Pulled in to Afton on a Saturday night. Basically everything was closed but this little joint. We had 9 people and a baby. The gentleman that sat us was kind and polite. He took our order and brought us our drinks. While we were there there was nobody around. No employees, no customers, nothing. It was silent. I went to utilize the latrine and saw him in the kitchen, alone with one light on. This fella was literally doing EVERYTHING alone. The food was fresh, delicious, hot, and he didn't mess anything up. This old man did EVERYTHING. Turns out he had a broken wrist and no employees showed up to work. Had we known we would have ordered all the same thing and made it family style type situation to make it easier. This dude literally cooked 9 different Mexican dishes by himself, served the food, and was our bartender. If you're in town, eat here and tip this fella!!!!! read more

Went here on the recommendation of my mom. It was wonderful! Small signage, you could miss it. Right next to the Elkhorn Arch. Service was good, food was excellent, handmade by one guy. I ate there for lunch on Friday. My biggest hint should've been that there was only one other couple in there. I ordered a steak item with sauce. Sign #1 Instead of the standard Wyoming courtesy this guy hardly spoke and seemed miffed that we were there. Sign #2 Though the dishes had been cleared the table was in urgent need of being wiped down. Sign #3 The menu of this "Mexican" place includes one item topped with Parmesan cheese. Sign #4 After nearly 15 minutes we had water and menus but no chips, no salsa and the waiter had yet to smile or speak more than one sentence. We eventually bailed and went to Pizza Hut. We were wandering around Afton early Saturday evening. We had 9 people and a baby, and this place offered margaritas. We were sold. We ordered our drinks and our server, who is also the owner, brought them out. He took our order. It took a little bit of time to get our food but come to find out the owner was the only employee. He had zero help! Considering that, I am just shocked at how amazing the food was. We all got different dinner options and they were all delicious. I called in an order to go a family platter and the girl who took my order told me that it was busy and it would take about 45 minutes so we drove to town and by then an hour had elapsed to give them time we got there and was told they had given our meal out to customers that had scince filtered in and it would be an extra hour so we left the young lady who greeted us when we arrived was apologetic but that didn't help much as it was late in the evening so I guess it's up in the air if you choose to try and get a takeout order vett egg y disappointed read more

This place does a good job with the food service space they have to with to make it charming. It appeared to be popular with the locals. The hostess and waiter service was really good. The food sufficed for us after a long day on the road but didn't hit the spot. We will try it again when we are back in town. In this town there is only two places to eat on a Sunday night. I didn't feel like Chinese, so I came here. The server had no personality and no knowledge of the menu. The environment felt like a high school cafeteria. The chips and salsa with beans was un-eatable. I had to go out of my way to order a beer and it took 10 min to finally arrive. They seem understaffed. My machaca plate was okay, but the rice and beans seemed old, so didn't touch them. If you are desperate for something to eat on a Sunday I recommend the maverick. Get a hot dawg, it would be better, CHEEPER, and faster. read more

This place was really bad. We were seated and we didn't get menus for about 15 minutes. People around us were leaving because the service took so long. Once we finally got out menus we realized that one guys was running the whole restaurant. Our food was sporadic and took forever to actually get to us. We also never got silver ware and had to get it from other tables. Once we got the food it ranged from Luke warm too cold. The only good thing I can say was the salsa was pretty good. I'm not sure if this was only a 1 time thing or if it's only Sunday's that one guys here, but man we are for sure never coming here again. read more

I was staying in town for a night and decided to try it out. It was a quiet place, we were greeted quickly and given chips and salsa that were good. This was the best Mexican food in all of Afton! They closed at 9 and we showed up with a group of 7 around 8:30. The owner seems to be the chef, waiter, and bus boy. He took all of our orders perfectly and delivered them in less than 15 min! He stayed open later for us and didn't rush us at all. Great service and amazing authentic food. read more

Horrible place. Trust me, just don't go. We walked in the back door because we parked in the back. There were two guys sitting at a table with about 7 beers on the table. One of the men notified an old man in the kitchen that there were more of Us coming. I still remember a little Spanish for my school days. We finally made our way to the front of the restaurant, where we were greeted by a very young girl. My 12 year old daughter was very surprised at how young this girl looked and immediately asked how old she was. The girl responded with 11. My daughter was very surprised that she was working. Unfortunately, her experience matched her age. We asked for suggestions and she just Shrugged her shoulders. She never greeted us. She never really paid attention to us and we had to ask somebody else to get her so we could order. There was only one other family in the entire restaurant and after they left we were the only ones in there on a Saturday night. We were tempted to get up and leave but we were part way through the chips and we were so starving that we thought it couldn't be too bad. We really wish we had left. It was just an entire lack of customer service, the prices are really high for what you get, and it was just an uncomfortable vibe. We have lived all over the country including some of the most expensive places to eat like Boston, Los Angeles, and Honolulu. I thought the prices at Los Cabos were ridiculously high. The entree I ordered was the enchiladas Los Cabos. They were three chicken enchiladas with a white sauce. There was no specification on what type of tortillas it came with, unlike other dishes where there was a specified tortilla mention. So naturally, I asked for flour. I only realized later that she had charged me for those tortillas. I felt a little irritated that she didn't notify me ahead of time of the up charge and that it wasn't specified on the menu. Food itself was mediocre. The children's menu items are $6 each and they are borderline pathetic. The chicken tenders was nothing more than four overdone chicken nuggets with some really overdone french fries straight from your grocery freezer. Like Ore Ida. We were also incredibly anxious to get out of there. We really wished we had left when we thought of it. The most uncomfortable thing came when she brought the check. She hacked up a lung with lots of phlegm all over our check and the candies. That was so disgusting I had to leave. She didn't cover her mouth, and she had been manhandling our glasses the entire evening. But the kicker was when we were leaving and headed toward the back of the restaurant where we parked, there were now 8 adults sitting at this table blocking our way to the back door. There were about 30 beers on the table and none of them moved so that we can get by. So we have an old man in the kitchen doing all the food and an 11 year old doing the serving. Something tells me that this restaurant is a front for something else. It was empty the entire time we were there as out-of-towners. Go across the street to agave. That place was hip and happening. 44 an ultimate dining experience, go to that restaurant north of here called Savor. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. The food was decent but when we walked in there were only children running the place. There was no adults in sight. Pass on this place. We should not have stayed when at 6:30 on a Tuesday evening we were the only couple in the place. In fact when we entered there was no wait staff, cashier or anyone else in the place. An older gentleman came out from the kitchen and did everything. The house enchilada plate was terrible! The sauce was dry, bitter and burnt. The house tacito plate was just ok. How very disappointing since this place is right on the main street by the Elkhorn archway. A place of prominence in town but one of the worst Mexican food experiences we've had in our travels. For very good Mexican food in the area, travel 15 miles up the road to Thayne and eat at Juan's House of Tacos. Open except on Tuesday and Sunday. read more
