Overall, it was a very good experience, but not quite a 5-star visit. The food was fresh and delicious, and you can tell they use quality ingredients. While we waited for our meal, they brought out a complimentary dessert and fresh fruit plate, which was a thoughtful touch and a nice surprise. One thing to keep in mind is that they don't allow outside drinks. Our server politely informed us that my daughter couldn't have her Gatorade inside the restaurant. It wasn't a huge deal, but I wish there was a little more flexibility for families with young kids. The other reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the seasoning. While the food was good, I felt it needed a little more flavor. Maybe our taste buds in the U.S. are just used to stronger seasoning, but I found myself wishing for a bit more salt and seasoning to really make the dishes pop. Overall, the food quality is excellent, the complimentary fruit and dessert were a nice touch, and I can definitely see why this place is so popular. I parked behind the Soriana on 2nd street, and walked the passageway toward Ave. Revolucion. This restaurant sits right where the passageway ends. The restaurant is relatively small, but has a decent amount of seating, and I've never had issues with wait times here. I made a quick pit stop and then sat down to order my food. I got a plate of eggs over medium, machaca (shredded beef), red chilaquiles, and hash browns. Much like years prior, this plate came out very tasty. The coffee and the lemonade on mineral water were smooth, the coffee strong. The staff here are very friendly and welcoming. They made sure I was well taken cared of. This place is a gem. I recommend them the next time you find yourself in Tijuana's Zona Centro.
