order the tacos in sets of 3. 3 tacos is 13.99 and the menu says +$1 for carne asada. That is +$1 PER taco, and is not clarified on the menu. The tacos are tiny, tiny street tacos I could eat in a bite. To even be mildly satisfied you would need 6 of them plus sides. I ordered both carne asada and chicken, they were impossible to tell apart even visually. So meat quality: not the best. That being said, the tortilla and toppings really make for a delicious taco and flavor was not the issue. 3 stars for high prices, stingy portions of food, intentionally deceiving menu descriptions, and ditzy waitressing.

Love this location! The tacos and tattoos is actually a food truck attached to the Lincoln's Beard Brewing Co. The service was friendly and quick! Their card reader was down and staff was very helpful and innovative in finding a way for me to pay and get some food. The guac was dynamite! Delicious...taking leftovers home! So was the queso. Didn't really care for my tacos. I ordered the veggie mushroom tacos and they really didn't taste like much. Next time I will try the quesadilla. Atmosphere is awesome. Relaxed and fun place. Attached to a brewery, so many options for a beer to match your tacos. Overall, I'd return.

Tacos & Tattoos is located in the back of Lincoln's Beard Brewery off of Bird Road. I've frequented Lincoln's Beard enough to try a few of the different concepts out back and can confidently say this is the best! I've known about the Tacos & Tattoos location in Kendall for forever but never had the chance to go. I now see what the hype is about. The fam and I came here for a very early dinner to avoid the crowds. There's ample seating outside under the Beard's cover patio and also along the side of the building at some high tops. There were very few people around and everyone that was working was wearing masks. Social distancing WIN. We ordered truffle elote, guacamole, and a carnitas burrito "jibarrito" which includes cilantro, onions, maduros, and pink sauce. My husband and I shared it all and it was the perfect amount of food! Everything was super solid. I've never had a burrito with maduros inside and am so pleased this has now been corrected. While they have all your standard Mexican fare (tacos, quesadillas, burritos, etc), they have some other really tasty sounding things like Cali fries and filled tostones. We complemented our meal with some delish beer from the brewery; however, I'd totally come by and grab takeout the next time I want Mexican, too! They have online ordering activated to make this painless.

Food options are not terrible for vegans! I will say that food portions are significantly small so keep that in mind. Nothing I have had from here is bad, everything is flavorful and a joy to eat. We love the tostones rellenos with mushrooms.

So never been to the place and everything was delicious. The service was sweet and easy. I love getting recommendations from the people that work there and it's always the best choice. It was a nice in and outside vibes love it .

Went here for a friend's birthday and I am so happy we went. We showed up a half our before they opened and stayed longer than anticipated. Gabby (server) went out of his way for us. He helped me decide what to order and it was yummy! I hope I remember the next time we go or I hope we get Gabby again. I'm posting a picture of it in hopes that I won't forget. Everything was yummy! We were definitely surprised that they have a Taco Tuesday special.

This food truck food is amazing, every time we come to Lincoln's brewery we have their nachosC, tacos and this time around we tried the fried cheese and omg so so good. The food is always on point, the only thing I will say that service is not the best from the food truck personnel but aside from that everything is amazing!

Food was ok nothing special. Family owned restaurant, colorful and artsy interior. The atmosphere is pretty good, but service is so so. Food took long to arrive! Porkbelly taco was suspect ( didn't taste good ) Order: Queso Frito Bites ( Chunks topped with Drizzled Honey and Fresh Cilantro ) Don't order: fries. Maybe I'll give it another shot some other time.

Tacos & Tattoos on taco Tuesday is a must! $2 tacos! I've been a couple times now and I can say it truly always is a great experience. My favorite thing about Tacos & Tattoos: The BATHROOM! Go check it out now!!! I'm not including a photo because I don't want to spoil it for you. Hehehe Eat some tacos & be happy. Let them know my review sent you!!

What a great spot! The decor is so cool! You could spend hours looking at all the neat items. The outside area much less artistic but has a good amount of seating and shade. Tables for large and small parties. Service was streamlined as well as very friendly. Offering great advice without being pushy. One strange thing was we didn't get menus but we also didn't ask. She was quick to tell us the menu was online. They will soon have a liquor license which will make this a causal night Jewel in the rough. The food was simply amazing I was very pleased. They have many topping styles to choose from for each taco which is great. I had the churrasco taco in four different styles and each was unique and sensational. The app we had was a patacón (fried flattened plantain) made into a cup and filled with meat and cheese and toppings - this was an impressive starter-however it's awkward to bite into. Their churros... my favorite thin made into tear drops and drizzled with powdered sugar and chocolate with a scoop of ice cream. Highly recommended. They also had a great beer selection to choose from the *Resin* tasted so fresh!

The food was delicious. My GF ordered the jerk mushroom tacos. The girl taking the order was so excited because she said it was her favorite menu item. What's great about this place is that it's attached to a brewery (Lincoln's beard) so grab a bite and then grab a pint. [What I liked] 1. The menu has a lot of items on it so I think there's something for everyone. 2. Chicken wings were tasty 3. GF was raving about the mushroom taco 4. Service was pretty quick food ordered and ready within 15 minutes of ordering 5. Staff was friendly and attentive 6. I loved the loaded fries (forgot the name of them) they come with plenty so prepare to share. [What I wasn't a fan of] 1. With the pandemic I would have liked to have seen a different setup for the to go sauces/plasticware. They are in communal bowl where people stick their hands inside (think shared peanut bowl at a bar)

Parking was a bit challenging due to the limited number of spaces, but once we walked inside, the experience more than made up for it. We were warmly greeted by Carolina, who also became our server. She was incredibly patient and took her time walking us through the menu, explaining each dish and how everything is prepared. Her dedication to customer satisfaction truly stood out, and we hope management recognizes what an asset she is. Carolina proudly shared that every item on the menu is made in‑house, and it absolutely shows. My wife ordered the Quesadilla de Pollo with a side of Arroz Mexicano and couldn't stop talking about the exceptional flavors. I chose the Tostada al Pastor, a small Tortilla Soup, and a side salad. Everything was delicious, but the Tortilla Soup was the star of the meal--a perfect example of why in‑house preparation matters. Since we're not from the area, we weren't sure where to go for lunch, and we truly lucked out choosing Don Maguey--and having Carolina as our server. Thank you, Carolina. When I looked 20 minutes after at my credit card statement read I had been charged $77 and change pending a potential tip on top of that, even with tip included it is still over approximately $7 what I signed off for. We called to determine the prices of each individual meal and "the manager" was stumbling to tell us the prices for everything. Even with the fake numbers that were given to us it still didn't add up correctly. I remember the prices for the 3 meals my family and I ordered and I remember what the check said. I let it be because maybe they need more than I do. As for the food, I'm born and raised on the border of Mexico and although I must say it does scream authenticity especially on appearance the meat is bland, and that "Mexican rice" is by far the worst tasting rice I've had. For a casual person that likes Mexican food you may like it, but if you know what you're tasting you will not. Also, they didn't have 4 different things on the menu available ultimately leading me to have to go with my 5th option. It is very expensive for what it is, and even more expensive when your waitress manipulates the system.

Both are always very friendly and attentive. This time we decided to sit in the dining room because we were a group of three and had a lot to talk about. The place has 4 TVs and we were able to enjoy the France vs Spain match. We all ordered La Tropical Draft beer, a light, smooth, and very refreshing blonde. In total we had 16 beers . We shared nachos with grilled steak, which were very good (they pour the melted cheese right at the table). We also ordered tripa tacos well toasted (that's the technique) as we requested, and they came out excellent. Note: They have different promotions or offers depending on the day, not a regular happy hour variety, so it's good to be aware of that. The restaurant offers a good variety of 8 salsas: Sirloin, Chips, Guacamole, Verde, Vicente, Pastor, Chilanga, and Asada. Good atmosphere, pleasant service, and tasty food. We'll definitely keep coming back.

Before going, we called the restaurant to ask if they would be showing the World Cup games, and we were told they would be showing all of them. Based on that, we expected a good viewing experience. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. There aren't enough TVs, many of the views are obstructed, and we actually had to move to the bar just to see part of the game. Even then, the music was so loud that we couldn't hear the match at all. When we asked the manager about it, he told us that ownership's instructions were to play music instead of the game's audio. That was especially surprising considering this is a Mexican-owned restaurant and the match was a Mexico World Cup game. The biggest disappointment, however, was the service. To be fair, the restaurant was only about half full, so this wasn't a situation where the staff was overwhelmed by a packed house or unusually heavy demand. I was there with two female friends. I ordered a martini while my friends simply asked for water. The bartender reacted as if asking for water was somehow an inconvenience. We weren't even served chips and salsa until we repeatedly waved down members of the staff and specifically requested them. The bartenders consistently ignored us. My friends waited nearly 20 minutes before anyone came back so they could order their martinis. We later ordered guacamole and the Leña skirt steak. The guacamole arrived promptly, but the steak never did. When we asked another bartender to check on it, he looked in the system and told us there was no food order entered at all. This was unbelievable because the original bartender had described the dish, asked how we wanted the steak cooked, and appeared to take the order. He simply never entered it. When we complained to the manager about the missing food, he told us the kitchen was already closed but that he would "make an exception" and have the steak prepared for us. That response really upset me because this wasn't us asking for special treatment--it was the restaurant trying to correct its own mistake. I told him to simply cancel the order. He then said not to worry because he wouldn't charge us for it, as if not charging for a meal would somehow make up for the experience we had just endured. I declined the offer, but he responded by saying he would bring it anyway and that if we didn't want it, we could just leave it there. To me, that response was even more dismissive and completely missed the point. Throughout the evening, the bartenders were inattentive, dismissive, and consistently rude. Their attitude completely overshadowed what had always been one of my favorite restaurants in Coconut Grove. By halftime, we had simply had enough. Instead of continuing what should have been a fun night, we decided to leave the restaurant and go home, where we watched the rest of the Mexico match in the comfort of my home. Sadly, that turned out to be the best part of the night. I'm writing this review because I know Koko is capable of much better. My previous visits have always been enjoyable, which made this experience even more disappointing. However, if you're planning to watch a World Cup match there, I would strongly recommend choosing another venue. While they may tell you they'll be showing the game, the viewing experience is poor, the game audio is replaced with loud music, and based on our visit, the service was, without question, the worst I've experienced there since the restaurant opened. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously because Koko has always been one of my favorite restaurants, and I'd like to be able to recommend it again. Unfortunately, after this experience, I simply can't.

The server was phenomenal, and the food tasted great, though portions run a little small for the price. One thing that caught me off guard: most of the table ordered tacos and enchiladas, but when the plates arrived, the "tacos" were essentially flautas and the "enchiladas" were more like tacos (the photo shown is the enchiladas). Naming aside, both dishes were delicious. We were also celebrating a birthday, and the staff sang for her and brought out a complimentary dessert--hands down the best brownie dessert I've ever had. The drinks were good, the food came out hot, and the ambiance was wonderful, with friendly, kind staff throughout. What did we order? Chorizo Queso: Not your traditional dipping queso, but FULL of flavor and the chorizo was great, decent portion. The table loved this. Comes with some warm fresh purple corn tortillas! 9/10 Guacamole: Nothing extraordinary, standard guac, I wish there was more guac and chips! The tortillas these come with are the same as the queso but fried and uncut. The music selection is fire though and I was jamming out the whole time while waiting for my food. I complimented them on the music selection and they mentioned the owner is dominican and puerto rican which explained the great music selection. I was helped out by Adrian and his service was helpful in finding what dishes to order. I took my food to go and it was piping hot, definitely made fresh to order which I enjoyed. The nachos were what I was most eager to try as they are all the rage on social media. They lived up to the hype and that nacho cheese is absolute gold. I love that it's served in a pizza box. It just makes it iconic. It travels well and everything was still hot when I got home. The Al Pastor taco was just okay, nothing to write home about but now the steak burrito was really really good. I love that they don't have rice in their burritos and instead replace it with potatoes, which is absolutely delicious. They give two different types of salsas with your order plus limes and the green salsa is unreal. Add it to everything for a flavor boost! All in all this place is fire and if you're craving nachos, this is definitely the place you should come to get your fix!

Ever since I tried their steak Caesar salad I've been obsessed. That was my usual from there for 5 years. 2 nights ago we ordered from uptown and when we got our order I was so angry I didn't want to even eat my food. 1. Steak literally looked like wet dog food 2. They no longer do the frisée salad instead It's just plain old Romaine lettuce 3. For some reason they stopped giving their salsa now which was the highlight of my order 4. The container is so small and the egg was so hot that it melted all the Parmesan cheese and it was just a nasty glob 5. The eggs were so over boiled that they had that grey tint on the yolk and smelled horrible 6. 2 salads cost almost $50 so jokes on us Never again!!! I've literally banned uptown from our house. The audacity to charge so much for a mid salad topped with nasty dog food looking "steak"
