He simply pointed us to the two tables near the entrance and told us the restroom was upstairs. Since the restaurant was completely empty, with no customers and very few cars in the parking lot, I politely asked if we could choose a different table. His response was that we could not because he decided where customers sat. The way this was communicated felt dismissive and unwelcoming. As a fellow Mexican, I was especially disappointed by the interaction. I had come hoping to enjoy authentic Mexican hospitality, but instead I left feeling unwelcome. My son even asked me why the gentleman had behaved that way, and I felt it was better for us to leave than begin our meal with that experience. Restaurants in a tourist destination have an opportunity to make visitors feel welcome and appreciated. Good food is important, but genuine hospitality is what people remember. I sincerely hope management takes customer service seriously, because a warm greeting and respectful treatment can make all the difference.
